Dr Jeffrey seems to prey on the wallets of people in pain that have little hope. Read on to see why. The staff there is awesome though. Casey was fantastic btw. I received a coupon to get an evaluation at Raleigh Spine Clinic. I met Dr. Jeffrey and had a consultant with him. I brought my MRI with me. I have severe compression with a herniation at L5/S1. At that point I had a burning pain in both my knees from the compression. Dr. Jeffrey talked to me about how decompression would fix MY situation and gave me a whole packet on it. He said that too many people go straight to surgery rather than decompression. He quoted that 98% of people do not need surgery and decompression fixes them. It also said, that this is not one of those situations where you have to do treatments forever. He said that 8 weeks is all I would need to be healed. He claimed that decompression gently pulled apart the spine and rehydrated my disc enough for it to heal completely. It did help while I was doing it, but I ended up having to take a week off (to go out of town)and the pain came back. Essentially, you do get temporary relief because it increases the space in the vertebra. But, that doesn't last long. He said my issue while I was out of town was because of the hard bed I was sleeping on. So, I went back to the decompressions. When I reached the end of my total sessions I still wasn't good. So, he extended my sessions. Still no fix. He called me his problem child. After that he said we would have to do maintenance, which costs me another $1700. But, he claimed at the beginning it was one and done. Seemed like I was taken advantage of. I came back for my final consult with Dr Jeffrey and brought a new updated MRI. The MRI showed no change in the disc at all. Dr Jeffrey then said it takes 6 months for the disc to heal. I was never told that and you would think it it would have changed some. The decompression cost me $5000. I didn't have that kind of money lying around, so I had to pull it from my 401k. At this point I asked Dr Jeffrey for some money back and told him I pulled it from my 401k. He had no empathy and offered me 6 more decompression sessions. Throughout this whole experience I had consults to how I was progressing. Each time Dr Jeffrey told me I was progressing nicely and the pain is the last thing to go away. He should have stopped me midway and said this may not be working for me and giving me some money back. It has been about 3 months since I was at Raleigh Spine Clinic. I was hopefully the Dr. Jeffrey was being honest and it would take some time for the disc to heal. But, still the same. I have surgery scheduled next month. I know I am not going to get a refund for this and I don't expect to at this point. The only thing I can do is try and help someone by telling them the truth about Raleigh Spine Clinic and Dr Jeffrey and maybe helping them not waste their money. Next steps are to contact the BBB and WRAL to see if they will speak to me. This false hope and manipulation needs to stop. read more

Saw Jeff today for a locked up SI joint. I've had this problem for several years and only occasionaly does it flare up. It was flared up today hence the visit. Jeff spent the most time trying to sell me on his "machines". It was an aggressive sales pitch. I felt like I was trapped in a time share sales presentation. He made extremely exaggerated claims about his treatment modalities. He indicated all his modalities were FDA approved, but when I looked them up they had FDA clearance - the standard is quite different! He should know that and not exaggerate. He told me he had a 100% success rate with his knee machine and everyone( yes he said EVERYONE) who used his knee therapy have avoided surgery, PT and injections. He said They are basically cured. I happened to be sitting next to a guy who had just come from PT and was using the machine for his knee and I asked him about it. I specifically asked if he felt any relief of his knee pain. He said "no". He has been doing the treatment for about a month he said. He did say he could move it better than before, but who knows if that is even good and he is still in a good amount of pain. I saw him limping into and out of the appointment. His goal was to avoid surgery and the jury is out he said on if he can. Meanwhile, he's paying a lot of money. I spent 5 minutes on basically a stim machine and a roller table( Jeff gave them fancier names) and then 3 minutes with Jeff, who did 3 adjustments to my back and said to come back in two days. Not going to be doing that! I would not recommend. In summary, the hard sales pitch, the ineffective "machines" and not much time with getting an adjustment, which is why I came in in the first place would make me not choose this place again. Oh, and if you go, bring actual cash, otherwise any other payment method incurs a 3.5% service fee. To me, that is unprofessional esp since they don't tell you that before you arrive. I would like to start off my