This place is ope 2r hours so come and enjoy a drink or food. The hamburgers and fries are terrible if you're American. But the chicken wings and dishes with rice are spot on so you cannot lose there. If you're American accept the fact you'll sacrifice western comfort foods for more value with your favorite drink or another type of food available that is just as good if not better. The staff is solid and considerate with a no b.s. attitude so take care of them. You get a lot of rowdy patrons here but every one here wants a good time so roll with the vibe of the place. You have options as a couple or a large party for a more private experience at any time of the day so if you have no idea where to go no matter what time it is come here and you'll have all your needs met for a good time. Strongly recommend this place but can use improvement in service and cleanliness.

I'd like to do this review and share our experiences from planning and the actual event. First of all, I give Anne, the Sales Reservation Officer 5 stars for her assistance through the process. I am based abroad and I did everything remotely and it was not easy. She was very attentive and truly cares in giving us a great experience at this club. We encountered some mishap on the function room set up and she facilitated the set up changes we requested and still able to meet our timeframe. The event was a family reunion which entails a lot of bonding and therefore this Agono & Barras rooms should not be recommended to cater for this purpose because the divider cannot be opened fully to have 1 big function room . The food was delicious from the main to the desserts but the best part are the service staff. They were attentive and catered to everything we needed. Lastly, this club has a very old and dull looking facade. The club sign is an eye sore and truly needs some serious refurbishing. It matters because that's the first thing you see and the club sign would be nice to be featured on the video of the event. That takes out 1 star for this my review. Thank you Anne and to your wonderful service staff.

Though the facilities are not as new or "flashy" as the other clubs in the Makati area, Valle Verde Country Club or VVCC feels like a second home for me and my family. I spent my summers here with my friends and cousins. This is where we would have Sunday lunches with family and friends. My dad and brother still go here on weekdays to play tennis. I go here to eat! :) Like any club, you need to be a member to get into VVCC. I only get to eat here because of my dad's membership and he's been a member since the 70's. Some of the waiters here have been working for VVCC since the 80's and know the members like they were family. They know my dad so well that, once they see him, they will have his regular order prepared! The food here is top-notch and they also make a point to add new dishes every month. My favorite dishes are the Pork Chops (two thick pork chops + rice and unli-gravy), Corned Beef, Lengua con Champignon (ox tongue with mushroom butter sauce), and Roast Beef. All their dishes are delicious. I haven't ordered anything I did not like. On Sundays, they have their lunch buffet which includes made-to-order Mongolian rice and barbecue/grilled meats. The lunch sets are "super sulit" and the desserts/pastries are very good too! Did I mention that their dishes each cost about Php250-350 only? Nice! :D Lastly, they also have a "Party Pack" or "Christmas Specials" menu! Available for Take-out and Pick-up, their big orders are perfect for special occasions or get-togethers with family and friends. My dad ALWAYS orders their Paella and Chicken Galantina! I also recommend their Roast Beef. Super delicious dishes! Saves you time and energy come Noche Buena! :D

Last weekend we rolled in around happy hour, grabbed some loaded nachos and wings that hit way better than your average bar food (that Sofitel polish really shows), and just vibed with the pool view in the background. Staff were super friendly, kept the drinks coming without us even having to flag them down, and the whole place has this fun, laid-back energy that makes you forget you're in a hotel. Perfect for pre-gaming before a concert at MOA Arena or just unwinding after a long week. Easily 5 stars--will keep coming back.

On these rare occasions of doing guy things with my friends (unfortunately us girls can't always choose shopping, coffee shops, mani-pedi, brunch, or wine bars as a bonding activity), we would end up bowling or at a pub/sports bar. SNAPS bar is one of the places we go to for some beer and to shoot some pool then go hang out by the bay for sunset or hang out just after sunset. Drinks are hotel priced so expect to pay a little bit more than your usual pub. Service is good and the bar chow is what you would expect from a hotel bar. There's also happy hour from 5-8PM so that can also be an alternative venue for some post-work drinks or apero. Just a word of caution: try not to drink too much, otherwise, you may end up gambling at the casino just next to it!

