Heart II is one of the few places we were able to find open on a super hot Monday night. They were busy but we were able to be seated right away, we were also thrilled to have solid AC. Our waitress was clearly flustered by the crowd but still did a great job. We ordered the crab rangoon pizza for an app and it was so good. Loved the hot honey crust! For our meals we had the Black and Bleu burger, coconut shrimp, Italian beef, and a kids corn dog. Everything was exactly as we hoped coming to an up north bar/grill. read more

What happened here? I've been here now 3 times and it's gone from great to less great, to terrible in a span of about a year. Today's meal was not good, except the Duck Wonton's which were okay. My French Onion Soup was so heavily spiced (like chill power?) that I couldn't eat it. My wife's salad looked great until she started to eat it and most of the toppings and lettuce were way past their prime (soft and wilted). My side broccoli was cold and had to be sent back to be re-microwaved. With a couple of drinks and tip this meal was $85 and so not worth it for bad bar food. Got our drinks, but then waited for over half an hour and still the waitress did not come back to take our food order. Went inside and watch that she was taking care of customers that came in after us and then I finally decided to go pay for the drink that I had and that's when she's like oh I was just coming out to help you and I said don't bother. Nice owners, my chicken Parmesan sandwich was good their sauce is nice tasting. And the pizza was like most pizzas ( I'm not a pizza fan), BUT The loaded tater tots are great!!! It's just an old fashion Wisconsin eating place. Not fancy and they've added an outdoor space. We've been going here since the 80's. There are families with small kids and singers eating at the bar. I have been to Heart ll a few times and was always impressed with the food and service. Unfortunately I think Heart ll had an off night. My daughter and I both had the French onion soup. It was burnt. The cheese was brown on top. I had the coconut shrimp with sweet potato fries and all of it was over done and parts of the shrimp and fries had black spots on them. I was hungry so I didn't send it back but I should have. The other issue was that our waitress was not accessible. She delivered our food then went back to the kitchen. I have had the soup and coconut shrimp before and it was great. Hoping this was just an off night. Willing to give it another try. read more

I love going going to Heart 2 to see Brooklyn and Liz. They are wonderful bartenders and bust their asses! The food there is delicious... I've been going there for years and never had a bad meal. Don't forget folks... people wait for EVERYTHING. If you are in a hurry or are impatient... STAY HOME! Don't take it out on the workers... they are doing the best that they can and don't need to be putting up with someone attitude on top of being short staffed. Show them they are appreciated by being there. Did a pick up order last night. Some normalcy at this time by having one of the best fish fries in the area. Great Brewhouse combo app. Plenty of food for the two of us. Horrible service. Waited 1 hour & 20 minutes for our food, which never came. Other tables were being served who came in much later than us. We had 3 people in our party, ordered a Caesar Salad, Quesadilla's & a BLT. Should have been out in 15 minutes. It wasn't even that busy. My brother asked twice about our orders & was told the other tables ordered appetizers, have no idea what that has to do with us having to wait so long for our food. We were there on a Thursday afternoon. They weren't busy but service was slow and kinda made me feel like we were a pain to serve. We ordered a pizza .. sausage on one side snd vegetables on the other side. They said that wasn't possible since the sausage side would be done before the vegetables. I didn't feel like explaining that the vegetables didn't need to be WELL done so settled for just cheese on one side. I think that they just didn't want to bother and since we weren't drinking and weren't regulars they didn't really care whether we liked it or not. I probably won't go back. I do have to say that the cheese pizza was ok.. not great .. but not awful either. read more

One of the best Friday Fish Frys around!The baked French onion soup is outstanding. I think it is the best I ever had! The place was jammed for the Friday fish fry but, the staff turned tables quickly and efficiently. The waitress's helped each other and which made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Just like a bad relationship, things started out great. Lindsey came over and sweet talked us from the start. Drinks came out right away, appetizers came out right away. About 20 minutes into our relationship (appetizers), we decided it was time to take the next step, order dinner. Lindsey took our order and then disappeared for 30 minutes. Multiple people at our table got up to go to the bathroom across the restaurant and she was nowhere to be found. All of our drinks were empty. A table sat down next to us and ordered pizza.. they got their food, ate, paid their tab and left and we still had no food. We started to wonder if we were being neglected and went on the search for our server. She said she didn't know how long the food would be but that the order was in. Finally, after an hour and 15 minutes the food started to arrive. 2 of our 7 guests got their food. It wasn't until 15 minutes later that everyone at the time finally got food. Kids meal was lukewarm at best. Salad was skimpy when it's usually great. Lindsey had no remorse and did not check on us while we ate. She was seen behind the bar looking very relaxed talking to other customers. We asked for boxes twice and we still haven't gotten them as we sit at the table, wallowing. This is very disappointing for such a great establishment that we love to come to. We can only hope that next time we come back things would be better.. we have been here more than 2 hours and just want to go home, but can't get to go boxes or our waitresses attention. read more

