My child has been a patient of Rainbow Pediatrics for years. He is paralyzed from the waist down and has to be Cathed multiple times a day and yes that leads to utis. We have had an established urologist for years in town who retired sometime earlier this year. Now we have to travel a hour away every time we need to have a urine analysis, which would be okay except for the times that they are unable to see us and in that case we go to his pediatrician. The only problem with that is Dr. Nanda has refused to help my child. Even when we cannot be seen from his urologist. We are supposed to be able to get a referral to drop off his urine to quest diagnostics so his pediatrician can put in for antibiotics. Dr. Nanda will not do it. She is highly unprofessional and needs to find a job somewhere else. There isn't another urologist in town. read more

My son was a patient there for almost two years, we recently moved to another medical provider. We left because he was misdiagnosed twice. He had a fever, coughing up green stuff, and had no voice. I was told by the doctor he had a virus. I got a second opinion at Highsmith-Rainey Express Care that day. He had an upper-respiratory infection and an ear infection. He was immediately put on an antibiotic and a decongestant. He also was prescribed Duke's Mouthwash. The first time he was misdiagnosed by the same Dr. He missed 11 days of school being sick. He also had to go to the express care, that time. I was beyond disappointed with the level of service and my son not getting what he needed. read more

The epitome of poor/low quality healthcare. I selected this clinic based off of Google reviews, but I think the reviews I saw were for a different location, as the Hope Mills location is just poor quality all around, from the exterior of the building, to the interior, the front desk staff and the provider I saw. (Note: I've only taken my child here twice, which is enough to know that I needed to take him elsewhere.) The front desk staff has no idea what customer service means and they have no idea of how to explain any of their policies, it's like where were y'all trained......online? I think the provider I saw was a Nurse Practitioner, but I'm not really sure because she didn't formally introduce herself. My husband and I are new parents, with tons of questions and concerns, but the provider didn't care, she didn't even ask us if we had any questions. Our baby was spitting up a lot, we know that this is normal now, after we've transitioned to an amazing pediatrician, but Rainbow of Hope Mills simply told us to monitor the issue over the weekend; mind you we called them on a Thursday..... If you're looking for a reputable pediatrician, the Rainbow Pediatrics of Hope Mills isn't the place for you. Run the other way fast! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. This practice is anti family, anti breastfeeding and dangerous. Do not walk away from these people, run!!! My new born was struggling to eat and gain weight, even with a bottle, due to severe tongue tie and double lip tie, this office refused to give us a referral to get the surgery she needed done, at the location of our choice (which was through our very well known lactation consultant) so we had to pay the entire bill out of pocket and could not use our insurance. So, we told this office we were switching to another pediatrician office, and we told them to cancel the rest of our appointments. So what did they do? They called CPS and lied to them! They told CPS that our baby had failure to thrive (not true) and that we had missed several weight checks (also, not true, we told them we were switching and weight checks were being done at two other providers during the time it was taking to switch) so, while nothing came of the report, because it was obvious it was false, it was still very, very unethical to do that to us when we are already struggling with our baby and doing the best we can for her. The provider told us that "formula was very convenient, and, all babies have tongue ties" they don't care about family or your plans for your own children. Do not trust them with yours. I have no idea how this place has ever won an award. Makes me sick! Definitely lessens the meaning of any award given to them, it's obviously not graded on how they care for their patients or treat their families. read more

I must say...the outside doesn't look like much. But once you walk inside, it's small, colorful, tons of children's books, tv for them to watch and a small activity center on the wall for the kids to keep themselves busy while they wait to be seen. The staff is VERY friendly and VERY helpful!! I had a couple of issues and they were willing to go out of their way to help. Some other places would have sent you on your way since it wasn't their problem. The individual patient rooms are all themed differently and most importantly....CLEAN!!! read more

I am very thankful for this clinic. My son was wrongfully diagnosed with "allergies " at the Fastmed urgent care and rainbow pediatrics agreed to see him the same day I called and begged for help. They got him In That day and treated him for scarlet fever. I called two days later to make sure his recovery symptoms were on track and they called me back right away with more helpful tips to keep him comfortable . I appreciate doctors and staff that can help a desperate mom and a very sick toddler. read more

