This is an adorable small animal farm. Pure passions has Nigerian dwarf goats, geese, ducks,…read morealpacas, and a barn cat. We arrived with three children. There's plenty of parking for about 20 cars. There are two barns and clean restrooms. The price is reasonable at $10 per car load. The owners are very nice. They didn't just take our money and give us a map; they showed us around and then let us go off on our own. Feed is available in small buckets for $3. All the alpacas and the goats loved it. There is a small playground, basketballs and basketball hoops, and a fairy garden too. We stayed a little over an hour but would have stayed longer if it hadn't started raining. We'll be going back to visit Santa Claus next month and in the spring for goat yoga!

While your down there your using a provided map to guide yourself around and match the corresponding areas ( Ex; A to A or 1-1 ) We went after it had just rained the night before, so everything was VERY wet. Wear waterproof/walking shoes if you plan on exploring. Be prepared to get dripped on by very cold water coming off nearby rocks, and the "ceiling". Coming down the initial very steep stairs is a beautiful view of different levels of rocks decending into a tunnel/cave where the rest of the cavers are. Tons of puddles all over the ground from collected rain water and the "droplets". Most the areas are about big enough for one person to walk through the tunnel areas at one time, and if your a larger person i DO NOT recommend going down there. Some areas are extremely tight and really only accessible to someone under 4'5 and around 100 pounds or less. (Im 5'4, 140 and some areas i almost got stuck cause it was too tight going through the rocks. It is neat to see though, i dont think id want to do it again as it is just wet rocks and the furthest tunnel was closed from the previous year that occurred from some heavy rain water. (The water collected, over time causing a collapse). So that was kind of a bummer but i get it for safety reasons. The gem mining was fun, definitely loaded with a lot of "gravel" type rocks so that was new for me, Ive only ever had ones with dirt/sand that yield rocks/gems/shark teeth. We found some really interesting gemstones in each tray. The petting zoo was great. I thought it wad Going to be boring and smelly, and i was happily wrong. The goats were adorable, when we came in a baby jumped through the fence and was following our group. And when we came inside the "pen" to pet them he ran back in it was very cute! The deer were a little skittish but very sweet and gentle. The treasure hunt/maze was VERY fun we enjoyed getting different prizes snd trading them within the group.

He and I essentially got the farm to ourselves-- we each got to walk an alpaca, hold and bottle-feed the babies, hang out with the larger group of alpacas (there are a 100 total here), talk to Julie more in depth (who is so sweet and knowledgeable), and visit the store. We came on a perfectly sunny and warm-ish day, which allowed for the alpacas to be super social. We spent 2 hours at the farm and came home with so many memories of our morning there, along with great photos!

On a lovely, temperate Saturday afternoon my girlfriend and I visited Road Runner Rascals alpaca…read morefarm, having made a reservation a couple of weeks earlier. The cost was $25 per person, and we figured that it would simply involve getting a few photo ops with alpacas, and perhaps getting up close and personal with a few to scratch their furry necks etc. Little did we know that the ranch runner, Julie Judge, was offering up a full experience! Road Runner Rascals has around 100 alpacas overall, and when we arrived we realized that it would truly just be the two of us interacting with the alpacas -- no other groups of people. Julie introduced us to the alpacas, then proceeded to halter a couple of them (named Savoy and Plum Crazy) for us to walk around the pasture. I didn't have "walking an alpaca" on my bingo card for life, and yet that's exactly what we did. The alpacas were very docile, and happily let themselves be led on a long walk through a sprawling, hilly pasture. They make the most adorable noises, and have definite personalities -- we could tell when they wanted to go certain places, and their curiosity was also very obvious. After walking them for at least half an hour, we brought them back to the stable...where Julie was warming up milk for us to bottle-feed a ten-day old alpaca! I don't know why, but the feeling of feeding warm milk out of a pop bottle to a baby alpaca is just something you have to experience for yourself. Afterwards, Julie opened up the back paddock and a veritable herd of alpacas came wandering out, surrounding my parked car, then walking up to us to be petted, some lying down, some rolling around in the grass, and generally just doing what alpacas do. Funnily enough, this wasn't our first alpaca experience, having visited another alpaca farm a few years ago, but what Julie offers at Road Runner Rascals is truly next level. It's also heartening to know that she has donated alpacas to a nearby autism center, and also has some connections with OSU and other local businesses. All told, my girlfriend and I have had a lot of great days this year, but this is easily one of the best. We made a point of buying a few things from the gift shop as well, but the real takeaway is the memorable experience itself, and it's one not to be missed by any animal lover in the region!

The…read morecorn maze is the biggest part, plus there are apple cannons, bouncy houses, a wagon ride (you get to pick one apple,) a climbing wall, etc. As their website says, don't follow your GPS to the market- this is 1/4 mile or so west of it (and west of Rt. 310) on Morse. Plenty of big signs. Snack area there, or go to the market after. The website says $12 for the maze and $3 for wagon rides, so I figured we'd go on the wagon and then be able to play at the bouncy house, etc. Nope- all the play areas are part of the maze ticket. And you pay even if you don't do the stuff, so we paid $36 for the maze, which we didn't go in, so that K could go in the bouncy houses and on the barrel train, plus $9 total for a wagon ride. Kids under 3 are free, I think. Anyway. We sucked it up and paid a lot so K could have fun. She did. The guy doing the barrel train seemed to have as much fun as the kids, and it was a long ride. The bouncy houses seemed popular. There's also a big inflated "trampoline," some basketball hoops, and other play stuff. Attendants at most of them, friendly and helpful. Sigh. We'll probably be back, maybe with just one parent to save some money.

Heard the hot dog truck ran out of hot dogs by 1:30p. Long lines at everything. We chose to not eat there. The artisans were good. They had about 30 or so. Some inside a barn and some outside. Some repeats with candle people being the most. The barn is nice looking. But with lots of people it was very hot on a day where it was 85 degrees. They should have some fans on the ceiling to just move some air. There is cement stairs and a railing to help people walk in to the barn. The event was focused around the flowering fields. It was $30 to pick some flowers and take them home. Here is the thing. I thought $30 was high. But plenty of people paid. You get a little vase 1 size and some scissors. Then off you go picking as many as you want that fit in to your vase. However, again by 1:30p it seemed like slim pickings literally. They are still taking money and it's a long line but most of the flowers seemed picked already. Our friends were out there and were struggling to fill the vase and get their moneys worth. Not a repeat for me. Love the idea. Just thought the execution was poor. Not the artisans fault so that is the score. I want to support local and small biz so I am being more generous than I would if it was just the farm and picking flowers.

Everyone was so nice & friendly. We met the man who makes the wine, he introduced himself to us and was so kind. The property was beautiful and set up so nice even though it had just poured rain two hours prior. The wine was delicious (and I don't even drink)! The ticket price was $35 for this event, but you get 12 samples of wine, a fun time in a huge corn maze, free cheese, chocolate & fruit, and the chance to make new friends. Overall, we had an amazing time! We even finished the night with a bonfire by the sunset & hot chocolate.
