He is an amazing doctor, he listens to patients concerns vs just talks over, and he will do everything to find out the real cause of your symptoms. I first met him at west hills hospital when I was admitted. He has a very pleasant bed side manners. Doctors could not figure out what my pain was from, but he did not give up, he promised me when he met me first that he will figure this out and he did it and I was able to recover. Since then I will not change my doctor. I even have my son go with him. And my son loves him. I would refer my whole family to go with him but they don't live close by. If you ever get admitted to west hills hospital ask for him to be your general follow up daily doctor you will not regret it. The only thing I would suggest him is to change his staff. He needs to hire people like him who care for patients that come through those doors. read more

I have left several reviews on Dr. Shaarawy and his wonderful staff, especially Heidi. I have had a history of high blood pressure since I was 28 years old and I am now 76. Dr Shaarawy is the first doctor that has taken this condition seriously and helped me get it under control. He is currently helping me with my weight issues so I can become healthier. Dr Shaarawy listens to what you're saying and is so kind. I just can't say enough about this wonderful Dr and how thankful I am to have found him. Heidi at the desk is absolutely wonderful and so very sweet. His staff is wonderful and professional. I don't understand some of the negative reviews as it's not something that I've observed in the office. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE FRONT DESK. I give dr Shaaraway a 5***** but the office staff a 1*. Unfortunately the office staff stands between the dr. and the patient. Sometimes this is necessary and sometimes this can kill a practice. I don't know if Dr. Shaaraway knows but if he didn't have such a good bedside manner I wouldn't stay with the practice because I wouldn't be able to deal with the front desk. Trying to get an appointment WHEN IT'S IMPORTANT/EMERGENCY is what's really important in a practice. A check up is a check up is a check up. But when something is wrong you need to know you can at least get a call back from SOMEONE. I had to call 4 times just to get them to call me back--after they said they'd call me back. Called on a Monday and they said maybe they could get me in on a Thursday or Friday--they'd call me back. Never did. I called them back Tuesday , they said the dr. was not in on Wednesday maybe Thursday, they'd call me back. I explained I'd been to the emergency room and the emergency room dr. said "make an appointment with your regular dr.right away". Keep in mind this is all with a pretty snitty attitude, hers, not mine. I understand everyone who isn't feeling well thinks they're the only one in the world who needs to see the dr. Finally on Wednesday I call (because STILL no one has bothered to call me back) and say , please just have the dr call me or give me a reference to another physician. She finally calls and says Dr. Shaaraway will call me this afternoon. I really like the doctor but if you can't get to Dr.. Shaaraway and have to go through the hassle and nonsense of the people who answer the phone each time you call it just might not be worth it! read more

When my husband and I started seeing. Dr Sharaaway, everything was good the doctor was caring and attentive. Last week I called his office early in the morning to ask for a prescription for UTI. I was in excruciating pain. I was told she will talk to the doctor and get back to me. at 4:30 in the afternoon, after additional four calls to the clinic, the lady answering the phone told me that the doctor is very busy and she cannot interrupt him. it took me another two days of pain to be able too get an other doctor to prescribe an antibiotic. read more

Office staff flat out lied to me saying that when they called my insurance company to verify coverage they were told the system was down. This took place over a three day period. When I called my provider they told me they in fact talked the office and explained my policy and did verify my coverage. Instead of just telling me they didn't want to engage me as a patient or there staff is so incompetent in their communication skills, they gave me an appt pending approval and told me I would have to pay the 250.00 office visit fee. The Dr himself came highly recommended but if the staff is this lazy or factually incompetent, I will seek care elsewhere. In reading other reviews this seems to be an a ongoing problem. Seems that a cleansing of their office staff should be in order. read more