review stating that the staff were extremely friendly and professional. The office is very nice and it seems like a great place for your health. However, I walked into this office Mid July 2024 with low back pain. To preface, I am a 32 year old male with no history of back issues or pain. After having a brief conversation about my symptoms with Dr Roistacher and standing on a foot pressure machine, he diagnosed me with an SI joint injury. What kind of SI joint injury? that was never mentioned as their are obviously several different types of injuries that can happen, it was never specifically stated. But I did not know that then. He did not do a comprehensive physical exam and he did not take X-rays so he had no idea what my spine actually looked like and took a guess with my health. He advised that I pursue "acoustic wave therapy" priced at $2000 for 8 sessions and $150 every session after the initial 8, once per week until the injury had healed. I ended up doing 9 total sessions which did offer temporary relief. After a few weeks of my last session my pain was right back to the same level of pain as the day I walked into their office and in some areas the pain had spread to other areas of my back including mid back after he adjusted my middle back/rib area which was the only time he adjusted me. After consulting with my primary doctor we agreed that an SI joint injury, if that diagnosis was accurate should have already been healed within 3 months of treatment and they recommended I go and see a different Chiropractor. I took that advise and the new Chiro took X-rays and did thorough physical exams determining that there was no si joint injury, and the cause of the pain in my lower back were due to subluxations of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. I spent $47 for a total of three adjustments and I was pain free after of a year of having chronic pain every day. I tried to have this resolved with them amicably in private but to no success which is why I am here. I have pursued a payment dispute with my financial institution, I have reported this gross malpractice to the NC board of Chiropractor Examiners. I did not want to do this, I just wanted to be pain free. Instead I was taken advantage of for 2 thousand dollars. read more

I argued with myself about whether or not to write this review in the first place as Dr. Roistacher responds with some intense rebuttals. However, I wish I would have had a heads up about this. First off Dr. Roistacher and his staff are extremely nice. They make you feel very welcome and are very accommodating with your schedule. The office is open in the evenings, which is very much appreciated. They are very thorough in their evaluations and have a number of treatments that are cutting edge. However, my major concern is their cost. I was told that my plan would cost $1,400. Let me be clear here, I have AMAZING insurance. This was way more than I was willing to spend on an alternative medicine treatment, so I ultimately declined. Out of curiosity, though, I reviewed my insurance policy the next day and found that this out-of-pocket expense was $600 higher than it should have been. They also requested that I pay the amount either up front or in installments. My company's insurance has asked us time and time again to have claims submitted directly to them. If we owe something, they will bill us. If we pay out-of-pocket like in this scenario, they can't get us the money back. I'm not sure why Raleigh Spine Clinic doesn't bill your insurance first. I see this as a major red flag. Also know going in that you will probably be seeing a lot of this place if you sign up for a treatment plan. I was told I would be doing a 10 weeks program with 30 visits and while in the waiting room I saw a lot of other people make 2 to 3 appointments for the following week. This isn't the sort of place where you go in for a quick check up or adjustment. This certainly could work with some people, but didn't sit well with me. Remember, too that there is no such thing as a quick fix. Weight loss, posture adjustment - these things take longer than a few months. The program might be intense, but in the end you have to rely on an overall lifestyle adjustment. read more