I love exploring and discovering new areas so I super enjoyed the trip. My night ended in Cafe 1977, a small house-turned bar near the Kamuning area. I loved the vibe of this place, a little like a secret club and a lot like someone's den. Their sofa lay outs on the second floor was perfect for chill night-caps with a bunch of friends. My friends and I took a table and ordered some drinks, they had quite an impressive cocktail list for a place that seemed very beer-friendly. I ordered myself a Honey Bee, iced tea with Jack Daniel's Honey, it was surprisingly super good with a great kick too! We ended up ordering tokwa't baboy also, it seemed a little pricey, but when it arrived it was worth it, huge chunks of pork and super crispy tofu, I really liked it! Mind you, this was in the early part of the 00s, and I was still a student back then and couldn't really afford to hang out at swankier places (I was also really trying to be 'punk' at the time). While Millennia is long-gone, 77 Bar remains. It's a beautiful converted-house bar that houses a really intimate ambiance. Both indoor and outdoor seating options are great, and you can smoke both in and outside. I remember attending a college event at 77 Bar back in '06, where I met a boy that I would date for awhile. So it stands to reason that 77 Bar has a special place in my heart, even if that boy no longer does. Another great thing about 77 Bar is that they actually serve really good bar chow. Their Butter Chicken is a delicious artery-clogging mess, as are their pizzas - but what do you expect to eat when you're drunk on a night out? If you're looking for an unpretentious place to hang out that doesn't require a stringent dress code or want to avoid places where pretentiousness is the order of the day, 77 Bar is a great place to hang out, and is definitely one of Quezon City's best open secrets.

I've only been to the Palace Pool Club twice, both during special events with international DJs. The first was their two year anniversary with Yellow Claw in April 2017 and the second was Flume's first show in Manila just recently in December 2017. The two year anniversary show with Yellow Claw seemed to have went on without a hitch. I arrived past midnight with my friend and getting in was a breeze. There was no crowd outside; everyone was inside and the dance floor was easy to navigate. HOWEVER, just recently with this Flume event, it was an absolute disorganized MESS. Apparently, the Palace Pool Club was hosting a private company event earlier that evening prior to Flume. Mind you, doors usually open at 9 p.m. but due to the private event, we were informed doors wouldn't be opened until 11:30 p.m., as the private event would end at 11 p.m. This was only advertised on their Facebook page and an obscure Instagram post. Otherwise, a vast majority was completely left in the dark. It was already 11:30 p.m. and there were at least a hundred people gathered around the designated tents. The bouncers had NO IDEA how to organize the lines and they constantly contradicted each other. One bouncer forced our already created line to move to a new tent and then another bouncer forced the line to move back. I, along with everyone else, was pissed because we were the first ones in that already formed line. I noticed here in the Philippines, locals choose to avoid conflict and would rather suffer in silence by choosing to stay silent. However, I am NOT one of those people. I told the bouncer it was not fair to allow this new line to cut ahead of the line that was already fully formed. The fully formed line was moved to one area and then back again because of another bouncer's irresponsible negligence and lack of information and organization. His response? "Well, this line ahead of you doesn't have too many people." There were at least 25 people in that line. I strongly responded, "It doesn't matter. We were here first and we moved because we were told to move by a bouncer who was clearly misinformed and knew nothing. This is all extremely disorganized." I could tell the bouncer was nervous I would either get him in trouble or incite a riot amongst the angry crowd so he created a separate line for us. Even being in the front of the line, there was more waiting. Already annoyed, I did not appreciate being left in the dark, literally. It was not until around 12:15 a.m. when I was able to temporarily restrain my irritation over the highly disorganized event and I kindly asked the woman in charge of validating passes, when we would be able to proceed into the venue. She responded positively and made a phone call. Five minutes later, passes were then being validated... only to be slowed down by iPad scanners that were malfunctioning... AGAIN, JUST AN ABSOLUTE DISORGANIZED MESS. I'm glad I opened my big mouth because we all would have been left completely in the dark, just aimlessly waiting. At least things got done after I spoke up. Whoever is running The Palace Pool Club, you literally need to get your team and all that shit together. You all NEED to COMMUNICATE. Not just amongst yourselves but with the people who paid their hard earned money to see a show at your venue. Don't leave us hanging in the dark because you all WILL get cursed out. The Palace Pool Club, I hope this serves as a lesson to be better prepared for future events because this one was a disaster. Flume was the saving grace of it all. ***ALSO, who the hell approved a private company event literally mere hours before a major show by an international DJ that has been heavily advertised on social media since the SUMMER?! I do NOT see ANY logic in making such a decision. You all obviously thought you could get the venue cleared out in time and maintain order but you were all dead wrong. I think it was mere luck the event proceeded as scheduled by getting everyone inside within the hour. Marc Naval, the Palace's resident DJ, deserved a slightly longer opening set and Flume deserved to be treated with greater significance and respect with an artist of his stature by reserving that night to be solely HIS.***
