I was quite surprised that a $2 valve stem would cost me $45.00! Especially since I helped in the shop because the owner and one employee showed up late for work. Had I been told there was a minimum shop charge, I would not have agreed to the service. This was a sneaky, unprofessional thing to do. I doubt I will return to this shop. I strongly suggest you ask for a quote for any work needed before the work is done. Oh and by the way, this is one of those companies that charge you a surcharge for using a credit card. If you do good work and charge a fair price, you don't have to charge your customers to take their money!

For that high of minimum charge, they should advise the customer up front.. It's not reasonable to take a hand held machine there when their charges are more than buying a new one. They are very good with excuses for slow service--sickness, vacations, backed up on repairs, etc. I'll find another repair service next time.
