I have been living in Saint Cloud close to five years and just recently found out about this magical place called Pollo to Go. Being Puerto Rican I am always on the hunt for a location that provides excellent mofongo at an affordable price and they did not disappoint. The prices are incredibly affordable , service is excellent , and the location is outdoors , cozy with ample seating. The whole ambiance is a vibe that brought back the flavors of my youth when living in Puerto Rico. Highly recommend the pizza empanadilla especially the fried pork cracklings with mofongo. Not impressed-- pictures looked great so i sent hubby to pick up some food. The only thing i got that we ordered was the fried pork chunks and most of them were fat chunks. We ordered a combo- and got nothing as pictured. No rice, no fried plantains and no yucca mofongo. So we were given a regular mofongo (no chicharron, inside). Asked for extra onions and got three half rings of a slice. Well i gave them a shot and they failed. Too bad too i had high hopes. read more

Pollo to go is a local favorite in St Cloud on 10th street. It's is Spanish cooked chicken, pretty flavorful, and other items as well I have not tried. I usually get the roast chicken but lately it's been too much seasoning and the chickens are small. The place is clean, usually has a line during meal times. It's a good option if your hungry, live on the state streets and don't want travel too far. read more

For context, I am going to give some additional background on the horrible experience I had while visiting PolloToGo. My cousins and I decided to drive to PolloToGo for takeout. We each placed our own orders. So while we arrived as a group we were essentially three unique orders as far as the kitchen is concerned. To start, upon making the line, we ignored the first sign of trouble which was, the main window is both the order window and pickup window. The second window is occupied by a heat lamp that keeps their alcapurrias and empanadas warm. Odd placement for that, but okay...The, now single, pickup window is overworked and is managing all orders; these include those being placed via phone, in person, and/or GrubHub! All of these orders are being written down, by hand, by a single person. This causes the line to move slower than anticipated. We let this slide as they are a small business, making due with what they have and seem busy....so on the surface it looks to be "worth it".....strike one nonetheless. After waiting in line for approx. 20 minutes our group of three is able to place 3 individual orders about 3 minutes apart from each other. The cashier takes the payment upfront, and we are asked to step to the side until your name is called....standard stuff. Here is when things go down hill. We waited 30 minutes or so AFTER placing our order and finally the first of three orders was called. While we thought 30 minutes was an extremely long time we were glad to finally have one of the orders called. We figured the other two would be right behind, as they were all ordered within minutes of each other. We couldn't have been more wrong.....strike two. It would be an additional 45 minutes until the SECOND order was called. As we waited and looked around we noticed that many of the same people who were either waiting when we got there or not too long after us were still waiting. In between order #1 and #2 there were other orders being filled for customers who came after us and/or picked up by GrubHub drivers. After waiting for a combined two hours at this point, we finally decided to ask about the third order. By this time others are also asking about their orders. We discovered that the third order was missing altogether, despite it being written down by hand and paid for already (remember that?). They now decide to retake the order and start the order from scratch again. The third order would eventually take an additional 30 minutes to make AFTER the order was retaken. All told, it took us close to 3 hours to have 3 orders of standard menu items prepared. All of which were fried, not made to order, with no substitutions. It essentially took 1 hour to serve each person, that is absolutely unheard of! We waited for two reasons: 1. We keep telling ourselves that any minute now we would have our orders. The fact that we paid and there was a long line just to speak to the one person at the window, made it more trouble than it was worth to ask for a refund or risk making scene. 2. After hour two, I wanted to see how bad it would get to see if there was any apology or reason why it was taking so long....but there wasn't. This is simply how they operate. With all that being said, how was the food? Not great...by the time we returned home all but the last order was cold. Some of our food was under cooked (maduros), some of our food was too dry (tostones) and some of our food was too greasy (alcapurrias). The entire trip was a waste of time, money, and effort.....strike 3. I am SUPREMELY disappointed, to say the least, and would caution anyone from visiting this establishment. It is a shame because this area needs small, cultural, businesses like these to not only be more diverse but to continue to grow; but for that to occur the businesses need to be well managed and unfortunately, this one is not! read more

Our favorite takeout place in St. Cloud is Pollo To Go FL. Located 2 blocks west of 192 under giant oak trees is some of the best Puerto Rican food we have found, and it's affordable too. We always make sure to bring a cooler for th extra rice we order to take back home. read more

If you want to eat here call ahead and order! This is a small popular eatery in a small town that does not have much to offer for eating out. They remain busy but it seems it's mostly due to lack of service. Heads up the staff doesn't speak fluent English. It's outdoor seating on some picnic tables so I recommended if you want to try this place call ahead! Otherwise you will be waiting for days in the hot sun. I don't really care for posting bad reviews. I like supporting small businesses. I have frequented this establishment several times hoping for a different outcome. I mean who doesn't need second and third chances. First visit: my son recommended the chicken empanadas. I was told they were out of chicken and they only had beef. Keep in mind the menu has several empanada flavors to choose from and this is a chicken restaurant. Second visit: friend recommended empanadas. We received the order only to be told they combined both our orders and they couldn't tell us which empanadas belong to whom. Third visit: husband wants chicken. We were told that the chicken was in the oven and would not be ready for 20 min. Because we were starving we asked what we could get quick. We were told what.... empanadas! While placing the order we were told 5-7 min. 30 min later our order was called! 30 min! I can tell you the beef empanadas are my favorite the others for me are less desired and they are super greasy. They send them out right from the fryer. Haven't had the chance to try the chicken because I simply don't have time to wait. If you choose to wait walk over and grab a popsicle next door. I considered this establishment because of their selection of empanadillas/pastelillos that included lobster, conch, crab, etc. Disappointment is an understatement! The crab empanadilla was burnt when I was their first and only customer at the time. What's being advertised as a lobster empanadilla is in actuality three pieces of conch meat with a single, minuscule piece of lobster.
