Review I've given…read morethis place multiple chances because I genuinely like to support local businesses, but after multiple disappointing experiences, I can't recommend it. Our first bad experience involved burgers that were ordered medium to medium-well but came out burnt. Three burgers - all burnt! We literally had to cut the burnt portions off before eating them. We showed our server, who brought the owner over (she was in the kitchen that day and responsible for the burnt burgers). Instead of apologizing or showing any concern, the owner approached us aggressively and asked, "Why are you complaining?" After seeing the burgers, her response was simply, "What do you want? A new burger or this off your bill?" (table of 5, and 4/5 of us are service industry). For someone who has owned restaurants, I know mistakes happen, but the way customers are treated afterward matters. That interaction was far more disappointing than the overcooked burgers. We decided to give them another chance, and somehow this visit was even worse. We had a party of 11 (9 of us are service industry people) and found a way to seat ourselves (suggested by staff to find seats) and asked nearby table if we could borrow two unused chairs. The owner immediately came over, took the chairs back, and said, "I can't lose a four-top." Meanwhile, we were a paying party of 11, and that four-top remained occupied by the same two guests throughout our visit (perhaps the owner skipped BUS 101 or just doesn't do math well). Much less, a disappointing way to treat a large group of customers. Drinks. Appetizers. Meals. Easy $400 + tip. The service was incredibly slow. Of course we understand- it's a Friday night in the Northwoods. However, It took about 30 minutes just to receive our first drinks, while the other tables received theirs. Our appetizers didn't arrive until roughly 45 minutes later while we watched everyone around us get drinks & food. Our server told us she'd be back in three minutes to take our food order, but after another 30 minutes, I had to find her so she could take our order from my phone. We ordered another round of drinks, watched nearly every other table on the patio receive their food and drinks before us, and then decided to go indoors to grab our drinks from very friendly bartenders. They were great!!!! 90 minutes later, we were still waiting for our meal. I walked over to our server and politely asked when we could expect our food, since every other table around us had already been served - she said ours was "next" and blamed us for the wait time because we ordered two pizzas with the seven other meals. Instead of checking on our order or apologizing for the delay, the owner confronted me and told us we needed to leave. She said that her employees felt uncomfortable and that she was offended because I had approached her with my phone and asked about the status of our order. Normal to ask - not normal for customers to find their server in the restaurant to ask. After she kicked us out, she wanted us to pay for our one round of drinks and three apps. As an owner, if I'm kicking someone out - I don't want their money - I just want them to leave, lol. After waiting over an hour and a half for food that never arrived, being asked to leave for simply inquiring about our order was something I've never experienced in all my years of dining out or owning restaurants. Everyone can have an off day, but we've now had multiple poor interactions with the owner. The consistent issues have been the owner's attitude, extremely slow service, and a lack of respect for customers. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but after giving this place multiple chances, I feel it's only fair to let others know what they may experience before deciding to dine here.

Their shuffle board table is one of the best I've ever played on -- full sized, smooth and fast. It may take a few tries to get the hang of it, but once you get zeroed in it makes for a great game. And, of course, as their name implies, the featured activity is axe throwing. Tossing a dangerous tool, trying to stick it in a wooden wall, and hitting the target for maximum points is harder than it looks. For a variety of reasons, last night was the first time we stopped in for a burger and beer. I'm sure it won't be the last. Orders for food and drinks are placed at the bar. You can eat at the bar or one of several tables just off to the side. Food and drinks are cash only and the kitchen doesn't have the capacity to serve groups larger than six to eight. They have a small but decent selection of tap beer and of course a full bar. The burger I ordered was as good as any I've had at a local bar and grill -- thick, juicy, topped with cheese, onions, mushrooms, and a tasty (though generic) BBQ sauce. An ample amount of fries (skin on) completed the basket. They offer a number of set combinations or you can "build your own" with any of the ingredients they stock in the kitchen. I might not be a regular--I only occasionally indulge in burgers like these--but I'll come back for another, hopefully sooner than 35 years from now.
