Dr. Patel is absolutely amazing, and so is his awesome staff! My husband has been seeing him for…read moreabout 3 years now and I have been for about a year. During your first appointment, they will draw your blood and do ALL blood tests (including thyroid, hormones, etc.) and schedule you for an ultrasound on your internal organs and an EEG and a breathing test. The first time I was a little overwhelmed but it's all part of an annual physical and I appreciated this so much! Dr. Patel is very kind, always smiling, very knowledgeable and patient with his patients. He takes as much time as you need and answers all and any questions without judging you. Of course, he gave the quit smoking lecture but I'd consider it malpractice if he didn't! And we did quit so yay! He ALWAYS has appointments, 99% of the time same day! His entire staff is fun, laid back and really nice. They get the job done quickly and efficiently and also take time to answer questions you have. To give you a true idea of how much we love Dr. Patel, we moved from Homewood to the north side of Chicago 2.5 years ago and we still drive down to the suburbs to see him, including my once-a-week trip five weeks in a row just for an injection of Iron/B12... Yup, he's that good. I only know of two cons in the entire time we've been going there: Every once in awhile the waiting room wait can be a bit long but like I said, it's worth it. This is primarily a problem only on Saturdays and that's because they do the ultrasounds and testing on Saturday so it takes a bit longer. Also, their hours are a bit squirrely because he splits his time between two offices so he's currently open only Tuesday afternoons (until 7), Wednesday afternoons (until 6:30) and Saturday mornings (until 11) at this time. That can be annoying when you want to get in on Monday for an ear ache that starts Saturday night or something but we've only had that happen once and it turned out to be ER worthy anyway. All in all, I would highly recommend Dr. Patel and his practice. He is currently training a second doctor and she is also great. She takes her time and explains things to you and seems to be following closely in Dr. Patel's footsteps in regard to his practices and beliefs. I love this office and wish he was in the city!

He also has an office in the St. Bernard Clinical Building at 326 W. 64th street, chicago, IL. I was patient of under this doctor medical care and I never seen him when visiting for appointments for over a year but only his assistance Christine. I was prescribed medication that nearly killed me if it wasnt for the help of Christ Memorial Hospital. Dr. Aboyeji and his staff prescribed medication to me and when I called about the medicine making me sick; Dr. Oboyeji and his staff would not call me back for over 3 months and even the Christ Hospital and my primary doctor was calling him about the medication and they never called back. We contacted the managers of St. Bernard Hospital about the non-communication on this doctor and was told that they were informed that they have dropped me as a patient. No letter was sent to me or call regarding this decision and reason as why. St. Bernard was no help at all in reporting this doctor; so I took matters into my own hands and reported this doctor to the Illinois Medical Board. I also hired my own lawyer to sue for malpractice and not following up on medication administered. PLEASE anyone who has this doctor or seeking a doctor; DO NOT REGISTER NOR SELECT DR. OLUFEMI ABOYEJI as a doctor nor his councelor Alberto Martinez and Christine; they are fraud and illegal malpractice doctors and counciler and assistant nurse of St. Bernard Clinic He is using insurance fraud to collect under his name but you never see him or talk with him but your insurance is paid to him which is total Insurance Fraud! If you have a problem with medicine they issue you and have a reaction or get sick; they will not call you back nor have any contact with you and will dismiss you with cause. Be careful of any doctors you pick at St. Bernard Clinical/Hospital; this place is just a death trap for blacks and minority people to experience and practice medicine on and do not care about your health or will being.

Like so many of his patients, I discovered him while looking into tonsillectomy procedures. He has done tonsillectomies just about every way possible and has made reducing pain and recovery time his priority. It's also important to note that he's in no rush to cut like so many other ENT's who crank through as many procedures as possible. If he does not see evidence of chronic tonsillitis, he won't do the procedure. We almost had to talk him into it since the infection was low by the time we saw him. Recovery was fast and only required low doses of ibuprofen for the pain. Given the horror stories out there among adults undergoing tonsillectomies this was an outstanding result! I have already recommended more than one person to his care. Highly recommended.

I discovered Dr. Amenta while I was on a quest to find a less painful tonsillectomy. You see,…read moreabout a year ago, I went to Northwestern Hospital and the Ear, Nose, and Throat Dr. confirmed I had chronic tonsil infections and that I would qualify for tonsil removal surgery. However, the ENT Dr. also said that a tonsillectomy is rated as one of the most painful surgeries and recoveries of all, as painful as open-heart surgery. Whether true or not, it scared me from having the surgery that I needed to have happen done. I just ignored my problem due to being scared of a painful surgery and recovery. Alas, Dr. Amenta to the rescue!!! I Googled "less painful tonsillectomy" and his name came up. Dr. Amenta uses a less invasive new technology called tissue welding. I had a consult with him, and was immediately put at ease by his intelligent and kind presence, and had the surgery a week later. Within 10 days, I was able to go back to work and within 14, was basically fully-recovered and feeling wonderful. Dr. Amenta, located in the south suburbs, is 100% worth the visit and drive from Chicago. Please do yourself a favor and if you are in need of a tonsillectomy, please see Dr. Amenta. With the technology he uses, you will be in less pain. Also, his skill, knowledge and bedside manner is truly respectable and responsible. Tip: Days 5, 6, and 7 (of all tonsillectomies) are tough. If you accidentally tear a scab off (by letting it dry out or eating a rough food), it will hurt. I found that peppermint tea and alcohol-free Biotene mouthwash helped sooth my throat a bit.
