After a spontaneous chat at a local restaurant, I learned the woman across from me is a 20-plus-year veteran of bodywork. Who has an office four minutes down the road. With exactly one available appointment the very next day. My ailing shoulder screamed in fated anticipation. Roughly 18 hours later, I arrived at her calming, welcoming space in Lakewood. We started with a thorough consultation, where I informed her of previous masseuse attempts to fix my shoulder situation (resulting in multi-day muscle spasms--fun!), and then I settled in for the best massage I've received in a long time. Like I said, body magician. She knows how to find what ails you and ever-so-gently coax it to recover. After an hour of deep Swedish, I sat up feeling at least 70% better in the shoulder and 100% relaxed, soothed and devil-may-care everywhere else. Then, it got better. I woke up to a beautiful blank slate the next morning: no pain anywhere. I've done 1.5 hour massage sessions with ashiatsu that included the back walking and other modalities, plus reflexology, foot scrub and/or energy healing - about a 2 hour session. The control and focus that she has while doing the ashiatsu is amazing - she can focus with her feet as well as anyone can with a hand/fingers, with the additional weight/pressure. If you want a longer session, she's a little hard to book spontaneously, and her schedule is a little limited with no weekends and no Wednesdays. That said... I highly recommend giving her a try!
