While it is sometimes difficult to get a receptionist on the phone, Summers Medical offers walk-in hours in addition to scheduled appointments.They even have Saturday hours! I had a regular doctor at another location and my last two visits there were not great ( I had appointments booked and ended up driving back home without seeing him . even one booked appointment I found out he was on vacation ). About a decade ago, I was injured at work and decided to stop in and see what they can do for me. I was introduced to Dr. Haroon Hamid. He took great lengths to listen and he genuinely cared about my well being. Since then , he became my personal doctor and has always been really professional and courteous. He is not one of those doctors that listens, grabs the prescription pad, makes a scribble and off you go. Thats just not him. Regardless of what others have said about the clinic and Dr Hamid , I have always found it to be the opposite. Staff are friendly and the wait times are not more than an hour ( if you do a walk in ). If you live close to this clinic and are looking for a good family doctor, this is the place I would recommend.

While highly intuitive and observing, he won't jump to conclusions before he's gotten the necessary x-rays or MRIs to be absolutely sure. But his initial diagnosis has always been spot on. He's a friendly doc who, unlike many docs, isn't rushing in and out of rooms. He takes time to talk with you. He's older, so he went to med school about 40 years ago but keeps up on all the recent research. When you come into his office, he is usually at his desk doing some reading of the latest medical journals. It's probably why he has so many patients and can't accept new patients. Also if he knows you don't have a medical plan he's very generous with samples from pharmaceutical companies.

I have to say as a family physician I think it's a little irresponsible to not be available for patients that have working hours. Dr. Stromberg is a new Doctor there who took over my file when my Doctor retired. She did not even…read moreread my file to see what medications I have been on or what sort of therapy I have already done. She suggested things that had already been done. Dr. Stromberg doesn't look at you during your appointment, like she can't be bothered. If you are there and need to show her why you came in, she tells you, "I don't need to see it" in a snarky matter. Then how can you help fix it if you don't know what it is? I have another family member that was transferred to her as well. She was called into the office for test results and Dr.Stromberg did not even know why she was there. Dr. Stromberg didn't bother to find the letter to see the results, just started making her own suggestions. When people have been going through years and years of treatment already, and the doctor cannot even be bothered to read anything to make NEW and APPROVED suggestions, it is a waste time. Dr. Stromberg could care less about her patients and this is coming from multiple ones. Never did get the test results.

When they contacted me to tell me my case had been assigned, they informed me that the gynaecologist who was going to be my doctor was a man. I have severe CPTSD, which is related to trauma from men. So I requested a woman for my doctor instead. They not only refused to change my case over to one of their multitude of other woman physicians, they told me that if I wanted to wait until one became available, they would simply reject my case altogether, and refuse to treat me. I spoke to both their receptionist, and the office manager. Both echoed the exact same sentiment, and one went so far as to call me "ridiculous" for request a woman physician, due to my CPTSD, and tried to frighten me by using scare tactics regarding my medical condition(which is benign) in order to pressure me into accepting the physician they had assigned to my case, and laughed at me when I informed her that it was my legally protected right as a Canadian citizen to choose a physician I am comfortable with. I would never, ever even consider recommending this clinic to anyone, and would strongly encourage any woman to avoid it at all costs. What an absolutely deplorable, and unprofessional medical facility, and this is speaking as someone who was raised in a family with medical backgrounds. This clinic should not be in business.

The worst... So rude…read more.. If you have to reschedule more than once you are dropped as a patient. if you don't confirm your appointment you get cancelled and then dropped as a patient. Stay away... if their physicians are as bad as reception you could be in trouble!
