My husband and I often joke that the food sounds so good and well‑balanced that we wish we could be part of the meal plan too! What truly makes this daycare special is how personal it feels. Lidiana's Rain or Shine daycare is truly a special place. We toured her place first ina long list of daycares and left thinking "this is the place". When we toured the other locations we were using Rain or Shine as our benchmark and we just could not find another place that measured up. I will break this review into different sections: Care Lidiana and all the other care staff are incredibly caring. They made our daughter feel like family every day she was there. Our daughter grew attached to all of them and cared for all of them. She would tell stories or was excited to see each of them the night before. Pick up/drop off and Communication Very easy, we have two kids at the daycare and the staff is very helpful. Lidiana always lets us know when we are running low on supplies so we can make sure to keep our kids well stocked. We also enjoy spending time talking with Lidiana and learning how she is doing, new behaviors, and interesting tidbits about our kid. Food and Cleanliness They take care of all of it, it is very convenient not having to worry about food for our toddler and she is being fed healthy and diverse foods. There are pictures in the app of what they ate that day. The space is very clean, parents are asked to take off their shoes before entering the play area and the backyard is well kept and great for the kids to play. Activities Kids get to do art, go to the library, go to the playground, play in the backyard, there's internal play areas, and a ton of other activities. They also get to learn portuguese. Our 2-year-old daughter attended Rain or Shine for over 6 months, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. She loved it from day one. The transition from staying at home with a nanny to starting daycare was incredibly easy. Unlike her older brother, who attended a different daycare and had a much harder adjustment, she never cried and was excited to go every morning. The location is wonderful, close to both the library and the park, and the kids go on outings to one of the two almost every day. She napped well, ate well, and always seemed happy when we picked her up. Lidiana prepares healthy meals for the kids every day, and we really appreciated the care that went into making sure they were well-fed. One thing that surprised us was how clean she usually came home. She often wore the same clothes she arrived in, and we rarely needed to bring extra clothing. We believe they help wash and manage the kids' clothes. They were also incredibly supportive during potty training. Just one week after switching to underwear, she was already having very few accidents. The teachers are kind, attentive, and genuinely seem to love spending time with the children. Every time we picked her up, she was in a great mood and clearly felt comfortable and happy there. We highly recommend Rain or Shine. Lidiana and her team took great care of my son and we are always so grateful of them. We are relieved to know our son is under great care while we are away. There's nothing better than that feeling as a parent. Long review - As a first time mom, the thought of sending your baby away to a stranger for care anywhere other than yourself gives me mad anxiety. I did my homework/research and eventually picked Rain or Shine day care. To be honest I was very skeptical in the beginning as any parent would be. But that worry was gone very quickly. I can safely say this it is the best decision I've ever made. Lidiana, the owner, is a mother of 3 happy and lovely kids, not to mention, she is also very sporty/fit so she could actually keep up with the high energy demand! My son never fussed since day one. Lidiana gave him so much attention every time he had his moments. She just gets it, she understood a child's needs, signals and gentle with emotions. I always joke my son gets more hurt at home under my care than when he's under her care. My son smiles when he sees her house, and doesn't want to leave when we pick him up. I got lowkey jealous when he wanted her more than me sometimes. Oh yes, the environment is clean and organized. Backyard is huge and the location is amazing. Library and a playground/park is half block away. The kids go to either library or park almost everyday before lunch! Love how active she keeps them! Lidiana also kept all events transparent and there's a summary of child's daily schedule by end of day by text. Again, I just love her nurturing character. That is the most important character to me when I choose a day care. And I've seen plenty. All the kids at her daycare loves her and that says a lot. My son is moving onto PreSchool and he has been crying 3 days straight, sad but this never happened with Lidiana. Maybe we will be back if he doesn't get better. Lidiana and her team are absolutely wonderful - I was frantically reading reviews and worried as we needed a solution for daycare and we were so fortunate to have had our toddler in her care. Things I was looking for in a daycare that Lidiana + her in-home team do (and are amazing at!) * Safe * A daycare with a schedule but not *too* intense (ours was just a toddler, I want them to learn without it being too strict, yet not be bored and not too large of size) * Super caring and hands on with the infants and kids - She has tons of experience and it shows in the way she talks to the kids and tells them "Ok everyone say bye!" Or "Good job!" * Lots of positivity + activities - Love that they take them to the park and library! It helped our kid start to like the playground v being horrified about playgrounds. * Encourages play with other children + speaks with them - Under Lidiana's care our daughter learned many new words and phrases. * Arts & crafts - For example, they had really fun valentines day finger paints and more for the kids. Our kid loves arts + crafts * Good food - Lidiana makes homemade meals + has healthy snacks for the kids * Updates during the day / at the end of the day - I'm a super type A person and love to see what they are up to. * End of day updates - When our daughter was still adjusting Lidiana shared every detail and let me know how our toddler was. It was a relief to have a caretaker for her that is honest, trustworthy, and not flustered by our very cautious toddler. Other notes from a, sort of crazy, mom (who isn't in the Bay Area?!) * This is going to sound ridiculous too, but do not worry that your kid will like daycare more than you. Our toddler was just as pleased to see us as she was to go once she got used to it. I was like "Oh no what if she likes daycare more than us?" But that is a really good sign. * Every time I picked up our daughter, all the kids seemed like they were doing quite well. I've done pick ups / visits elsewhere before and like "Ummm, this poor sad kid." I never sensed / seen that at Rain or Shine. * Our toddler is ultra nervous but after a week or so, we'd say her name and she'd reply "Idiana!" and the names of a few other kids in daycare - Which was huge as she doesn't even say family member names. We love Rain or Shine Daycare! We have been so grateful to them. In May 2025, we were struck with an unpleasant surprise and lost our nanny (she only gave us 5 days notice). It was such a blessing that we were able to find Rain or Shine and they had an opening for our son. Rain or Shine was so great that we decided to postpone enrollment for him in August 2025 at another daycare that we had pre-registered for. When we had our second son, they were able take care of both our children so we didn't need to worry when we returned back to work. We love and appreciate all the care and attention Lidiana and the team give to them. They would even come out to the curb to help us bring the children in and out of daycare. That is a service that not all daycares provide! We are truly sad to have to move our children from Rain or Shine and even tried to find a nanny to help support us so that they could continue to attend. Our children are a testament to their care as we see them smile and laugh when they get to the daycare and are sad to leave the daycare at the end of the day. read more

When we met Lidiana, she came across as friendly and energetic. As first-time-parents, this made it easier to decide to send our son to Rain or Shine, but it still didn't make it easy. After having spent every day with him for a year, it was beyond difficult entrusting his care to someone we had just met. After having our son at her daycare for a while, we've found those qualities to be true, and through her interactions with me, my wife, and with our son, we also found that she's sweet, caring, motherly, and trustworthy. She's a mother of three beautiful kids, and it shows in the way that interacts with and cares for the children at her daycare. As we've gotten to know her, we started to realize how lucky we were to find such a responsible, well-rounded human being to care for our son. She keeps her place clean, provides multiple meals per day for the kids, takes them on a field trip to the library or the park almost every day, has a large backyard for them to play in, and most importantly, the children are always happy when I'm there. They look engaged in what they're doing or with the adult they're with, and they always have someone watching over them, whether it's Lidiana herself, or her amazing helper, Jojo. When you watch them interact with the children, you just know that they actually care about them. They're not overextended and don't mind just getting down on the ground with the kids to spend time with them at the pace that they need. Lidiana babysat my children for 10 years. She took care of my son and my daughter from birth until they were in elementary school. She has a great judgment when it comes to emergency and she is extremely organized and she follows all the OSHA and safety protocols. They provide educational and recreational activities, take the children on field trips to the park and the library, and keep their bellies full with healthy meals. Most importantly, they cared for our daughter in a way that any parent would want. It is clear she developed close relationships with Lidiana and Jojo. She would jump into their arms every morning and cry when we picked her up because she wanted to stay longer. She would say "Ana" and "Jo" when they weren't around and would list the names of all her friends at school. I was looking for last minute child care support for my 4-yr old twin boys in June because their summer camp won't start until July, and I had to go back to the office. Luckily I found Lidiana from Yelp and contacted her. She responded quickly, gave me a tour of her place and showed me the daily schedule. Just like what you can see from the photos, the place is very clean and organized. She also has a large gated backyard with gravel pits, trampoline, and tricycles, etc. Originally, I was a bit worried that my boys may not have enough to do, but they actually fell in love with the place right away. They didn't even want to leave, and they kept telling me to send them back to Teacher Lidy's place. Both Lidiana and her helper Jojo are very kind, patient, happy, responsible, easy-going and flexible with schedules. My kids really like them. Another nice thing is that, Lidiana prepares yummy breakfast, lunch and snack for the kids, so I don't have to worry about packing food for them in the morning. Thank you very much for your help!
