This park blew my mind. First off, I have lived in Ventura County for years and never really traveled or familiarized myself to Simi Valley. Maybe if I would have known that a park like this was here, I would have. It didn't even look like it was in Simi Valley. I felt like I had taken a step out of reality, right in to Yosemite or something along those lines. There were people fishing, geese, ducks, streams, a lake, beautifully kept grass, massive trees, cranes, etc. The list could go on and on. I didn't do too much exploring but was able to take in, what I thought seemed like the most beautiful part. They have fields here, playgrounds, community center and so much more! Literally everything you could think of is here. There were people walking their dogs, riding their bikes along the greenway and I never managed to hear any noise from the street. Well, I didn't notice it at least. My dog and I had a great time! I can't wait to come back. read more

This park has a lot of different features in amenities for you to enjoy built-in barbecue pits has a big lake in the middle. It's always seems to amaze me how the different type of birds flying in and out of there the ducks of course park is very clean no graffiti whatsoever throughout the park, especially in the restrooms big difference from Ventura county to LA county which is sad. What are the politicians here in Ventura doing that the politicians in LA are not doing the park has also a public pool that is very nice. Has all the amenities that any other park would have the main thing about it is that it's very clean. That's probably one of the best features is the cleanliness of the establishment of this park. Great job for the people who run this parking providing and clean it and to the Park Rangers, who keep the peace and keep everybody safe during the concert venues and other different events. Guess we don't get out often enough, or I can confess to sleeping on checking out this park. We drive by it on Royal Avenue multiple times a week, so knew that it was there, but we'd never been there before last Saturday evening. Dear Hubby and I attended the Water Lantern Festival event there, thus experiencing the environment of the park for the first time. The first thing we found was a good-sized parking lot on the west side of the park grounds. Because the festival boasted food trucks to feed the guests, part of the parking lot was devoted to their space. We still had an easy time parking (for free). From there, we walked east past a soccer pitch toward the amphitheater / duck pond area where the festival was in full swing. I didn't realize that the park hosts live music during the summertime. With the natural bowl of the sloping lawn area it would be a nice place to listen to a concert. Bring a blanket, some lawn chairs, and a picnic, and you'd be all set. Am not sure of the restroom situation. The festival brought in porta-potties and free-standing sinks, which were plentiful. There may be actual flush toilets and fresh water sinks in the park, but I didn't see a building for same in the area where we spent time. The duck pond would be a great place to bring kids, but please leave bread at home. It's bad for the digestive system of water fowl. Signs announcing this are around the pond. I'd have to research what better alternatives there are, but bread is a no-no. This park is home to tennis and basketball courts, plus the community swimming pool, too. Centrally located in town and convenient for most residents, it's one of the pluses of living in suburbia to have spaces like this available to get outdoors and play. read more

My friend and I came here after lunch at lazy dog's today. The park is nice and big and plenty of shade. Note there is dog crap everywhere, so watch out you or your dog doesn't step on it. Plenty of little streams, waterfall and ducks all around. Parking was no problem on the tennis court side. Lots of people out enjoying the perfect day. We spent two hours there and the dogs had a great time. It's super close to home too! read more

I was here to run the Arroyo Creek Half Marathon. The parking lot near the intersection of Royal Ave and Thompson Ln was used for the start and finish line for the race. It was a fairly small race, so that parking lot was large enough to accommodate everyone and their cars. The park had nice clean restrooms next to the baseball/softball fields. The race was primarily run on the Arroyo Simi Greenway which was directly north of the park. That bike path was pretty well maintained, but there were some rough patches. From the small portion that I saw, this park looked to be a nice spot for outdoor activities. read more

We love this park in Simi! We usually come here to walk the dogs, and they have a lot of fun chasing the ducks. The park is well-maintained, and during the summer, we come very often to the pool. Favorite local park with tons of amenities. Soccer, basketball, tennis, pickle ball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, toddler and kids playgrounds, duck pond with fishing, plus so much more! Love having this local gem so close to our house it's an easy visit down Arroyo Simi Greenway. There are also lots of local events and concerts held here. Lots of recreational activities (pickle ball/tennis courts, shuffle boards, horseshoe toss areas, community pool, baseball field, duck/goose pond, bike trail, picnic areas, playgrounds, etc. Multiple parking lots! I appreciate that there are two playgrounds: preschool ages 3-5 and ages 5-12. The park needs lighting for the toddler playground. The big kid playground gets enough lighting from the pickle ball/tennis court and pool, but the toddler playground becomes very dark and unsafe with no lighting in the evening. read more

