I had actually stopped to eat at the restaurant next door, and realized I'm due for some good sleep before traveling all day the next day. So I went online and checked my favorite app to see if they were available and they were. Check in was super easy. The lady at the front desk was awesome, I got in in moments, unloaded my car and then settled in for the night. The bed was super comfortable, the bathrooms were neat, and the room was nice and cool, just how I like it. The next morning I was surprised to see a full breakfast spread including eggs, sausage, four different juices, breads, waffles, yogurt, and cereal. Definitely a nice way to wake up. Oh, and let's not forget the coffee! The bottom line? If I'm ever passing through this part of El Paso again, I will make it a point to stay here. It was neat, clean, friendly and welcoming. Just like a decent midsized hotel should be.

Affordable and pet-friendly - This Best Western is located in Clint, TX which is on the outskirts…read moreof East El Paso, TX. It is conveniently on the south side of I-10 for travelers moving across the country, but not directly on the highway so that you don't hear the road noise all night. I was on the third floor. There is an elevator inside the building. I booked a King-sized bed. The room had a long hallway inside of the room, which I found unusual, but it did provide an additional buffer from noise in the hallway, especially since my room was right next to the elevator. The bathroom seemed smaller than normal, but it had all of the necessary items - soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, makeup remover, hairdryer, and an allotment of various towel sizes. My new favorite thing was the blackout curtain installed in the bedroom. It is actually a shade that is rolled up and down with the use of a chain. The shade is in a frame track so there is no light able to peak through sides or corners. It is not pretty, but it does completely block out the light, so I appreciated it. Things I didn't like included the location of the closet in the farthest corner of the room away from the door. I personally prefer to have the closet by the door where I can kick off or put on shoes as I enter/exit the room so that I am not dragging in dirt to the room. A closet by the door and near the bathroom is also helpful for dressing or hanging coats, putting away luggage, etc. Unfortunately, the closet was hard to get to. You have to cruise across the entire room, squeeze between the lounge chair and the bed, and gingerly open the closet door to avoid bumping yourself as you do so. It is so inconveniently located, that I didn't even use it. It was pointless to have it. It had an iron and ironing board inside, but it would have been difficult to het either of these items out of the closet because how the furniture was wedged around the door. There were four pillows on the bed, but they were not king sized. They weren't even queen sized. BW has started using mini pillows. These were also very flat. I was highly disappointed with these. I love having lots of big pillows to wrap around both sides of me and under my head, but this wasn't really possible with these deflated minis. The yellow lounge chair had stains. It looked old and haggard. Since it was a cloth, I'm guessing it is isn't something that is easy to clean. The orange pleather ottoman was mismatched with it. These items were probably salvaged from other sets and thrown together for a second life in this room. Cleanliness is important. When stained furniture shows up, it leaves a bad impression. Furthermore, I refuse to use, so BW might as well not have the furniture in the room at all. Either clean or reupholster it so that the stains don't show. The room had a fridge and microwave. The TV had a Google package. The fridge was slightly noisy during the night, but I'm guessing it comes in handy, especially during the hit summer months, which is most of the year. I was able to use my points to get the hotel room for free for the night. Because I am a member of the rewards program, I was also offered a bottle of water at checkin. The breakfast room is small, but it offered the standard combo of hot and cold food including biscuits and gravy, egg, sausage patties, uncut fruit, yogurt, cereal and milk, bread, bagels, and a waffle machine. I loved that there was NO TV in the breakfast room. It was quiet and relaxing. The hours during the week are 6am to 9am. I would have preferred later hours, but since checkout is 11am, I can see why they cut people off so early. Not my favorite BW, but it was decent for a good night's stay while traveling across the country.

They did what they said they were gonna do and made us feel so comfortable! We had so much fun on our wedding day. I really thought me and my husband "took in the moment" during our wedding day but looking at the video these guys provided, there was so much more that we didn't see and it brings me to happy and loving tears watching this video and seeing all the moments we didn't know we missed. I am so grateful that we came across this group. Videography would not have been an option without their affordability but their quality is better than even the most expensive company. I will never stop raving about these guys!

This charming farm is nestled past the freeway, amidst the sprawling housing developments. It's truly heartwarming to witness this little farm standing tall in the face of rapid development. Patricia and her husband have been nurturing this farm for over 7 years. Her husband hails from Sinaloa and boasts impressive agricultural knowledge. A few years ago, Patricia transitioned to cultivating pomegranates due to their resilience to drought. Did you know that pomegranate trees are self-pollinating? That means you don't need separate male and female trees. Wonderfruit boasts around 700 pomegranate trees and even has a fantastic horse riding school. By the way, their riding school is a national championship school, especially for levels two and three. Besides pomegranates, they also have quarter horses and other magnificent steeds, as they operate as a breeding farm too. Being on the farm takes you on a journey of appreciation for the countryside. The tranquil and pristine surroundings transport you, despite the ongoing development in the area. Small farms like Wonderfruit deserve our unwavering support. To share the wonder of their exceptional fruit, they organize fabulous festivals. I first heard about their festival when I arrived in El Paso, but alas, it was canceled due to COVID. But guess what? The festival is making a grand comeback this year, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever! Imagine tons of free activities for the kids, delightful food trucks, a farm-to-table event, arts and crafts, games, thrilling horse rides, and more. Since it's a small farm, they'll be hosting the festival right at their house. Their aim is to unite the community and showcase their fruit, which has been carefully chosen and certified by the USDA for optimal ripeness. Patricia shared her fascinating knowledge about picking pomegranates. To determine if a pomegranate is ripe, look at the shape on the bottom. Circular means it's not quite ready, but if it's a hexagon or square shape, the juicy arils (seed sacs) are ripe and ready to be savored. Picking pomegranates is a delightful experience, and Patricia also demonstrated how to extract the fruit. Of course, my favorite part was indulging in the delicious pomegranate seeds. They also press the pomegranates to create fresh juice, which is simply fantastic. Pro tip: use scissors/shears to cut the stem, leaving a little attached to the fruit, and your pomegranates can last up to 3 months in the fridge. And here's a fun fact: you can use every part of the pomegranate, including the peel, which they dehydrate to make a tasty tea. Did you know that pomegranates are considered superfruits? They're bursting with antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C. Throughout history, pomegranates have been cherished for their medicinal properties, and now they're gaining recognition as a superfood in North America. The powerful antioxidants in pomegranate seeds, called polyphenols, are believed to promote heart health and offer anti-cancer benefits. I've had the pleasure of savoring countless pomegranates since one of my exes is Persian, and they incorporate the fruit in so many creative ways, including stews. Right here in El Paso, I was fortunate enough to try Chiles en Nogada, a delightful dish featuring pomegranates. We picked up a bunch of pomegranates from Wonderfruit, and I can't wait to share them with friends and family.
