My recent stay at the TRU by Hilton Garland-Richardson exceeded my expectations in the most thoughtful way. The team left a selection of delicious snacks along with a very kind, personalized handwritten note in my room. In today's fast-paced world, this genuine touch of hospitality and the "power of the pen" truly stood out and made me feel genuinely valued and welcomed. The service was warm, the property was clean and comfortable, and the overall experience was memorable. It's clear the staff takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Highly recommended -- I'll definitely be returning on my next visit to the area. Thank you to the entire TRU Garland-Richardson team! Rod Gray Cypress, TX Lifetime Hilton Diamond Member

(we are in town for a wedding so we just went to our friends house to wait it out) we get into the room finally get comfortable to take a nap. here comes a random family that was assigned our same room banging on the door they're vacuuming the hall to make us wake up they're trying everything to get us up. we wake up in a panic and the man is standing outside with like 6 other people like we have room 312 flashes his keycard at us. my husband shows ours to him. im like clearly we got in here somehow. fucking idiots i hate this hotel. i was already so upset they couldn't let us check in even a little earlier but she's literally double booking our rooms. this place is a joke.

We only booked for one night and were eager to get things going. Although we were excited, the experience overall was not great. We had to wait 3 hours to check in (check in time is normally at 3PM). Those hours were spent sitting and waiting in the lobby with a bunch of conference people as the hotel was PACKED. We didn't really wish to venture out to the bar as the bar was also packed and very loud. They did check our bags while we waited so we didn't have to keep watch of them which was nice. Once we finally got our hotel room, it was nice at first glance, but there were a few little issues: the fridge/mini bar area is fully stacked and super overpriced (we moved everything to make room for our stuff but it didn't matter because the fridge didn't even work and had lettuce and mayonnaise on the shelf), the drawers for your clothes were sticky and had to be wiped down, they only gave us one roll of toilet paper, and one of the towels was still wet and a little dirty. After doing some cleaning, we found that the room was spacious with a decent view, comfortable, and the bathroom was very cute. We spent most of our time in the room itself but we did venture out and use the swimming pool and hot tub which were both amazing: they were heated, clean, and empty. Because our fridge wasn't working, we decided to get lots of ice for our drinks which turned out to be a bit of an annoyance as the ice machine closest to our room was broken and the next one was a few floors up. With a fully packed hotel and only one working elevator, getting ice took longer than it should have. We had a random request later in the evening (we asked for straws) and the front desk was accommodating and very fast with that request. The next day, when we checked out, we were allowed to extend our checkout time by an hour and also the valet parking (which is normally $55 and the only parking option for the hotel) was comped due to the late check in. Overall, the staff was nice and accommodating but the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. I personally won't be staying here again.

The check in process was super fast, the fastest and most efficient I've ever experienced. Check out process was super easy, just drop the keys off in a box and call it a day. The location is very convenient, right by 190 with many restaurants, a mall (one exit down), a walmart, a target, and 2 gas stations close by. The hotel lobby feels humid. Each area has its own "scent", the lobby, the elevator, the hallway, and the actual room. Definitely has an older scent to the whole place. The hotel is definitely on the slightly older side, so it was an overall average stay and we knew that. We didn't get a straight sleep any of the nights throughout the stay because of the fluctuating room temperature. We're both hot sleepers, so when the AC turns off it warms up pretty quickly. When the AC turns back on it gets pretty loud, the machine itself is loud and the bed is right next to the AC. We were woken up either from the temperature or the loud AC. Again, we did not have any high expectations. It would definitely made the stay a lot better if the temperature was more consistent. Bottom line: The hotel did its job.

Found this hotel using Hotwire by selecting the price and viewing the property name afterward. For just under $50/night, we secured a room here for a mid-week trip to Dallas. This place is somewhat hard to find if you don't know where it is: the sign is small, and it's nestled behind a few buildings. Just turn in when you see a Wendy's, and you can get there fairly easily. Your GPS might get a little confused though. The unremarkable exterior did not prepare us for what we found when we opened the doors here: double french doors open to a high-end-looking lobby, complete with library, several sitting areas, and a fireplace. Front desk is attentive and quick, friendly and courteous. We were immediately helped and on our way to our room within minutes. The room was clean and bigger than expected, with a full size refrigerator, two-burner stove complete with dishes, and a flat screen TV and super comfortable bed. We were nearly late to check out, we slept so well; which rarely happens for us in a hotel! The property itself is very well kept- there's an interior court yard with a gazebo and a pool. Wish we'd brought our swimming suits, because it would have been fun to relax there. Courtyard itself is full of green trees, grass, and flowers, and is well-maintained. Property also has a small fitness room, with towels provided, featuring a weight bench, treadmill, stepping machine, and a bike. As i said, we booked for about $50/night through Hotwire and were really impressed with the quality of this hotel and the customer service. Would go out of our way to stay here again in the future. Highly recommend, especially at that price.

Don't know how long they were in there. Some funky policies. You have to book on the Internet. Did not have Monday through Friday continental breakfast. Small, decent work out room. Outdoor pool that looked nice. Since this is extended stay they change sheets once a week. You can take your towels to the front desk for an exchange. For 64 bucks a night, it works. A bit outdated but it was clean and serviceable. I think this would be good if you had your extended family visiting and they needed a place to stay. We brought our own towels, what they had was ok, just a little thin. Free wi fi, althought you could get an enhanced package and it would have run faster. We would stay here again. It fit the bill for clean, quiet place.