Rancho Simi Park is a great place to kick back, relax and enjoy the SoCal weather. There are two main play areas for children. One for toddlers and one for older children. The center piece of the park is a man-made duck pond that is usually full of our fowl friends. On occasion you'll find a fisherman trying his luck. The park also has nice green areas for tossing a ball. There are covered picnic areas perfect for outdoor birthdays or just a relaxing lunch. Right next door is a public swimming pool. Sporting fields (popular with soccer players) are on the west side. The location is great; right at Royal and Erringer. Parking can be a bit tight if there are parties or other activities going on. The park is generally kept clean, but can get a bit dirty around the pond due to the large amount of geese, ducks, frogs, etc. Overall, this park is a wonderful stop for families and for anyone seeking some great outdoors in the middle of Simi Valley. Well worth a visit! read more

Hello. This park is amazing. I go here all the time on weekends and enjoy just relaxing and watching the water, ducks, Sky, trees, or whatever else I want to watch. The ducks don't attack you, they'll just come up and look for food. If you have it, they'll swarm you for food ( but not violently). If you don't, they'll just leave be. Great park. Really fun place to come with family or kids to feed the ducks, geese, coots, and the occasional pigeon and seagull that comes by. One warning: DO NOT FEED THE DUCKS BREAD! BREAD IS BAD FOR THEM! Instead bring birdseed, which you can buy super cheap at a drugstore. I got a huge bag for $5 and came to feed those bad boys and it's really funny to watch them go crazy for food. Another warning: be on the lookout for goose poop because it is E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E! They also have a nice playground, horseshoe pit and a shuffleboard area, as well as some grills by the patios. It's a nice relaxing place to come with the family, and it's rarely crowded, so I will be coming back here again in the near future! read more

You know you are in Simi Valley when you go to feed Ducks and Families show up with two bags full of fresh bread just purchased. No old stale moldy bread for Simi Valley Ducks. When I was a Kid the Ducks were lucky to get old bread crumbs. Not at this park. Quack Quack calling all Ducks Simi Community Park is the place to live. If you intend on showing up with old bread wear sun glasses and a cap so that no one recognizes you. Shoot you might even be breaking a law or two there in good old Simi. Someone might want to check that out. This is a nice place to bring your Children to feed Ducks. The playground is nothing spectacular but the actual park area is nice. The Ducks were surprisingly well mannered. read more

Strangest thing just happened.... My boyfriend and I were at the community pool playing games where we hug in the weightlessness or I put my arms around him and he pulls me or I pull him. And playing tag. And so after an hour he says his eyes are hurting and he's ready to go. I agree and then I hear a little girl speaking: My mom told me to tell you guys you two are hugging and kissing too much and that I can't see that. And I looked and she was talking to my boyfriend and me. And I was like, are you serious? Yea. I can't see that. She must have been about 7-8 years old. I said, that is what it looks like when two people love each other and we didn't kiss. I will not stop loving my boyfriend. And my boyfriend got pissed and we told three lifeguards who were watching Us what we were told. He said to the anonymous mom, take some parenting classes! What is wrong with you? We weren't doing anything! (He used some foul language too.) And so we left stunned and confused. Why would true innocent affection be shamed? Now I have to give the lifeguards kudos (and their parents too for the way they were raised) as they were watching everyone including us the whole time and were rather surprised about the affection shaming. my boyfriend and i grew up together and we just reunited last year. We have been through a ton of stuff but the fact this mom and this poor little girl felt uncomfortable seeing two people care about each other speaks to a very sad society we are living in. Maybe we should love more and hate less... but it doesn't seem that's the way any more. read more

Just like an old friend It's as if I never left Timeless Zen blossoms This was where I honed my backhand and swinging volleys. My old buddy and I would play for hours on end, which kept us out of trouble. So nice to come home to familiar faces. There's eight lighted courts; still no cost to the public. Afternoons almost guarantees a court--perfect for practicing serves. Also, there's a wall. I've played lots of fantasy matches against Steffi, Monica, and Martina. And Sunday morning is old folk doubles, which is a fun, relaxed, easy workout. read more

The geese and ducks are totally well-trained and sociable here. Plenty of tennis courts, shuffle board and horseshoe pits. Awesome playground for the kiddos, and I actually petted a squirrel while walking my dog here. Loved this place since I was a child. Highly recommended. read more

I love taking my family here...There are 2 wonderful playgrounds and a pond that is good for catching Catfish (although I wouldn't recommend eating them). There is a couple basketball courts and some softball fields. It is just a great place to take the family and hang out. read more