Dr. Jeff is the only chiropractor I have ever had who could keep me totally out of back and neck pain. And he does it gently and painlessly. I have also recently tried his laser treatments to heal a severely strained or sprained muscle and tendon in my shoulder. 4 laser treatments and I was healed (1 weeks time). I am now having laser treatments for radiation injury. I don't know the final results yet, but have seen a marked improvement. I am very hopeful and will post the end result when I know it. I did an appoint I got a discount on here on Yelp about 2 years ago. I had my first ever adjustment and I honestly felt great after. My posture was off and I could feel it, but didn't know until he did the scans. I have had a child since then and am ready to book another appointment, worried about the costs and how it will work out with insurance as I am a military dependent and getting care off post covered is very difficult. There are two doctors, Dr. Roistacher and Dr. Werness are both great. They explain everything prior to doing adjustment. They have a whole personalized plan setup for you. David is an awesome physical therapist. He keeps the actives fun, and always has a good joke to tell. He will work with you, and adjust the training to fit your comfort level. My other review was requested to be removed so let's try this again. I'm merely speaking my own truth and opinion. So I dont need a dm from anyone at the spine clinic regarding this post. Now on with my review. I have to admit both drs were knowledgeable and kind when dealing with them. However, many years later and im still not completely happy with my experience. During the initial consultation as an accident victim I was advised that I would be healed by the end of the treatment. This was far from the truth. They told my insurance company that i would heal like any other accident victim. You cant really say that because everyone's body heals differently. It takes 6 mths to a year to see the full extent of damages right? I don't feel that I began getting results until the last month or so of my treatment plan. They figured my healing should be farther along and decided to try other methods. They did help me a little but they didn't fully heal me as advised. My body was still in bad shape when my treatment ended. To date my body still has issues. Also, their treatment charges are way too pricey. Try to get a rough estimate of charges upfront. As far as treatment I don't recall ever being given the exact date that treatment would end. They let me slip 2 weeks past my end date before mentioning it had ended how convenient. That was several hundreds of dollars in their wallet. I hate to say but dealing with the office manager Heidi at that time was hit or miss. Sometimes the attitude would be good and very snappy at other times. Understand we all have bad days but no need to pass it along to others. On a happier note...The lady that assisted with physical therapy was awesome. Positive and highly energetic. The receptionist Brittany I believe it was she was truly amazing. Always going above and beyond to assist me. Each time I saw her she was smiling. She ended up leaving the clinic from what I understand. Hopefully all is well with her and the physical therapist I think she has left them as well. If it weren't for them my experience may have been worse. This allows you to make a decision on how to move forward with your care. It includes all of the awkward details, including pricing that you may not feel comfortable asking about. I appreciated knowing my cost for the treatment (as well as the expected duration and types of treatments) up front. This mean no surprises later on! PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY It was only because of the Yelp Reviews that I considered the Raleigh Spine Clinic. What a big mistake.I was injured in the line of duty as a US Marine many years ago and although I have lived with pain for many years on Dec 8th 2014 I woke up in unbearable pain in my sinuses along with ear pressure. It was so bad I could not hear out of either ear.I freaked out and rushed to the hospital and the doctors concluded that I had a bad sinus infection. I was pumped full of antibiotics to no avail. This went on for 5 months then at the urging of 2 of the 3 ENT doctors. I proceeded to have sinus surgery in May 16 2014. I had massive complications that hospitalized me for four days. This was a waste of time and expense ($14,300.00) for nothing,because the pain and pressure remained. I became discouraged and extremely depressed because no one had a clue what was causing my illness. One ENT specialist suggested I see an oral surgeon because thought I may have had a tooth impacting a nerve causing the pain. Out of desperation I had 3 wisdom teeth removed at cost of ($3400.00) Guess what? Nothing changed.At this point I went to the Veterans Administration because I could no longer afford to use my personal insurance. Looking back through my medical history the VA docs suggested I have an MRI done on my upper spine "Voila!" I had three bulging disks that was causing all this HELL at my C5, C6 and C7. The VA told me that surgery was my only viable option but, I was not about to go down this road without at least trying to rectify my condition by less invasive means.After what I had been through my wife suggested I use Yelp to help me pinpoint someone trustworthy. After seeing the reviews on Yelp I went to visit the Raleigh Spine clinic.I met with Dr. Weness and he seemed like nice guy and showed some level of concern about my ordeal. After reviewing my MRI he said even though my condition was pretty bad and he was confident that "NDS" would definitely help. I expressed my concern