I have been a patient of the practice for years. And while I love Dr S....this review is all about the quality of the folks who work IN the office. I have blood work completed every single week. What I very much appreciate is that this group of women never fails to follow up with me EVERY SINGLE WEEK (the day after my blood work) to provide my results (so I can adjust my medication accordingly). I've been going to Dr. Shaaraway for a few years now. I've always liked a doctor who takes the time to actually listen ask questions and really cares and Dr. Shaaraway is just that. My heart had been jumping around for years but when I went to Dr. SHaaraway he took it seriously and had me into a cardiologist the same day I emphasized that something might be wrong. I had been undiagnosed/misdiagnosed since 1989 with AFib. I see Dr. Sharaaway for the regular things that come up. His office staff has always been caring and professional and when something has been serious they have called me back and tried to fit me in that very day. Dr. Shaaraway although he's an allopathic doctor he takes a wholistic approach by taking the time to really care, talk with you and get to know know. My husband and I met Dr. Sharaaway a few years ago in the ER. He is one of the admitting doctors at West Hills Hospital. He is kind and very knowledgeable. We recently decided to make him my husband's primary., and leave a doctor we have had for over 20 years. The minute we walked in to his office we felt like long lost friends. He was so concerned about my husband that he called my husband's cardiologist and made sure that he would see him also that day. Dr Sharaaway wanted to see my husband also the next day.. The doctor is actually very nice, and knowledgeable. There is one person on his staff named Rebeca that has ALWAYS been a problem for me. Getting her to call in a prescription or a refill is impossible. It requires NUMEROUS calls to get her to do her job. Can't say enough great things about Dr. Shaarawy, my dad's condition had been mismanaged for 11 years by his primary doctor, hematologist, GI, and then Dr. Shaarawy was assigned as my dad's attending physician for a hospitalization in June 2020 during COVID which is terrible as my dad suffered a stroke and can't exactly speak for himself anymore and COVID restriction of visitors. What could have been a terrible experience was actually an Amazing experience, he communicates with you/family as you should be able to expect for your doctor, very competent, friendly, and willing to help, my dad loves him! Since then I switched my dad to his care as his primary doctor and my dad has made so much progress medically. I would recommend Dr. Shaarawy to anyone looking for a doctor who will manage their care and be proactive with their health. This is how doctors should be. I feel like I hit the jackpot with Dr Sharaaway. He instantly makes me feel happy and at ease when I'm in his office or on a telecall with him during covid. He really makes it a point to remember things about his patients and makes them feel welcomed. Anytime I need to see him, he just makes me feel so much more relaxed about the issue and comes up with a plan and follow up. Took my best friend in for an appointment, watched in horror as the young girl working in the back office drew her blood without washing her hands or donning gloves!!! What the?!? How absolutely disgusting. I work for a major hospital as a nurse, this is absolutely 100% a heath code violation. So please, if you come here know your rights as a patient. The Doctor is amazing but dealing with his office staff is another story. We have had nothing but problems since we joined several months ago. From rudeness to lack of response and being told different things by different people. One person confirms receipt of my email, another claims to never have received the same e-mail. A 30 day prescription was only written for 10 day supply, ruining my vacation. The office blamed the pharmacy who proved that the prescription was in fact written that way. Now, the office is having "issues" with Healthnet and will tell you that they won't see you so "go to urgent care if you have to be seen". Several office staff members told me the issue was with Regal's system. Regal confronted them and they back tracked and said the issue is with HealthNet and promised to call me for an appointment. After one week, I received no call. My prescription needed a refill and after one week and two attempts by the pharmacy, no response. I have no choice but to waste my time and start all over with another doctor. read more

This office has been the worse experience I have had and I am 46 years old. Met with dr initially. He was great. After that the three women in the office treated me with zero respect! I was having a back issue. Did everything they said to do. I asked can I speak with thr dr. They told me NO the dr doesn't not call patients. He's too busy and has a life I was told. I had serious tests done and still can't get a call on results. They mimicked me, talked horrible about me and NEVER Gave me any answers. I said please just tell the dr to call me when he has a free moment. I'm worried. Almost three weeks later. No calls. I was told they don't want me there anymore!
