We were seated immediately upon entry at a booth and then we immediately asked to move to a table due to comfort issues and we were obliged by one of the other servers. We sat down and began to peruse the extensive menu and admire the decor of the restaurant when our server Chris came over. He was extremely friendly and happy to have us visit. He took our drink order and entree order as we had found the combination plates on the menu. We love sampling a little bit of everything. I ordered Combination 30, the Taco, Enchilada and Tostada. Then we settled into our chips and salsa. The salsa was definitely homemade, nice big chunks, but lacking in heat. Before we knew it our piping hot plates were brought out with our delicious assortments. I decided to try each item with a different meat, so my taco was ground beef, the enchilada was chicken and the tostada was shredded beef. Out of all of them the tostada was my favorite and by the time we were finished we were quite satisfied. This was great meal with good service. Happy Dining! read more

A little underwhelming as Mexican restaurants go. Salsa was like a marinara sauce which wasn't unpleasant just different. Entrees (Chile Verde and Frajitas)were kind of bland. My wife used to live in Texas and I just like the spicy nature of good Mexican fare. This was a sad experience for people who like a spice in their Mexican food. The good news is is that there were several choices when it came to hot sauces stationed at the table. It's a nice looking place, the service was decent, music was easy on the ears, all they need now is Mexican food to serve. read more

The saying goes, if a Mexican restaurant's chips and salsa are good then the rest will follow ! This restaurant failed in that department! I ordered mild and hot salsa's but both were just an order of tomato sauce! It lacked spices and it wasn't salsa! I'm not sure how this can be screwed up but speaks for its authenticity! This is my go-to spot when I'm craving some Mexican food for lunch. The lunch special is well worth it because you get a lot of food for around $10 depending on what you order. I usually order the Arroz con Pollo, which comes with chicken, rice, mushrooms, green onions and tomatoes and it's my favorite! Their Carnitas are also really good if you are looking for some sauteed strips of chicken or beef with onions and bell peppers. The Lambrusco margarita is my go-to drink! You get a huge glass with the margarita mix and then an upside down small bottle of Lambrusco wine within it. I really recommend this if you are wanting to order a margarita, it is superb! I also love that you get unlimited chips and salsa because I come in to the restaurant starving and it makes me happy that I get to munch on chips while I wait for my food! They usually give you a mild salsa, but if you're looking for a spicier option, just ask and they will bring it for you. The staff is very friendly and it usually is very crowded for lunch, so make sure to get there early so that you can get a seat! The interior is very festive and colorful, plus they have plenty of booths and tables, as well as a bar. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back more often! read more

The fact that this place has 3 and a half stars blows my mind. Food was so good, that any time I fly down to Florida i will promise to visit this place again and again. It is an older building but still decent looking inside. The service was just a little slow but when you have a full house on a Wednesday? , well service might be a little slow, but we didn't mind. Where else can you get a huge Cadillac margarita for only 10 bucks. We had 4 of us and three Cadillac margarita and a extra tall beer and the bill was only 106.00. That's pretty impressive. I had the rancho asada burrito and it was super good. The streak tasted barbecued. The wife had the Cancun burrito filled with shrimp and all the fixings inside. Dad had the stuffed chiles and mom had the shredded beef I believe. And the salsa. Let's not forget the salsa. I was drinking it. Lol. Gonna try not to be much of a critic since I have first hand experience in service industry. Theres good days and bad days. Just wanna say guest service can make or break an experience. Food took took an hour to arrive and soup came out cold but if our waiter even cared to notify us or check in on us, it probably would've made lunch a little better. Manager didn't seem to care to take off the soup off the bill after discussing it, or the margarita (the blood orange wasn't all that good so replaced it with a michelada). He kept bouncing me to other servers to help out when he was the one who had access to take things off the bill. Must've been short staff for Labor Day or something but a company should always strive to be better than who they were yesterday. Maybe next time Rancho cinco. read more

The service was good, but the food was lacking. We ordered the table side guacamole which ended up being a super small amount for $11. The salsa was thick and tasteless- like tomato sauce out of a can. I had the chimichanga that had little seasoning and the cheese sauce I paid $1-2 extra for was barely drizzled on it. My daughter had the fajita bowl which was seasoned well, but had two tiny strips of chicken approximately 1 inch by 4 inches, and part of one of the strips was pure gristle. We ate here last year and the guacamole was a much larger portion and was delicious. The food was much better seasoned and we made a point to return while in the area this year. I really enjoy coming here they have good food and drinks. The staff is friendly. My favorite dish to get is the ceviche camarones (shrimp) it's the best here. I also like that they have fresh chicken tenders & grilled chicken on the kids meals. read more