about being promised relief and there was very little data concerning the effectiveness of NDS. He then proceeded to tell me that they had a 98% success rate and there had only been two times where patients had not been helped by NDS. I asked him would my personal insurance or Veteran Administration health choice plan cover the NDS treatment. OK and this is where things started to go downhill. His answers became very vague and he said he would need to work up a treatment plan before he could determine what would be covered by insurance. Fast-forward to our next meeting. At this point I'm very anxious and somewhat hopeful and then he springs a $4500.00 treatment plan on me and tells me no insurance companies will pay for this NDS treatment because it's "relatively new". Ok so now I'm between a rock and a hard place. Do I walk away and miss getting relief from my suffering or do I find the money from somewhere. I asked "what happens if the treatment does not work for me, Will I still have to pay the $4,500.00?He replied "absolutely not we will re-access your progress after the 1st month and if it's not working will release you from any financial obligations and recommend a good neurosurgeon". At this point he gave me one of the cards he had on his desk to a REX hospital Neurosurgeon. Ladies and gentlemen I came up with $354.00 to start and agreed to pay $250.00 month. At the first assessment we both concluded that NDS was not working. Dr. Werness wished me well and that was the END - so I thought. TWO days after my last appointment I received an email stating I owe them for the 15 treatments at the tune of $1900.00. I emailed Dr. Werness to inquire why they were sending me a bills for treatment and the only response I received was from the other Doctor Jeffery Roistacher stating I had to deal directly with him only and I need to pay or they were turning my account over to their attorney. Guess What? The Sheriff showed up at my door in less than 30 days to server me with the court papers. I can't believe these guys. So, since I can't get any ware with these doctors and now they are hiding behind their lawyers and most likely the fine print in the 20 page contract. There is nothing left for me to do but fight. Update: 12/1/2015 Yippee! I WON the first leg of my appeal against these Spineless doctors all on my own without a lawyer. Lesson Learned YOU CAN STILL WIN AGAINST BIG CORPORATE GREED WITH THE TRUTH ON YOUR SIDE AND A LOT OF PRAYER .Unfortunately I now have to pull in an attorney to recover damages against these crooks. Can you believe they tried to submit a bogus patient ledger with fraudulent date's AND treatments? The Veteran administration couldn't either and has launched an investigative review. I have reached out to the local news and I stand a very good chance of fostering some support to fight against this VIOLATION of my PATIENTS RIGHTS and this unethical behavior. I have been going to Greater Raleigh Chiropractic for the last 2 months. I was very skeptical about the process, the cost, the benefits, etc. After going through a free health evaluation and gaining a better understanding of what my issues were and how they could effect me in the long term. I have gone through rehab, strength training, core work outs, adjustments, etc and can really feel a see a difference in my posture, energy, motivation, and pain. Dr. Jeff and his staff have been outstanding on my road to recovery. I was informed that I had a bulged disc. After some much needed sessions I am back to the things I love to do. A couple of the things that impressed me since my time there was Dr. Jeff's methodical approach in laying out what is going on, how long it will take and how it will be accomplished. An exercise plan is given to work the area needed and you learn not only how to do the exercise right but to do them at home when you need them. Lastly, the staff is not only knowledgeable about what they do, they are a very courteous and helpful. One thing to keep in mind when setting appointments. If they can be set before or after lunch it should be relatively quiet when going to your sessions or meet with the doc about recovery plans. If you go during lunch or after work it will be a little busy which might delay the allotted time you scheduled for your visit. My visits usually go 30-40 minutes during quiet times and 45-50 for busy times. read more

