I was in a bind. I was with my girlfriend and we were deep in the 3rd district and needed to get some food before going our separate ways for the night. I was being pretty indecisive about what to eat when the tram we were riding stopped out front of the shining new Wien Mitte Mall. We jumped off and instead of wandering into the standard yet satisfying Vapiano, we ventured upstairs to try out the latest outpost of Ra'mien. The food there was excellent: I had the La Mien with coconut curry and duck and my girlfriend had a large bowl of their wanton soup. Both dishes were huge, filling, and super tasty! The price was right at under €10 for each of us, perfectly reasonable for the quality and quantity. The food came out pretty quickly but was clearly made to order. They make their own noodles on site (or at one of their other local restaurants) and both the chewy wide noodles of my La Mien and the thin shrimp noodles of the wanton soup were delicious. The perfect lunch or dinner stop if you're nearby or as a fuel break during a big day of shopping along Landstrasse. read more

This was my first time at ra'mien! I know there are a few around Vienna but I have never got round to visiting. And now I must make up for lost time. It is yummy!!! Their big bowls of noodle soups are super tasty (I had the Wantansuppe with shrimp noodles and my boyfriend had La Mien which had really thick noodles). Both were really good dishes and really filling. We really enjoyed the food - it is perfect to warm you up on a cold evening! My husband and I couldn't believe how delicious the food was. We'd just gotten to our Airbnb, deciding to take a stroll as soon as we were settled. We soon came upon a shopping center "Wien Mitte The Mall", and headed in looking for food. We figured a mall would definitely have food and be a good place to check a few paces out and get a feel for our area. Taking directions from the malls' map, we ascended one of the stairs leading to the first floor. That's when we saw "Ramien Go". My husband was hesitant first, but I convinced him to try it. We waited for a waitress to seat us and decided to order the "spicy wanton" as a starter. Picture fresh pork and shrimp wrapped in thin dough, steamed then covered in delicious spicy peanut sauce that been lovingly enhanced with dark red pepper flakes! I wish there'd been more than just four wantons. When our entrees arrived, I knew it was going to be delicious. I could tell from the appetizer that we had made the proper decision. My husband had the "La mien with beef" and I had the chicken pad Thai. I don't know if it was starvation mode, but boy was it delicious. A great amount and beautifully seasoned. Pretty decent, cheap and fast Asian style food. Of course they have noodles, even "flying noodles" which are home-made. You can see them cutting the noodles, while preparing the dish. The things I've tried so far are all pretty good and the most amazing thing is that your order arrives within 10 minutes. We ordered the beef noodle soup once and it arrived after 2 mins!! Definitely can recommend this place if you are hungry, have no time to wait and want some decent noodle soup or just a nice bowl of rice with meat and veggies. Edit: Today's beef noodle soup was too salty. I'm sorry Ra'mien, but this has to be said. Hopefully you can add less salt next time. So one star less for you... read more

The new branch of ra'mien is in the shopping mall of Wien Mitte. I always liked the original one so I went there for a quick dinner. I shouldn't have... It is more of a fast food restaurant so I didn't expect high quality food, but what I got was really under my expectations. I had some wontons which were ok, but nothing more and a Pho. The Pho doesn't even deserve the name. It was more of an Austrian beef soup with rice noodles. The soja sprouts have been marinated and there was not even a hint of basil or mint. But I got some carrots in it... To make things worse it is expensive. I paid 18 Eur for the small Wontons, a Pho and an apple juice. Really? I also wasn't even really full. I had to grab a small sandwich from Ströck downstairs... Not sure who can give more than 2 stars but I surely won't be back. read more

When I go to the Wien Mitte, I usually just eat at the Sternzeichen in the food court, but this particular day, I wanted to try something different. So, out of curiosity, I went to this place to try their dishes. It's an Asian fusion restaurant, so it's a little bit different than the Sternzeichen. The ra'mien go serves Italian pasta noodles mixed in with Asian stir-fry or Thai-inspired dishes. But they also have regular rice bowls as well as Vietnamese noodle soups. I myself had the gyoza dumplings as an appetizer and a chili duck rice bowl for dinner. The food was well-prepared, and I was satisfied with the service and the quality. The next time I go here, I want to try their Thai beef salad, which is spicy, healthy, and delicious. read more

Ramien Go in Landstrasse just opened in November 2012. Despite the name, it offers a quite big seating area but also offers take away. The menu is focused on Ramen (soup with noodles) but you can also get dumplings, spring rolls, Thai dishes, etc. Quality is quite high, prices are reasonable. Fast food without the bellyache! Every mall has got to have a food court, I know, but I am tired of seeing so many of the standard fast food chains in Vienna. Plus, I cannot eat comfortably in most of them. I have a gluten sensitivity. I was pleasantly surprised while out shopping to find ra'mien go at the Wien Mitte mall. Amongst their many rice dish options, I found a gluten free rice noodle soup, Pho, to which I added chicken and coconut curry. It was delicious! Accompanied by a soybean sprout salad, coriander and lime to add to your liking on your own, and a hollersaft sprizter, I was completely full. What a portion for lunch at a great price, and fast! The waitress was patient with my food allergy questions and the menu is very thorough and well marked, in German and English. If you are vegan or vegetarian, they also make many substitutes for you. All soups are made from chicken broth, but can be made vegan. At Wien Mitte they have plenty of room for sit down eating until 11 pm with a day and night menu and take-away until 5pm. It was about time I checked this place out! Similarly to the original Ra'mien on Gumperdorferstrasse, the decor is modern and has nothing to do with a traditional Asian ambiance. But once you forget you are actually eating at a mall, you'll appreciate the effectiveness of the waiters...and your food, for the Asian flavors are definitely there! and the portions are very generous. If you're wanting a last, quick meal before getting on the CAT to head to the airport, look no further than the food court upstairs. After days of heavy Austrian food I was only too glad to have a quick bite of my native food, as interpreted by efficient Austrians. I wasn't disappointed and ate pretty much everything. First there was just one (!) litte piece of meat (duck) in the whole (!) soup and too much cheap noodles and just 3 small Wan Tans.