4 stars for delicious Mexican takeout in St. Cloud! Being pregnant the past 9 months, and having a newborn now, takeout and delivery have been my go-tos lately. Rancho Chico is always in our regular lineup of takeout options! I'm obsessed with their tamales--they're seriously amazing, with the perfect ratio of masa to filling. I also love the red sauce they cover the tamales in--not overpowering, but super flavorful! Their rice and beans are top notch, and I have also enjoyed their chimichangas. I want to try more menu options but can't peel myself away from the tamales. They also deliver really yummy margaritas, notably their blackberry margarita which is super tasty! Food was great! Flavorful and authentic. The prices on the lunch menu were reasonable. $18 for two adults. The service was not good to say the least. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes if not longer for someone to take our order for food and beverages. During our meal we weren't visited again by the waitress to ensure everything was ok or to offer refills. We had to ask 4 different servers for our check as ours was nowhere to be found. That took another 20 minutes. Overall, the restaurant is good if you're not in a rush and are ok without the constant interruptions by a waiter/waitress. I want so badly to like this place because my husband and daughter have enjoyed their meals both times we have dined here. I had the fajita bowl the last time we dined here and it was okay. Not amazing, but alright. Today, I ordered the Tortilla Soup. The description matches the tortilla soup I have gotten at many restaurants over the years. Shredded chicken breast, diced tomato and onion, fried corn tortilla strips and shredded cheese. The soup arrived with a mountain of extra large, extra wide tortilla strips piled on top. They were at least an inch wide and a whole corn tortilla long. Impossible to eat with the soup, and when I questioned if they were corn tortilla strips I was told that all corn tortillas are made with wheat flour in them. We eat corn tortillas all the time that I purchase at the store that do not contain any wheat flour which makes me think they make their own tortillas there and add wheat to them. So I just pulled them off. The soup underneath did not, in any way, resemble the soup I ordered. It did, however, look exactly like the chicken soup directly under it on the menu that cost $2 less. It was an opaque liquid that had a little chicken along with red beans, corn, diced carrot, tomato, onion, and a huge amount of cilantro. When I asked our server, he insisted that I was confused and the tortilla soup was the one with the vegetables. The cilantro overpowered the soup, so I ate what chicken it contained and left the soup. Their cheese dip is decent, so I'm giving them three stars. That being said, I need to trust that the food I order is the food I will receive, so I will be hunting for another Mexican restaurant option moving forward. read more

Just moved to the area and visited Rancho Chico based on proximity. First impressions were sub par based on appearance of seating areas and very old carpet. Menu was varied but food was lacking seasoning and flavor. Your basic chips and salsa which can easily be addictive in other Mexican restaurants here... not so much. Very bland and salsa lacked flavor and kick. Overall a disappointing experience and would not go back. Also, my daughter had to use the restroom and mentioned it was horrible. Stalls were broken, very dirty and disgusting. I hope that is not a reflection of their general upkeep :-( read more

Best Mexican we've had in a while. Our waiter Gil was super attentive. Burrito was filled with perfectly seasoned chicken from end to end - not that just a little bit in the middle with unstuffed ends. My husbands carne assays also seasoned perfectly. Im giving this two stars instead of one because although my last experience was dreadful, I typically enjoy my meals here. I attempted to have lunch with my friend and my grandfather this week and perhaps there should have been just one server on, but unfortunately Micheal was terrible. Our table was not set for three guests, we had to ask for a third plate after sitting with chips and salsa for ten minutes. I am vegan and the lunch options do not accommodate my diet and Michael insisted over and over that they would not make any adjustments to the lunch menu and I would HAVE to order from the dinner menu. After not being willing to help me at all, I tell him I won't have any lunch... the rest of our lunch I sat and drank water in which he did not offer to refill although it was empty. He did ask my friend and refill her water. He essentially IGNORED me the rest of our lunch there and I had to stop him and ask him whether it would be ok for me to ask him for more water. I have been here for lunch before and I have had amazing servers that were willing to make accommodations for my diet. I have enjoyed wonderful vegetarian LUNCH fajitas in the past but I plan to never return for lack of customer service and hospitality from the employees. read more

This is a legitimate authentic Mexican restaurant. When you first walk in, you can't help but NOT notice the atmosphere. Both the booths and the chairs are hand carved and painted. The house margarita was fairly large for the price with the perfect mixture of mix and tequila. The chips were warm, fresh, and crunchy. The salsa was thick with lots of pieces of onion, tomato, pepper, and cilantro. The entrees were at the table within 10 minutes. The super burrito was just that. It's so big, that half is a full meal. The dose spinach enchiladas were huge in size and filled with lots of spinach and a green sauce. My favorite item on the menu was the fried ice cream. I love Rancho Chico. Everytime i'm in the area I manage to convince my cousin's family to go to eat here. it's been hit or miss with the wait staff. They have never messed up my order or anything like that, but just not very helpful or friendly. but when the waiters are good, they are very good. Really what keeps me coming back is the food. I have had different things off the menu, I am particular to the Super Burrito, but I just recently discovered the Rancho Asado Burrito and I will be ordering that from now on. The meat is delicious and makes the rest of the meal great. This is a good place for kids, they give them crayons and something to color, it's also the menu for children. If you love Mexican food this is the place to be in the area.The only thing holding me back from giving it a full five stars is the waitstaff. read more

It's been a long time since my last visit, but I went back for some mexican with my bestie. We walked in and we're quickly greeted and and taken to a table. It was a Saturday night, it was busy and yet everything seemed to be running quite smoothly. When we say down I was pleasantly surprised how clean the restaurant was, and how festive it felt. I love the hand carved chairs!!! My friend and I ordered our food from our super friendly server and our food was delivered pretty quickly. Let me just saw the serving sizes are HUGE!!! I ordered the carne asada and cheese enchilada. It came with perfect refried beans and rice. I do have to say everything was so yummy. I especially was impressed with the enchiladas. This is our go to place for Mexican food! The food is really great. I usually get a combination plate with a taco, enchilada, and tamale. However the other day I order through Door Dash and you could not pick your meats on the combination plates. I was disappointed and I hope they fix this issue. I ended up ordering steak fajitas.