Chiropractor Jeffrey Roistacher is a lovely man and extremely pleasant. In regard to his personality and genuine demeanor, I would give him 5 stars. The purpose of my review is not to bash this practice, but to hopefully provide useful information to anyone reading this. Long story short: Go to an actual back doctor (a physiatrist or an orthopedist) with a medical degree BEFORE you go to the hassle and money-waster of seeing a chiropractor. The reasons I give this practice only 2 stars is because (1) almost everything I was told to purchase was unnecessary; and most importantly, (2) DC Roistacher failed to diagnose a serious back condition that will require a back brace and surgery. I was not aware of these oversights until I later went to a series of "second opinions" by physicians who specialize in the back and in the feet. This is the reason that I am writing this review a couple of years after the fact. Greater Raleigh Chiropractic quoted me a price of $300 for "foot levelers orthodics" and provided me with a very convincing, high-tech looking electronic diagram of how I balance the weight on my feet. DC Roistacher was adamant that this would help with my alignment, etc etc. So I took the printouts to an actual food specialist, a podiatrist. This doctor basically laughed at the printouts and told me I 100% do not need special orthodics. If you choose to go to Greater Raleigh Chiropractic and Rehab, be very careful what you say yes to. I strongly suggest a second opinion from a physician before making any sort of investment. The next part was a big mistake on my part -- hopefully if you're reading this you will be smarter than I was. I shamefully have to admit that I did not previously realize that there are medical doctors who specialize in the back!!! If you're having back pain, DO NOT START with a chiropractor. There is a huge difference in the skill level and the type of training they receive, compared to that of a physician who specializes in the back. Start with a physician and see if they advise seeing a chiropractor. I am now seeing an actual back specialist and he told me that I have a severe condition that requires surgery. This opinion has been seconded (and 'thirded', and so on, by many other physicians). It is significant to note that DC Roistacher failed to diagnose my condition. I am not bashing this man's profession; however, this goes to show you the difference between a medical doctor and a chiropractic doctor. I do not think that DC Roistacher is a dishonest man at all (like I said, he's a great guy), but I think that my physiatrist was spot on in saying this about chiropractors: "Given what they know, chiropractors do the best they can." read more

I had chronic neck pain for several years -- ultimately I sought help from Raleigh Spine Clinic. They had non-invasive ways of helping me deal with the issue and provided a comprehensive plan for making it so that I would not need to take drugs for the rest of my life to cope with the pain. Admittedly, I only implemented about 50% of my treatment plan but have nonetheless experienced a significant improvement to my qualify of life and hardly ever take pain medication of any kind. It was a low pressure environment and they often had deals I could take advantage of. My wife also sought treatment during her second pregnancy to deal with her hip issues, and she swears the treatments made her second pregnancy far more bearable. Would highly recommend. read more

I can't even describe the AMAZINGNESS that is Dr. Jeff and his staff. Look no further, this office is first class. Dr. Jeff, if you are reading this, feel free to share this review because I want to shout out to the world the immense gratitude I feel for your office's amazing customer service and care. I came to Dr. Jeff after a horrible experience at two The Joint locations in Raleigh this March. I was in desperate need of relief, guidance, and a doctor that truly knew what to do in my time of serious crisis. I had gotten a very bad adjustment for the third time at The Joint - extreme day long dizziness, previously almost nonexistent anxiety attacks also lasting all day, shaking on one side of my body and scary neurological symptoms that at the time could have been extremely serious. I called a ton of chiropractors the morning after and many couldn't take me in. Based on positive reviews, I thankfully found the Raleigh Spine Clinic, who took me in right away that morning. After seeing my symptoms, he did what any incredible and decent human being and doctor should have done - got me into the ER and to get the proper testing to make sure that The Joint didn't do any serious, life-threatening damage. Casey actually LEFT her post at the front desk to personally drive me to the ER and stayed with me until I was able to be seen. I have been seeing Dr. Jeff for over a month and a half now. Still mending the damage that was done by the The Joint and still seeing specialists to get to the bottom of my issues exaggerated by The Joint's terrible care. BUT with Dr. Jeff's personalized treatment plan, I am showing HUGE improvement in getting back to myself again. He has been with me the entire way - texting me to check up on me personally as well as his thoughtful staff being easily reachable. After years of living with a literal pain in my neck, I turned to Dr.Jeff after once again injuring myself to the point of serious pain. I was leery of chiropractic medicine, filing it under wacky practices in my mind. Dr. Jeff was calm and understanding. He worked out a plan to not just feel better