Nadine guided us through an unusual purchase (though she would say that every real estate transaction is unusual...) and never lost patience. You'd expect a real estate professional to be knowledgeable about Boston's neighborhoods, and Nadine truly is. Beyond that, a few things really set her apart from the rest: 1. She has an intimate knowledge of buildings old and new-- she sees beyond cosmetics, she will inform you about hidden costs, and she's able to give sound, practical advice about what a property needs, what could be done with it, and what the work is likely to cost. 2. Her experience providing broker price opinions for banks gives her more insight about the market than other agents. 3. She listens. Anyone who has worked with an agent who doesn't listen (and there are a lot of them) will know how valuable this is.

    Please beware of this shady management company and their unethical practices. They will make up…read morelies if it means covering their behinds. I was a really good tenant and never caused any problems. So I am very disappointed in the way that they have treated me...Before vacating my apt I called the office to see if it would be okay to leave my refrigerator (they do not provide you with one) behind for the next tenant. I was told that as long as the refrigerator worked, it was fine; if the refrigerator didn't work then they would charge me a fee. I was elated to know that I could leave my perfectly working refrigerator and would not have to move it, but was ok if I needed to. Fast forward to two weeks after I moved out of the apt. I received my statement and a check for my security deposit which was $425 less than it should have been. I noticed they charged me $425 to remove the same refrigerator they told me I could leave behind! I contacted their office immediately to figure out if there was a mistake. They gave me the run around a few times each time telling me I needed to call back later, hanging up on me, and telling me the person I needed to speak to was on vacation. I finally got a hold of the leasing agent who told me the refrigerator wasn't in "good working condition" which is why they have to remove it. I do not understand how a refrigerator that worked perfectly fine is not in "good working condition." I was told they didn't want to be responsible for it if it broke down a few years later. Now they are telling me the shelves were all broken. 3 totally different reasons that are all BS! Can't believe they would lie about such a thing. I am very disappointed but I will not let them get a way with this.

As someone who used to manage my property (from long distance), I knew the pain and efforts involved in dealing with tenants...and honestly..after a few years, I wanted nothing to do with managing a rental from far, far away. I remembered calling and leaving a voicemail message with Southpaw about my desire to find a property management company to help me rent out and manage my unit...and..to my surprise, I got a call the same day back..and all within several hours when I totally wasn't expecting it! Within a few days...I worked with Kyle to sign my rental agreement, provide him information and access to my rental unit...and the unit was already rented out...all within 24 hours of signing my agreement to have Kyle manage my property! Wow..I was impressed! What impressed me more was Kyle's ability to manage rental properties. He took great care of tenants and property owners alike. He's fair..and not just siding with either side. He is not hesitant to tell me as an owner what I needed to do to make sure my tenants are happy (and he's happy to do the same to keep me happy dealing withe thing from repair to HOA as well). I am also very happy to see that...with Southpaw...the need to manage my rental property or handhold anything..is pretty much nil! Kyle took care of everything! And..I just saw..that I recently gave a consent to continue renting out my unit/extend rental offers to my current tenants..and he already had them signed extending for another year of rental at my unit ahead of expiration of an existing lease! That's a testament to Kyle and Southpaw's competencies and proactive approach to management! I love it that..for once..I can really sit back and trust that Southpaw can handle my rental on my behalf! For a long while, I worry about having to sell my unit if the property couldn't be rented out..but with Southpaw...I didn't have to worry about sale of my property anymore..because true passive rental income from this property is now a reality for me!

    It took them 70+ days to return my deposit after I moved out. I had to call and email them…read morerepeatedly to get them to process it. The two stars is because they overnighted it once they finally cut the check. But once I received the check I discovered the check was hastily printed and I could not cash it. So they literally sent me a check I could not cash. Very frustrating and inconvenient experience.

    TERRIBLE/SHADY MANAGEMENT. DO NOT RESIDE! I had multiple issues with my apartment that took months…read moreto years to be fixed or replaced. On top of that I had an issues with a neighbor who was related to the public safety officer. This man was never disciplined by Oak Hill management or Corporate management. Both were aware of the problem. I was threatened on multiple occasions and dealt with blasting music every single day from 9am-5pm. The threats were "we are gonna take care of that white bitch up there" and "I'm gonna break your back". During finals week the music continued. I then had to involve the Pittsburgh Police who actually handled the situation which now requires me to testify in court due to the threats. Before I called the police that day I called oak hill security 3 times and no one even answered the phone. Again both management teams were notified of this and the fact that the police were involved. Again nothing happened on their end. I now moved out and they will not call me back in regards to my security deposit. After reviewing the policies, I have a list of violations made by Oak Hill and if need be I will contact a lawyer.