I recently moved from out of state and needed a pediatrician for my son. He needed an additional shot for middle school. I stopped by the Hope Mills office and they took my name and address. They said I would receive a form in a few days. One week passes, no form, so I go in again and inform them that the "form" never came. Then two weeks later I received the form to complete. I hand delivered it to the office thinking I would expedite the process, WRONG! Instead of giving me an appointment for one shot, ANOTHER week passes and still nothing. This is the worst run company! At this point we are nearing the 30 day deadline to have the shot for school or be he would have to stay home. I finally ended up calling the main office and spoke to someone and then 3 days later I got a call asking me if I wanted to schedule an appointment! Are they serious? I just laughed and the pediatrician down the street made an appointment for the next day, no problems. They were friendly and welcoming and my son got his shot on the 27th day but NOT from this place. Ugh, working people don't need these unprofessional hassles. read more

Very sorry practice. We never seen the same dr when we went at this location or other. Front staff was rude. One lady dr in hope mills was horrible and dismissed my daughter as a patient after we been going there since birth. Never missed an appt and had great insurance. She just had her ass on her shoulders when I asked about flu shots. read more

Brought both of my girls to the Hope Mills office on the recommendation of a few people that had been living in the area. I called prior to making an appointment to make sure that they would not have an issue taking care of my youngest daughter, who has Autism and has a few maintenance medications that I wanted to make sure they were ok with, along with her issues with socialization that comes with Autism. They assured me that their doctors were very capable of dealing with Autistic children and their needs. So, I took them in for physicals and all that went well. Just had to pay our copay and away we went. Our next appointment was in in June 2017, our Autistic daughter went in for a hearing test for school and failed. We were told to have her examined by her pediatrician for recommendation on treatment or discovery of cause of hearing issue. After Dr. Black looked at her ears and performed some test and then she told us that we needed to take her to an ENT. We never received an explanation as to why she needed to see a specialist just they were referring her to one. After taking her to see the ENT, it was found she had a blockage due to wax build up!! So $500.00 to see the ENT and an ear flush later, our daughter passed her hearing test with no problem. When the simple wax blockage was brought to the Hope Mills, Rainbow pediatrics office's attention, we were told, "We don't remove foreign objects from ears". Since when is wax a foreign object? So why weren't we told that was the issue and given the opportunity to 1. Remove it ourselves, or 2. Go see another pediatrician that had the skills to remove it? I have never had a pediatrician refuse to remove a foreign object from a child's ear and I'm the mother to 8 children!!! After a few appointments, we started being billed $146.00 which I paid $50.00 on the bill. I thought the bill seemed a little much and when I questioned it, then they said, oh, you shouldn't be paying that, let us check on that for you and we'll get back to you. So our next appointment, I made sure to inquire if they had a resolution and they are still telling me they are checking into it. Low and behold, at another appointment, they are then threatening not to see my daughter because we haven't paid the balance! The people running this office are rude. They tell you one thing and do another. The lack or organization is appalling. I called our insurance myself and was told the reason the bill wasn't being covered was because they were using the wrong billing code. They were using a diagnosis code of "Non-routine procedure". Insurance stated all they had to do was resubmit with a proper code and it would be covered with just our normal copay being due. We were told by Rebecca, in the hope mills office, that they would NOT resubmit the bill because that is the only code they had to put in. I finally called the actual billing department and got it straightened out, but what a nightmare!! If they didn't want to check into it, they simply could have told me that I needed to contact my insurance as they weren't sure where they billing issue was. No problem, I would have done so, I am capable of picking up a phone. I only waited because I was told they would check into it and I tend to believe someone when they say they will do something, but now I know better when it comes to this office. Then, to top it all off, my autistic daughter has two medications that she has been on for years before moving to NC and coming to this office. They absolutely refused to write a prescription for and wanted to make me take her to a Neurologist, which would be another $500.00 since our insurance doesn't have co pays for specialists. Did these doctors go to medical school? Her Michigan pediatrician sent you her records where she had been prescribed this medication and has been using it without issue but apparently you have a different medical degree that doesn't allow you to prescribe the same medication. Please, don't bother asking me to call and speak to Felisha about my concerns, she will tell you she will discuss it with whoever and will NEVER get back with you. I could definitely go on, but I've already wrote a book. Let me just say, if you're looking for a pediatrician, please RUN, don't walk to a different one. It will not only save you money, but also your dignity and blood pressure. read more

