4.5 stars for one of my favorite public golf courses in the Central Florida area…read more I was visiting Titusville a few years ago when a buddy recommended that head up the road and check out the Jones Course at LPGA International in Daytona. I hadn't really heard of the course before, but the afternoon prices were pretty reasonable and the Golfpass reviews were good, so I decided to give it a try. I arrived at the venue, which is more like a community, about an hour early. One of the more-discussed issues with this course is that they can run out of golf carts, so I went up to grab a cart early to make sure I didn't run into any problems. I then went into the beautiful interior with the pro shop overlooking the course and a gigantic restaurant (with an awesome patio) next door. I checked in for my round, bought a ball bucket token, and headed out. While I wasn't thrilled that the range balls weren't included with the round, the price was cheap and my wife and I received plenty of range balls to hit. The range is grass (huge plus) and pretty spread out so that you don't have to be too close to people. The putting and chipping areas are also quite large, so we were able to warm up just fine. The reason this course is one of my favorites in Central Florida is it is kept in great condition for a public course. I've always found the greens to roll fast and true, while the various hole setups are interesting enough to keep your attention without being too challenging to play with my wife and other friend. The course can get a little packed, but the pace generally moves well enough that we get done in 3-4 hours (which compared to other public courses is really fast). Overall, LPGA International provides a great public golf course experience. If you are looking to try out a nice golf course in Central Florida without the nice course prices, you should definitely give this spot a look.

You can buy balls at the range but sometimes the credit card part isn't working. So I'd recommend purchasing a code at the shop. You can't pay online for your tee time, so you gotta stop in the shop anyways. The guys working the bag drop off are slow to say hi and welcome you. Gone are the days when they run up to your car and help. Pretty much put my own bag on the cart before he came over. The course itself is beautiful. Lots of sand and water. The greens are super fast. When it's not busy, you can do 18 in 3.5 hours. There are bathrooms along the course and a cart girl. I'd say other courses have more service throughout, like water coolers, ball washing stations, etc. The bar and restaurant are closed, as well as the little bar along the course, for coronavirus. The pro shop has the usual stuff, and there's a bathroom there. Carts don't have the electronic mapping or scoring. The score card doesn't have a map or visual of each hole because the other course score card is on the back. So pay attention to the signage when you reach the first tee box to get a sense of the layout of the hole. A lot of long holes. Didn't lose too many balls on the hills course vs the jones course. It's a fun course but I'd say Disney courses are much better for the same price.

The clay tennis courts and pickle ball courts are very nice as well. The sunset grill and main dining room offer a variety of food choices. But, the most important attribute of Sugar Mill are its members. The members are welcoming and most importantly friendly. Sugar Mill offers an affordable private club experience. All of this and the beautiful New Smyrna Beach are a true gem. If you are considering relocating to Florida you must give Sugar Mill Country Club and its surrounding neighborhood a look!

It…read moreseems the staff here has hosted so many events it appears effortless and since it's members only to tee-off (meaning you can play with an invite) I'm here for an event and an evening of delicious food and alcohol, after all it's a celebration. We raised a glass to cheers my dear friend and a big thank you for the invite and I may have planted a kiss on her cheek. The private venue offered some socializing we've been missing with our good friends and of course the incorporation of some social distancing, but still the accommodations offered an intimate setting and the staff completely understands the importance of giving everyone space but still managed to provide exceptional service. I know there's an invite pending for a wonderful dinner in the near future and after touring the restaurant and sports bar it's looking like I'm going to have to drop a few more hints so I can experience it all. This is a beautiful Country Club with lots of amenities with a small membership, there's nothing not to like about this place...

The range is wonderful, the pro shop is fully stocked. Their restaurant was great. The course was also somewhat challenging. For an executive golf course, there were some difficult holes. Water comes into play on every single hole and trees are a very annoying issue. The designer of the course did a fantastic job. No hole is straight forward. Each requires a little bit of planning beforehand. I will defiantly return to play another round.

Every drink she made was spot on, and she somehow managed to keep the entire bar entertained while staying on top of everything. She was quick with a joke, genuinely funny, and refreshingly authentic--one of those people who makes you feel welcome the second you sit down. I asked if she could change the TV channel, and she didn't hesitate. It's a small thing, but it showed how much she cares about making sure guests are having a good time. Great drinks, great attitude, and just an all-around good person. If you're heading to Plantation Bay Cabana, do yourself a favor and grab a seat at Erin's bar. People like her are the reason you come back.

The range in nice and long, the chipping green is large, but the putting green is torn apart and mostly dirt. Nice, large clubhouse with a lot of amenities. The course has a good layout but the condition of the course is not the best. I hope in a few months I can delete this update and my review will go back to the four stars it once was, we'll see.

The club had the usual stuff for sale as well as CBD cocktails prepackaged- interesting! No service on the course when we played, but we could grab what we wanted before we started and at the turn. Restrooms were inside the country club and there were more on the course. Carts were basic. Ours stopped working when we stopped to use the restroom because you gotta remove the key. We tried to call the club for help. It took us awhile to get through. The guys behind us got ahead of us because we were stuck. Apparently there is some trick where you gotta reset the cart. The guy on the phone talked us through it. I would say that was a problem and they should mention it at the club as we lost a solid 20 min trying to help ourselves while calling 5-6 times without answer. We did not eat at the club. Parking was plentiful. Putting green available for practice. We did not have time to hit any balls to warm up. I would say my overall opinion here is that the club staff were the nicest in town. I remember that vividly. Such nice people. The course was decent and challenging. Some rough spots. Some dirt in the fairways. But for the overall experience (aside from the cart malfunction) I would say 4/5 stars and I'd come back to play again.

It's oblivious that this community focuses much of their revenue on the aircraft facilities and not so much on the golf course but I still love playing here and at certain times of the day it's like playing golf at an air show with all the activities, on a few of the tee boxes there are signs warning you of low flying aircraft, even though I still hit the ball amazingly well some days I don't think the pilots have any reason to be concerned. It's apparent they didn't underfund the clubhouse and golf shop, which has a nice selection of golf apparel and gear as well as a nice restaurant and bar with an outdoor patio. The driving range and practice greens are only a few steps from the pro-shop and is very well maintained. Today the weather was 75 degrees and partly sunny with a brisk breeze and gusts exceeding 20 mph which helped on some holes keeping me away from some of the hazards but right in our faces on other holes that required me to club up at times but I'm proud to say I only lost one ball the entire round although I didn't challenge the course record by any means. I agree with the old adage "that the worst day on the golf course is better than the best day at work" so it was a fun day - the staff here was wonderful checking in at the pro-shop was easy and we were able to tee-off a little early which is always nice and we were never pushed. The beer cart made frequent shops to check on us and refresh our coolers and also stocked a nice selection of top-shelf liquor in airline bottles. At the end of the day it was a great outing even though the fairways and cart paths could use a little attention and the greens were like putting on a gymnasium floor (super fast, but true) I hope to return here as much as I can...