We came here three times on a six day trip, does that tell you enough about what we think of the place? It's Wisconsin at it's finest! A bar with awesome bar food, reasonable drink prices, and a great deck. Really everything we had was cooked perfectly. Some of the highlights were the fried pickles, cobb salad, specialty burgers, and Friday night fish fry. It's a great spot for kids, as they have video game tablets on the tables. Heart II and Meg delivered some great bar food on this sunny fall day. Loved our visit. Meg was friendly and helpful as this was our first visit. We tried the Cowboy corn nuggets - delicious, you have to try them...and the Pickle chips - pretty good, batter was maybe a little thicker than I'd like but they are still good. We split the Classic BLT - wow - super good. We'll definitely be back - we love sitting at the bar as they have these wooden boards that will nicely on the bar rail so you don't have to stretch out over the bar to eat your food - great invention. When you are headed to the Northwoods on Hwy 51 or East towards St Germain - Heart II is conveniently located near the new Kwik Trip - easy to find - stop in for a cold adult beverage and a delicious pizza or some great Northwoods bar food - I know you'll enjoy your visit. read more

The duck cream cheese wontons so good, i was here on Monday night had wings for $0.60 each the spicy garlic breaded were fabulous just enough heat to tingle around lips without burning anything. Great service I'll be back, the bartender at the Thirsty Whale reccomended it for the burgers . The prices are reasonable not crazy tourist prices. read more

Heart II is our favorite for soup lunches, but I have to say they have fantastic pizza too! We so appreciate that they are open during April when many restaurants are not. Was right around the corner from where I parked my truck. Started with a well Rita which was good. Appetizer was a cup-o-chili served with cheese and chopped onions on the side. They forgot our side orders of cole slaw, but we didn't know until we got to our campsite 20 min away (lesson learned: check before leaving parking lot). In the Summer they have league volleyball, and in the Winter, they are right on the snowmobile trail. When you walk in you'll notice it's dark.. really dark if it was bright outside- -there's just not enough windows!, and after you've acclimated to the light, you'll be overcome by the smokiness. With that out of the way, the dart board works great, there is usually free pool, the beer is affordable and the food is fantastic for bar food.... well, it is just Really good for food I didn't cook myself. The PIZZA is out of this world!~ and available for carryout. (whatever you order, get it with Garlic -- Ahhhhhh!) This past weekend they even made a good Apple-tini for a friend who said it was Great. read more

This place has horrible service. I get it's busy on a Friday night because of this north woods ritual for fish fry. My husband and I walk in to the bar and waited for awhile. The bartender completely ignored us and did not acknowledge us but managed to get the people that came in behind us a drink. I thought she seen us but she was just looking in our direction to yell at the hostess behind us forcing us to move out of her way. Completely unacceptable way for any employee of any establishment to act. I will not be returning and would strongly encourage anyone that asks about this place to do the same read more

Beware-Not good ! Don't waste your money! Go somewhere else! Went for fish fry with friends. Fried cod was like sushi. I sent it back to have it cooked longer. It was still soggy inside. Ate 3 small bites and couldn't continue. Complained to waiter who called the manager who called the owner. The owner would not reimburse me , she would not take half off, or anything off the bill, or offer to exchange meal for something else as I couldn't eat my fish. (I did eat the baked potatoe -off my napkin as waiter took the original plate of fish away- also ate the marble bread that came with the meal which had no taste). The owner actually insinuated that We were lying and would not reduce the bill. My friend had the Cod too, it was very mushy and watery, she couldn't eat her fish either. Waiter cleared her plate away before owner could see the proof of the uneaten meal. Owner did see my uneaten meal. We had to pay the full price of the meal we couldn't stomach to eat.