I was recommended to Rainbow Pediatrics by my sister who's son goes to the Raeford office, but wish I would have gone else where. OVERCHARGING When I first visited the week my son was born they continued to have me visit every 3 days. Not knowing any better I began being charged office visits. Come to find out they believe my son was not gaining weight as he should. This was NEVER disclosed during his visits. So I literally paid for they to weigh him for 2 weeks. When I asked about the charges is when I was informed it was not a well visit. Things got better until I was over charged a few months later again. My insurance at the time covered everything at 100% to include non-well visits. They tried to say I had a copay which I didn't. After that was straighten out my insurance coverage changed again. I had a 300 deductible. Not once did I pay anything extra, they always billed me. I moved to a different job which moved to different insurance, now a 3000 deductible. My son was in every other day for something for about a week. Now they refused to bill me and required I pay upfront charging me 70% of his bill. Within a week I dropped over $700 at their office. Come to find out their office policy is the 70% not the insurance and they over charged me. I went for a visit a few weeks later and discover a $200 credit. After weeks of asking for a refund I finally got it. Now this year my insurance is back to the 300 deductible. Once again i pay $10 for non well visits. I have been taking my son there for the last 3 months on this insurance and they over charged me the first month because the insurance wasn't able to be confirmed. I just last week got that refund check after asking for 2 months. Also this last week they said his non well visits are now $20. I was obviously upset. This isn't the first nor second time this office has over charged me. I called the insurance company right their and they said the doctor office filed the claim wrong. PERSCRIPTIONS My son has cronic infections, so when we go to the doctor they normally send a perscription to the pharmacy. I can think of at least 3 times I have had to call the nurse line because the office closed and the pharmacy never got the perscription. Also the doctor doesn't look at the chulds records to see what allergies they may have before submitting the perscription. OVERALL The claims, insurance staff needs to be fired. I did not like this place. I specifically joined yelp to just write this review. I am brand new to the area and this place was recommended to us by a neighbor so I went not knowing anything about it other than "it was good". It was anything but good for me and my 6 month old son. When he got his 6 month check up a pediatrician didn't even see him. It was a nurse who went over his basic physical check up. She never checked his eyes or hearing. All she did was put him on his belly to see if his head and neck were strong. She never took his temperature and she had my son receive 2 vaccine shots. It is extremely dangerous to give a baby shots with a fever. Luckily my son was fine, but I found it extremely unprofessional to give my son shots without even checking his temperature or even looking at his hearing or vision first. When they did his measurements they verbally told me what percentile he was in for growth charts. When i asked if they were going to write it down for me the nurse said, "we don't normally print that stuff out, but I can do that for you." Thank you for printing it out for me, but why on earth would you not provide the parent with that basic information?? My son is also on a vitamin supplement since i am strictly breastfeeding and he doesn't get Vit D from my breastmilk like formula does. The nurse never even touched on that or said anything about supplements with vitamins. Finally, the clincher was when the nurse gave me baby Advil to give to my son for pain from the shots. She wrote the dosage on the box for me, which was 3 mL. When I pulled back the ingredients label though, there was a dosage label under it which said to not give more than 1.25 mL to infants 6 months or 12-17 lbs which my son falls in that category. The nurse is telling me to give my baby almost THREE times the recommended dosage. If i hadn't checked that back label I could have gravely hurt my child. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! They are amateurs and do the bare minimum. I felt like they didn't know what they were doing. I left an AMAZING pediatrician in Minnesota, and I am more than disappointed with Rainbow Pediatrics. I didn't even get a real pediatrician! Wouldn't you want a real pediatrician to see a brand new patient for the first time??!! I was not impressed at all. read more
