The woman at the entrance was kind and helpful, though she spoke so softly my ADHD brain had to lean in like a detective--but her directions were spot on. Inside the main building, the art from Cuba was the star for me--bold, vibrant, full of life. Some of my absolute favorites were in the Cuban art section--each piece felt like it was humming with its own frequency. The geometric painting (the one drenched in deep reds, burnt oranges, and that sharp black hourglass shape) hit me first. It's bold, mathematical, yet somehow spiritual--like a coded message meant for anyone perceptive enough to catch it. Very "guardian-spirit-meets-mid-century-modern." I stood there longer than I expected. The giant ancient sloth? Unreal. I wish they'd place a modern-day sloth beside it, just so my brain could process the scale without glitching. The bug/kids section was unexpectedly adorable. The kids were living their best lives, and honestly, I was right there with them--zero shame. I did drive over to the second building for the "It's a Ship Show" exhibit, and okay... I see what they did with the title. At first glance I read it as "It's a Sht* Show," and for a split second I thought MOAS got sassy. The artwork leaned heavily into still life, and to me it felt more like pieces you'd find in an upscale lounge, a refined boutique hotel, or a polished restaurant--visually pleasing but not as emotionally stirring as the main gallery. Just my personal taste. I could've spent more time wandering around, but I was on a first date with someone who kept making me laugh. I felt like the loud kid in class trying to stay quiet in a museum. Overall, great value, memorable art, and a surprisingly fun atmosphere. I'd definitely go again--preferably when I'm not giggling through every exhibit.

I was terrified to run someone over. On top of that, the rink is just not in great shape, as evidenced by: With what must have been close to a couple hundred people crammed into the building between parents and kids. One of the main doors to get into the rink area was marked as broken, and it caused a lot of issues trying to enter and exit, and confusion over whether both doors of the set were broken or just one, as the signage and cone was only on one of them. The entry to the ice itself is tiny and easily blocked by one person, let alone people also to exit the ice. Water was dripping from the rafters onto my skate bag. The rental skates are in BAD condition, like, I'm aware that rentals aren't good but most of these were nasty and should have been replaced already. And because of the massive crowd and gift tables from the parties there was basically no place to sit and put skates on. It was a couple of our kids' first time skating and I wish I'd have just taken them to one of the other rinks nearby, but I wanted to have access to a walker for any of them that wanted to use it. On that note, I purchased a walker rental but I was not given the correct color wristband to get one, so actually getting the walker was more challenging than it needed to be. For this..."experience", we paid a little more than $70. Maybe it's better on a weekday but I can't say I'm very excited to go back and see if that's true or not after the experience we had today. It kind of feels like we survived an incident rather than had a fun family outing.

The staff was friendly enough, but I did think they nickel and domed you. Like if kids are skating, they will rent you a kind of walker to help keep them upright. The party area was two tables, one for each party. The people hosting it said it was two hundred and fifty dollars for ten kids, so twenty-five dollars a head, not a terrible price, but I didn't think they gave a lot for the money. Pro.tip, if you go, remember that it is an ice skating rink, so it is chilly in there so bring a jacket.

However, from overall experience, it's not likely we will visit any of the locations again since there are others in the area that seem to be overall better experience. Atmosphere wise much of the facility felt dated and poorly maintained. The floor was painted, and flood and walls had noticeable chipped paint. The tables consisted primarily of plastic picnic tables, and the lockers and wall finishes appeared to be made from basic plywood materials. The décor felt mismatched and out of place, with little cohesive theme or atmosphere. Lighting throughout the facility was less-than. Overall it felt very thrown together and minimally up-kept . The overall space felt smaller than expected as well. There did not appear to be any dedicated party rooms or private event spaces, which limits options for hosting birthdays or group events, although not entirely within the control of the business itself, just more of an aside. I did not use the restroom, so I cannot comment on its condition. The food service was particularly disappointing. If you plan to be here during meal times, I would recommend planning ahead, especially on a weeknight. The kitchen did not appear to be fully operational or adequately stocked, and the food quality was below what I would expect from even a typical convenience store. I hate to say as it seems mean, but it's really an honest comparison based on what I saw. Also, food items that were ordered were forgotten, and employees appeared to be trying to locate supplies and determine how to prepare certain menu items or we're focusing on other things entirely. The soda I ordered was clearly not monitored for replacement and was soda water with a hit of syrup. I observed another customer order mozzarella sticks and receive a small cardboard tray that was nearly filled with marinara sauce, which was wasteful at best. My overall impression gave me the feeling that the facility is being operated at the lowest possible cost point. While the skating itself seemed enjoyable for the kids, the lack of investment in the facility, food service, and event accommodations seems likely to limit repeat visits, food sales, and party bookings. There appears to be significant untapped potential if more attention were given to maintenance, presentation, and customer experience. Not sure the market supports the idea of further investment but there seems to be a lot left to want here from a consumer perspective.
