I live in Hamilton Square. My children have attended Rainbow Academy since they were 4 months old. They are 5 now and they are graduating from pre-school there next month. This is a woman owned, family run business which has been in operation for over 20 years. When my children were infants/babies, they would mix formula there for me. They don't do that at corporate places. Once I ran out of liquid formula and the Director/owner went out and bought a bottle of it for my children and refused to take my money for it. The Director lives upstairs with her family. If my children ever were hungry or if I was late, she and her family opened their home to them and would feed/entertain my children until I arrived. I can also say that I have 2 step children, who are now 21 and 19, and they also attended Rainbow Academy under the same Director and also with Miss Mary and Miss Leticia, who are still there also! No one can say enough nice things about Miss Mary, she is one of a kind. Miss Leticia is one of the sweetest people who I have ever met. If your daughter goes home with an elaborate, beautiful braid in her hair, that would be the handiwork of Miss Leticia! I also asked her to speak Spanish to my children so they can be exposed to that. Miss Morgan, one of the directors daughters and a teacher there, single-handedly taught my children the alphabet, the sign language alphabet, how to spell their name, how to spell their name in sign language, how to count in English, Spanish and Chinese, their shapes, colors, and many states, all before they were 4! They teach the children to respect parents and adults by having them refer to adults as "Miss" or "Mr". They celebrate every holiday at Rainbow and every family signs up to bring something. They celebrate every student's birthday and the parents always have goodies for that. At Christmas time, the Director's husband dresses up as Santa for the children and hands out gifts that were received through a pollyanna. Parents regularly bring n "hand me downs" for other parents. My children have had a tremendous experience there and I am grateful for all the love they have shown my children over the past 5 years. read more

Nicole M.'s review captured my feelings exactly. My son had been to other daycares, but once we found Rainbow, we found our place and never looked back. At the other places, he constantly had new teachers every few months so there was no consistency or bond. Rainbow Academy was the family environment that I'm so grateful both my kids had. We still call each other the Rainbow family and keep in touch, even five years after my kids graduated from there. There's a lot of love in that place, and both my kids grew so much socially and academically there. Most kids I know who went there were academically advanced for kindergarten but honestly, that's just the plus. What mattered most was the love and attention given to both my children. The free play that all kids should have to be imaginative and just be kids. The way all the teachers cared about them, embraced them, knew their personalities and loved each kid for what made them special (this true not only for my own children but all kids who went there). My daughter was in the hospital for a long time. When it was time to return to regular life, there was no other place I would have trusted with her care. I was leaving her with family. My daughters are now 19 and 11 and they still have fond memories of Rainbow Academy. If we happen to see Miss Maria or Miss Mary in town, it's not simple "Hello", it's "MISS MARY!" with all the love and excitement they had when they were in their care. Both girls started at Rainbow at the age of 2 and transitioned into the summer camp program as they got older. They were both more than ready for kindergarden, academically speaking and socially speaking. They learned to be independent yet kind and sharing with their friends. The staff was patient and fair, even in challenging situations - which always happens with young children. My youngest loves seeing her old Rainbow friends either in person or on Facebook and we have the staff to thank for fostering that family feeling among the children. read more

I was a student here a while ago. I absolutely loved my experience here and Mrs.Maria and her staff made this place feel like home. I was always happy and excited to come to daycare everyday and had many fun experiences. I went through her full program and it was a lot of fun. I learned so many things and still Remember all the friends I made when I was there. Being a student at her facility and making all those memories really made me want to work in a daycare myself and create those amazing memories for students of my own. I now work at a daycare myself and I still love the fun environment day care is! I can't thank Mrs.Maria enough for everything she has done and making my childhood fun! I was thrilled when space opened up for my children to attend Rainbow Academy. Ms. Mary and Ms. Maria welcomed my children with opened arms and treated them more like family than students. We were always kept well informed and the kids would not stop talking about all of the things they've learned while they were there and all of the fun they've had all day. All three continued to go to their summer camp program which was not only fun but educational. If you are looking for a positive experience with top-notch care you would benefit from having your children enrolled at Rainbow Academy. I need elaborate on my previous review of this facility. I don't know Crystal but her review is accurate. If you are not a "favorite" of the owner your child will receive less than sub par care. Ms Mary is the only reason I left my child there as long as I did. Don't be fooled. Notice the 5 star reviews came in after the negative reviews. I've witnessed the owner asking parents to do this to raise her rating. Your child will come home filthy every day. The "playground" is a dirt field. The learning is minimal. And if you raise concerns on the learning the owner will make you feel as if the issue is your child. Please do your research before choosing this facility for your child. read more

My daughter was 18 months old when she started at Rainbow. I was a young mom with zero experience with daycare but when I walked in, I knew it was where she belonged. The transition was hard but, Miss Maria, Miss Mary and the staff always made me feel comfortable. If my daughter was having an especially difficult day (at the start), Miss Maria would call me, with my daughter on her lap so that we could talk. She was very patient with her. We stayed at Rainbow through every summer camp and didn't leave until my daughter outgrew it. I have recommended Rainbow to several friends and family and will always recommend them as they are a family, not just a daycare. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Maria and all of her staff. She eased my mind as I transitioned back to work, leaving my 6 week old child with her. She monitored her development and gave me insight into issues that she saw as they were occurring. This prompt dialogue made it easier to correct the problems before there were any lasting effects. This is an amazing establishment! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and beautiful inside and out. Maria treats my son as if he were her own and goes above and beyond for him. She has been amazing during covid, also going above and beyond to keep her students and staff safe and healthy. I feel truly blessed that she is helping me on my journey with being a first time mother, without a lot of her knowledge and guidance, I would probably be lost right now. My daughters started at Rainbow when the oldest was 18 months old. My 2nd went at 3 months old. They are 10 and 12 now and we still consider Miss Maria and Miss Mary part of our extended family. Not once did my girls come home saying they were yelled at or mistreated. They were always fair and encouraging. Young kids can be challenging and the staff at Rainbow always patience to spare. My daughter started at Rainbow Academy at the age of 3 years old. This was her first daycare/preschool experience, so naturally she was scared. But the staff at Rainbow Academy, especially Ms. Mary and Mrs. Maria welcomes her with open arms, and within DAYS she had already adjusted and looked forward to going. As a first time parent, I was nervous to leave my newborn in the care of strangers. Between Miss Nely, Miss Maria, Miss Mary and all the girls at Rainbow Academy, I think we made the best choice for us and our son! If there were negative stars I'd give that. Children come home filthy. There is a difference between having fun and getting dirty and head to toe filth. There are no separate classrooms. So if the babys are crying your child will hear that when they are trying to "learn". read more

Amazing preschool all around! The children learn so much including sign language, Spanish, reading and writing and much more. The teachers are wonderful and have been there since the school opened. It is a very welcoming environment and an overall great learning center! read more
