Money minded and super greedy - terrible office staff who just keep running you in circles and don't bother to ask the doctors questions they should NOT be answering themselves. This office protocol forces people to be seen without complaints and for simple refills just to get their copay. They nickel and dime everything - refusing to order labs before appointments then forcing you to schedule a phone appt with the NP and pay the copay to discuss the lab results after. No consideration for the patient at all. The staff takes forever to return calls and get you answers but they don't even discuss with provider! Call centers should not be making medical decisions. and if a patient insists, then maybe, just maybe, run it by the doctor! They insisted that the office protocols were just "there" and the doctor had nothing to do with it which is crazy since the doctors own the practice. Do not recommend this office or this doctor. You don't even see the doctor, just get scheduled with her NPs who don't even do a physical exam properly. They refer out for everything and don't even manage simple conditions like anemia. Not sure where they got their medical training from, seems like they just want to see simple patients and make money, the slightly complicated ones they send to specialists even when not needed. If you just want to see someone once a year and can interpret labs yourself, then this is the bare minimum you'll get here. read more

An absolute nightmare of an office... I should have known better when I was taken into the exam room when there was absolutely nothing on the counter, no alcohol container, no containers of any kind!!! This office refers patients to everything... totally unable to even take a blood sample! A member of Thrive - Thrive should be ashamed of itself or maybe they are obviously a totally crappy health organization! I am astounded by the 5 star reviews (did they buy them?) for this office and this doctor... one visit was more then enough!!! Since switching insurances, I was looking for a new primary care provider with whom to establish a relationship and hopefully have them as my go-to for the years to come. I ultimately chose Shiva because I saw so many wonderful reviews. I went in for the first time a couple of weeks ago, requesting a general check-up/physical. I mentioned that I was about 2 months post partum. At no point did she ask me about how the birth was (other than if it was vaginal), or how motherhood was going, how my mental health was, forget a congratulations, nothing. She went over some generic questions, put in an order for labs, and that was that. If you want a provider to just do the basics and call it a day, sure, she got the job done. But if you want to feel like someone is in healthcare because they care about people and are invested in getting to know you and do a whole person approach to care, i unfortunately can't say that I had that experience with her. After my doctor of many years had to shut down his private practice during the Covid pandemic, I've been bouncing around from one doctor to another trying to find a good fit. I've finally found it with Dr. Beroukhim and Thrive, who are always able to get me an appointment with a nurse practitioner right away when I need to see someone on short notice. I am very happy with my experience so far at thrive. My Dr. Beroukhim takes her time talking with me. I never feel rushed which is something I often felt at Kaiser. She is thorough, and has helped me find the right meds for my migraines. When I call the office I get a person usually within 5 minutes of waiting and get the info that I need. They also do phone appointments when needed. Obviously no Doctors office is perfect but I'm happy with the care here. read more

I visited Dr. Shiva in December 2022 for a preliminary visit in my search for a PCP. Our appointment lasted about 30 minutes, but during the entire visit, she was attentive, engaged, and truly interested in my medical history and taking a detailed intake. After discussing my high cholesterol and previously borderline prediabetic status, she was willing to prescribe a CGM for me to help with lifestyle changes that I'm trying to make to improve my metabolic health. When I described a recent incident involving bi-lateral numbness in my arms I'd had that landed me in the ER, she asked good questions and hypothesized that it might be related to a neck injury from a few years back; she immediately prescribed physical therapy. (My previous PCP had condescendingly said I must have had acid reflux, which is why I am no longer a patient at their practice) Overall, I'm happy to have a new clinician who is thoughtful and interested in partnering with her patient for good outcomes. This office is always a mess. They always mess up appointments, referrals, waiting time in the office is unacceptable. I took half day off to see the doctor after covid and they called two hours before appointment that the doctor cant make it. I lost half day pay, my time but of course they dont care. Once i had to call thee weeks to figure out what happened with my referral, nobody is responsible for anything there. I have to understand that Shiva wants to stay home today and do phone calls instead coming to the office but i have to pay for it. This office has to start to respect patients. read more

After doing much research I scheduled an appointment and a day before my appointment I get a phone call from the front desk leaving me a voicemail saying that they Are out of supplies and I have to reschedule I've never been told that before I tried calling back but Somehow my call kept getting forward later I received a text message stating that they were out of supplies And had to reschedule that seem kind of unusual to me makes me think twice before visiting this office I guess after Covid makes you realize a lot of things made me feel Uncomfortable about rescheduling I want to make sure they are using new supplies after being told that They have run out of suppliesTo perform the exam and they won't be receiving them till next week yes I don't think so read more

i was not a fan of this doctor or this clinic. She was somewhat condescending, spent very little time with me and was unable to correctly diagnose my condition. Also I waited in an insanely hot waiting room with no AC for more than an hour before waiting again in the room for 30 minutes-this clinic needs AC! All that to just have to go to my regular doctor the next day who diagnosed me within 5 minutes of seeing me. Sometimes its worth it to just wait. read more

I have been looking for a new primary care physician since my former doctor left her practice early last year. I went into to Thrive for a new patient visit that wrapped up so quickly it made my head spin. Dr. Shiva Beroukhim spent all of 10 minutes with me, which in my opinion isn't long enough to get to know a new patient. She spent more time on the tail end asking me to do a yelp review and sensing my demeanor asked if I was an elite yelper. When I asked why, she said that the elite yelpers are known to give mostly bad reviews. Aye! I wish her well, but that was my first and last visit. I would not recommend her. read more