that day but for the future as well. He explained why I would keep throwing out my neck and how we could work to repair past damage and prevent future damage with adjustments, core training and strength training. Heidi who handles the rehab is tremendous fun. She is upbeat and works hard to ensure that you will enjoy working through the pain. I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else. I have always been skeptical of Chiropractors, until visiting Raleigh Spine Clinic. Dr Jeff was great, made me feel at ease, and most importantly helped with the issues I had going on. He took the time to explain to me what was causing my pain, his plan of treatment and what to expect. The experience was great and I looked forward to each visit I had. I have been seeing Dr. Roistacher for over two years now (I have moderate scoliosis, diagnosed by another doctor). During that time I have been in two car accidents, and the team at Raleigh Spine Clinic has helped me recover from both. Over the maintenance time (after recovery from the accidents), they have worked out a regular treatment plan that keeps me pain-free. And my recovery time is much shorter from more strenuous activities that would leave me sore for days and keep me from running or biking. I can offer to help a friend move or work in my garden without worrying about my back hurting for a week. When I do over do it, the doctor adjusts my rehab and adjustment treatment to get me back to normal in no time. The office is clean and neat, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, both in the medicine they practice and in handling insurance companies, especially when it comes to auto accidents. Over the years, I have tweaked my lower back but never all that badly. If I took it easy, I would be back to normal in a few days. Unfortunately, I recently wrenched my back rather badly. I was in a lot of pain and was having trouble moving or functioning normally. I had never been to a chiropractor before but I needed some sort of intervention. Upon a friend's recommendation, I decided to visit Greater Raleigh Chiropractic and after some minor adjustments and treatment, I was infinitely more comfortable. Dr. Jeff explained to me what had happened, why, and what he was going to do to help. What he did made what would have undoubtedly been an awful few days of recovery quite tolerable. Don't be fooled by these reviews. All 5 star? Get real. Most of the reviews are by their own staff. They get you in the door and basically don't do anything BUT relieve your pain the first time, I know things need to be assessed, but not for 95% of what I'm paying for. This makes you come back for the second time where they lay out a cost structure/plan for years ahead of time for you, without even asking if you want one. This takes up half of the second session. When it's all said and done you waste two specialist co-pays for half of one session. They try to make you feel bad if you don't commit thousands of dollars to them on sight as they showcase their high priced cars in front of the building for you to walk past. It's a slap in the face, almost a "look how much money I'm making off of your pain". Take your business elsewhere. read more

There is another team member who has joined Greater Raleigh Chiro - Dina Jirjis- massage therapist extraordinaire! I am a Cross-Fit person and I injured my back/shoulder months ago. (not the fault of X-Fit - I got distracted lifting a weight and turned my head suddenly) Popped a rib head out of place and completely messed up my right shoulder region. I had been adjusted a few times and massaged by several therapists where I live now in SC. It was not until I came back to Greater Raleigh Chiro that FINALLY (after 7 months of discomfort and my pain never being gone for mre than a day or two at most) that I have been able now to heal properly. Dr. Jeff adjusted me and then Dina - who has been the only LMT to be able to get to the root of my shoulder muscular problem, released all of the tension and toxins that had built up after being out of alignment for so long. I learned that when something is "out" for a while, that putting it back in is a necessary step but not the only step. Without follow up care, the muscles that were so mangled and tight pull that bone back out of place because that becomes the new "normal" for the muscle. Dina's ability to pinpoint the problem and technique to work on those muscles has been the reason I am back up and running at full strength and without any pain! If you have ever had chronic pain, you find yourself resigned to "that is just the way it is going to be now, I guess." TOTALLY NOT THE CASE! I owe Greater Raleigh Chiro/Wellness literally my life - They gave it back to me. Being pain free is the best thing in the world. Being off medications that do nothing but briefly mask pain is wonderful. You have nothing if you do not have your health - and I am forever grateful, thankful and wish I lived closer! read more
