GPS brought me to a parking lot near the red trail, and there are several intersecting in-and-out trails that measure roughly 2.5 miles each. I would've liked to stay longer and check them all out, but we only had time to do 1.5 trails before we had to turn back. If I lived nearby I would check it out again!

The red and purple trails were my favorite. On my second trip here I wanted to hike for about an hour but I ended up getting lost. Lost in terms of I want to get out but I don't know which way is the exit...I could definitely see the trail markers all throughout though! I recalled seeing a red color marker at the entrance so I followed that but ended up going deeper into the woods. I don't believe the white trail is fully finished as I had to double back a few times. I used google maps to get a sense of where I was but still couldn't make my way to the main road. Went in circles between the blue and green trails (the green trail said it was a 5K, not going to lie I got a bit worried there) but eventually I managed to make my way to Bortons road! and then it was another 30 min walk to my car along kettle run road. So what was supposed to be an hour nice weekend stroll ended up being 2 1/2 hours. Can't complain though, loved exploring!

We decided to explore Black Run Preserve for our first bike trail experience since moving to the area and it didn't disappoint. There are plenty of bike and hiking trails and doing a little research online prior to going I was able to map out which trails would be best for us, specifically since I'm a nervous beginner lol. The trails are color coded and tbe associated color markings are on trees along the trails so you know which trail you're on. There is so much beautiful scenery surrounding you whether you're on bike or foot and there's a real sense of peace and tranquility in the Preserve, Definitely spray yourself down with bug repellent and wear longer pants and tops if it isn't too hot because there are warning signs for ticks and such given it's truly a wooded area. We will be back in the fall for another ride among the beautiful foliage.

Baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, football fields, hiking trails, and a kids jungle gym. The playground is pretty big with dozens of slides and swings and tons of fun things for kids to climb on and run over! The whole park is kept in great shape in general. You can tell the community really cares about their space here! All in all a very nice park with tons of activities! They also do movie nights in the park in the summer! This park pretty much has everything; playgrounds, open spaces, ball fields, basketball courts, a hiking trail (allegedly...we couldn't find it, but that was most likely our fault,) walking paths, etc, etc. Despite being so large, it's also rather connected, if that makes sense, and you're able to get to everything relatively quickly. The park is more "open" than "large." For example, you can get from one playground to another, without having to take a trek. There is a ton of space, but you're able to traverse the space to navigate the park. There's also plenty of parking. Also, they do drive in movies and stuff here, AND, it's dog friendly, so there aren't too many negatives. The only "downside" I could see is that it got pretty busy, and just being crowd-phobic by nature, it's less than ideal for me. We'll definitely be back early and often.

I am proud to be the first to review this park. Well, it is mostly lake. I will explain…read more Fishing types go bonkers over this place consisting of twenty acres. Why? Because the state released in Spring 2015 tons of broadstock trout, a.k.a. "lunkers"; at three to seven pounds each, and measuring fifteen to twenty-four inches in length. It was the most fish released on opening day ever in the state of New Jersey. The lake is at the very end of Industrial Drive. Very easy to locate. The path is covered in goose poop and possibly discarded Christmas trees that were shredded by the township for trail chips. It goes completely around the lake. There are side trails that are short and long, some going to water that divides Crystal from Millcreek Park, and some going to the Rancocas. These side trails can lead to bog, so wear tough footwear. There is a main path that goes to the water between the parks- it is easy to find. There is also a very small lake to the right of the bigger one. This one is probably not stocked, but you never know what's in there. If you pass that lake, you will hit another industrial park. Cross that road to get to Olympia for more fishing. This is a good spot for birdwatching. Blue herons stay really still, so look carefully. Don't litter, because it will hurt everything that breathes here. I would not eat a caught fish. Check with the DEP first. In the summer, wear some kind of repellant. If you see a tent at the very front with audible curse words emanating from it, pass it fast. This park is not to be confused with the park of the same name in Burlington, NJ. Crystal Lake has something for everyone- anglers, walkers, birdwatchers, and bottle hunters. And, yes- even weirdos. Interesting Facts: -I had a part-time pet dog here for a few years. He belonged to the water plant next door. -A friend and I came upon a couple drinking a case of Pepsi in the deep woods bordering this lake. Not sure what was going on... -Old bottles are only worth one buck. -In late January of 2002, the Hi-Temp Specialty Metals plant on Industrial Drive had an explosion in which one employee died and at least a dozen were injured. OSHA fined Hi-Temp. Good.

We took the green trail which is…read moreabout 6.7 miles and came across a lot of wildlife (turtles, snakes, toads, bunnies, field mice). The only downfall was all of the ticks. We went in May and counted about 20 ticks on my husband alone. So long pants and socks are definitely recommended! Also, there can be rattle snakes on this trail so watch where you step!
