I ditched the rent-a-car and walked along the Ohio River through a park on the way to my gig. The park where they hold the WC Handy Blues festival - hope to get back there for that one day! Coy (the owner) was very accomodating. Breakfast was always very good, downstairs in the dining room. Quiet, spacious, with a full kitchenette. Wifi worked well. Price is competitive to mid-priced hotels, which you would have to drive 20-30 mins to Evansville for. Hope to go back with my wife sometime.

It's like being in a bad 80s movie in a motel on one of the worst hangout areas around. Police are generally there more than the occupants. On a brighter note if you need something there is a smoke shop next door and a gas station that serves really good food and a whole bunch of things next door on the other side you have Subway restaurant and you have real king farm supply which has clothes and food and other household items and farm equipment across the street and it's in the delivery area for the pizza and doordash so if you need something you do have what you need around there's also a dollar store just down the street so you're not going to be too far away from anything even a liquor store cuz it's attached to the gas station and just in case the county jail is also only just a few blocks away so your resources for around you is really great it's just the environment and the social environments that are lodged there that are questionable as per my own personal likings! Also the office phone either doesn't ring or they have a ringer off so if you're needing to reach someone through the phone for the business in their room that's not going to happen.

The room is dark, with worn patchy carpet, the bath is in bad need of new caulking. The climate system is noisy but effective. WiFi and continental breakfast is included and the tv has HBO. There is a small but decent fitness center and the staff is friendly if not exactly polite. We used their dry cleaning service, but the bill was was for double the charges printed on the order, probably due to an outdated order form - still, they forced us to argue to correct the bill. Nearby food choices are limited to fast food chains and an underwhelming woodfired pizza restaurant.

Check in wasn't until 3 but they were nice enough to let us check in an hour early so we could get some rest. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were soft. The pool didn't officially open for 2 more weeks but was sparking clean and they let us use the pool early. The area seems to be very safe. The only negatives that experienced was the bathroom door wouldn't latch which for me wasn't a big deal because I was sharing the room with my wife but for business travelers sharing the room it could end up in an uncomfortable situation. All in all it was a great experience and I would recommend this inn to anyone and would stay here again!
