Juan showed up for his scheduled estimate on time and gave me a price that beat out all other 5 companies I called. Installed my new sod in 1 days time, gave me tips on watering and also letting the city know that I'd be using more water. On day of install showed up on time as well, i don't know why so many people say he doesn't show, for me very punctual. I also had 6 or 7 big piles of dirt and concrete that i wanted hauled away and he grabbed those as well. Very honest up front guy, trustworthy and definitely knows his job. Juan will say everything that's sounds great to start off. Then makes you feel like you have to hurry and pay a deposit just so he can "get" you in to start your landscaping in a few days. Once you pay him the chase is on. I contacted him April 2nd and it's now May 11th and my yard still isn't completed as promised. In One month he showed up 3 times. I have a load of text messages chasing him & he has now stopped responding all together. He has so many excuses to not come from health to dental issues. He even told me he was sick one day and then the next day he told me he was working at another job. He forgot his own lie! I'm out $1,100 on this guy. Found Juan through Yelp to find a landscaper to finish a job another landscaper didn't finish. Contacted him on a Saturday night through Yelp and he came the next day Sunday. He gave us our total estimate and we did give a small down payment to bring in rock for an area of our backyard, clean up what the other landscaper left and put in artificial grass for a 900 sq ft area. He also included a drip system to our planters and trees. He had me order and buy my stuff directly and worked for me and he deducted it from his total. We communicated by text. He'd let me know when he was coming for I had to put my dogs in the house when he worked in the backyard. We met him on May 31 and he and his family worked on our backyard a few hours on some weeknights in June and would put in a little more time on the weekends and he finished all he said he would today. He's a busy, hard working guy and his family sometimes works with him. We have some more work for him so he'll be staying on for a few more projects. He also said he was having issues with tools and would come later. He didn't come later and when I called again he slipped up and said he's coming back from another job. Regardless, he said sorry and he'll message in an hour to send me his schedule and will do the job. Didn't message me. When I contacted him again the next day, still no response. This company was recommended to me by one of my co workers. I gave them a call on a Friday and they were able to come and give me an estimate that same day and promptly started work the next Monday. We got a lot of concrete done at a very reasonable price as well as new sprinklers and grass in our backyard. Everything looks great! Extremely unreliable services. Juan came out the same day I inquired about getting a quote. He seemed like a genuine guy and like he knew what he was talking about. He gave a reasonable price and asked for a $500 deposit to start that same weekend. That weekend came and went and Juan never started the job. He made up dozens of excuses from medical issues, family issues, supply shortages, etc. Even said he had a scheduled surgery, but then came later that day and told us he had been at another job. He can't seem to keep his lies straight. DO NOT trust this company with your money or your time. They wasted 2 weeks of our time and we lost $200 of our deposit due to him installing 2 fence posts. He showed up 2 times to do work and only worked for 30 minutes each time. After the fact, we got a quotes from a few licensed fencing companies who all told us he had installed the wrong posts and they would have to rip them out and replace them. Ramirez landscaping does not know what they are doing, will steal your money, and are liars and unreliable. Beware, look elsewhere! read more
