Unfortunately, the customer service completely overshadowed what should have been a fun birthday celebration. I made a reservation for 8 people, which later increased to 10. When we arrived, the hostess was incredibly kind and seated us in the couch area, letting us know we had a 2-hour limit, which we were completely happy to respect. By the time everything settled, four people had canceled, so there were only six of us. The hostess and valet were wonderful, but unfortunately that was where the positive experience ended. About an hour into our reservation (with over an hour still remaining), a staff member approached us and accused us of lying about the size of our party because they needed the couch area for a larger group. If they had simply come over and politely asked if we'd be willing to move to one of the many open smaller tables, we would have gladly done so. We were there to celebrate, not make anyone's job harder. Instead, multiple staff members approached us within minutes of each other, each becoming more abrupt than the last. We had already told the first employee that we were wrapping things up, and literally just a few minutes later another employee came over with even more attitude insisting they needed the space. At that point, I simply said we'd leave. His response was, "Thank you," in a tone that made us feel completely unwelcome. To make matters worse, a wine flight was accidentally delivered to our table that none of us ordered. We politely let the staff know because we didn't want to be charged for something that wasn't ours, and instead of an apology or even checking what happened, we were met with skepticism, as though we were trying to get away with something. We never touched the flight--we simply wanted to make sure the mistake was corrected. What disappointed me most wasn't that they needed the table back. I completely understand restaurants and wineries have to accommodate guests and maximize seating. It was the way we were spoken to throughout the experience. Hospitality goes a long way, and a simple, respectful conversation would have changed everything. We weren't loud, disrespectful, or causing any issues. We still tipped our server because we believe in taking care of service staff, but the overall experience left us feeling uncomfortable and honestly put a damper on my birthday. The scenery is beautiful, and the location has so much potential. Unfortunately, the customer service made the experience feel anything but welcoming. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I hope this feedback encourages management to focus on how guests are treated. A little kindness and professionalism would have made all the difference. Sadly, I don't see myself returning. We did however leave and ended up going to paradise cove right on the beach and the staff was AMAZING so I'm glad it happened but I hope this never happens to someone else Also very over priced for basic items/food. The staff also just didn't seem like they knew what we were doing and we had to flag them down because service was so slow (mind you there was so many of them just kind of huddled not being attentive) and like they didn't even want to be there I'd like to add because I don't know how to reply to your comment as a manager We never ordered that extra flight and let them know immediately and also they never asked us to relocate as I stated we would've been happy to had them asked us nicely as stated above we enjoying our time until the staff spoke so rudely to us. Clearly this was not well documented because we only ordered 2 total flights and being spoken to like that is unacceptable. It's very disappointing to continue to be treated poorly there was multiple people there who can attest to what I'm saying. I guess you just ban people without getting all the facts and have never experienced this ever. I understand guests number changes AGAIN we would've been happy to move if asked nicely nobody offered or asked us to relocate . Also we forsure never ordered an extra flight so again another staff member lying when it's totally fine if it was mistakenly brought to our table. Best of wishes to your business. Sad sharing my experience got me banned it is what it is I just hope no one ever feels uncomfortable for a place with potential

Reservations are recommended, but not 100% necessary. Live music on weekends (check their website). No food is sold, so you're welcome to bring your own snacks/picnics. NOTE: 20% gratuity added to all parties of 6 of more. WINE: Carly poured for us and the service was excellent. However, on the day we visited, they were super busy and understaffed, so they were only offering wines by-the-glass and bottles, no tasting flights. Lots of varietals to choose from. We felt that the wines were well-made and "okay", but others really enjoyed them. As I always say, wine tasting is very subjective to an individual's palate, so you should give them a try for yourselves. We ordered glasses of their NV Surfrider Sparkling Moscato ($18), a 2020 RME Chardonnay ($18), a 2020 Petite Verdot ($20), and a 2018 Block M Cabernet Sauvignon ($25). I felt that the prices for the glasses were a little on the high side, but the pours were generous. We ended up purchasing a bottle of their 2020 G Petit Verdot ($53) to take home. Overall, we enjoyed the live music from Ocean Park Sound System (a 70's funk band) and some nice estate and sourced fruit wines. Would recommend that you check them out if you're looking for a pleasant wine experience.

I found that a lot of the other wineries in Malibu charged to book the reservation and most charged $20-25 for parking, so the free parking alone made me jump to book this place. I didn't want all of my friends to have to drive such a long way AND pay for parking! The space is different than what the old Rosenthal winery used to be, but it's actually more intimate and nicer! Apparently this is where they used to host VIPs before the fire, so it feels like a more exclusive space. The entrance feels quite sudden and easy to miss while driving, but you enter a small driveway after confirming the reservation name with the guard, and then drive along a beautiful road until you hit the entrance. Such a beautiful drive in! There were tables set up for everyone and it's not overly crowded which is nice. They even had live music (they were great!). They had a pretty decent wine list, whites, reds, roses, sweet, bubbly, but no non-alcoholic wines for those curious. They don't serve any food which feels like a bummer at first, but they do allow you to bring any and all food and non-alcoholic beverages you want. So it's essentially like a picnic but at a nice winery. We had plenty of snacks and bites so we were just fine, and they were ok with my bottle of non-alcoholic bubbly wine. We had a great time here! Perfect for celebrations! They still have their fun big blue wooden chair too which is perfect for pics.

It was a gorgeous wedding, and the venue was wonderful. I can't speak to the planning part or anything (though I know Bret and FeiFei liked working with both the site coordinator Cathy and the owners, Jill and Sparky--I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the Avesta Diaries on this page, but she and her damage are history), but from where I was sitting, the place seemed ideal. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and seated reception all took place at Rancho Del Cielo, in different parts of the scenic grounds. There were about a hundred of us in attendance, and we fit perfectly--there was plenty of room to party, but it felt warm and intimate, too. The views were marvelous before and after sundown, well worth the trek to Malibu (though the drive up seemed long and tricky enough that I was grateful the bride and groom hired shuttles). The decor was on point, charming and well suited to an al fresco California wedding. I had a lovely time at Rancho Del Cielo, and would highly recommend it if you're looking to get hitched in Malibu. How they could have a camera in there, to this day, without complaints is astonishing to me. I tried to calmly address this issue with the front desk (before coming here) only to be met with absolute absurdity. The lady managing the desk saw no issue with it and said the camera is there to make sure nobody "damages the room", I argued that we don't want damage in changing rooms and bathrooms but we don't put cameras in them... she didn't understand my correlation, and argued that it's of no concern. I didn't take a photo of the camera, but having looked back on the venues photos of past events, you can see the camera on the wall in that suite for years. Why can't it be hidden during events? Why aren't there signs posted that the bridal suite where everyone is changing is being recorded? Who has access and can monitor that footage? Recommendation: hide the camera when people are changing or provide an alternative location for people to change. If you can't provide a safe space for people to undress without recording them maybe don't hold events. Demand: Delete all past footage that this camera has collected immediately.
