i have been a patient at NEA and my spouse also! my spouse…read morewas actually threatened by a RN on the cardiac unit over a bed alarm ! the staff "never ", explained to my spouse he could sign a release to have the bed alarm taken off of his bed ( he was a fall risk) . my spouse , also was blown off by a cardiologist ( it took us three ER visits for Aflutter to be admitted ) and myself when we tried , to talk to him! My spouse , also was seen by a gastro APRN for stomach pain this APRN Margaret Tyler ordered two tests after diagnosing him with celiac disease (herself ) and one of the tests was completely unnecessary for his complaint . Margaret Tyler then ordered , a regular 4 liter bowel prep ( he was suppose to receive a 2 liter gluten free bowel prep and be monitored in a hospital while taking it because he is in , heart failure and has afib/ aflutter this bowel Prep could of put him into further heart failure at the minimum , she never even discussed any of this with my spouse or me ( she was rude during our appt time and never even introduced herself to me as his spouse) , ( I am his medical Power of attorney for his medical needs when he cannot speak for himself ) she ordered a colonoscopy and never told him that he would need to be monitored in the hospital while he was to taking this prep which , is exactly what he was suppose to receive due to celiac disease and his highly complex medical history , nor did she ever explain he would need to be monitored because he is in heart failure and has afib/ aflutter that the regular ( strength prep) could cause many reactions further his heart failure and or cause death) and the gluten free solutions can further exculate his , heart failure and cause a increase in his afib/ aflutter causing possible cardiac arrest or worse , it is written on the warning label of the prep. Margaret tylerAPRN , became completely defensive when I tried to call and speak to her there was no talking with her ( she takes zero accountability for her medication "error " in this situation ! She was turned into the state board of nursing ! The cardiology department also approved my spouse, for this procedure without even looking into what the solution could cause to my spouse ! We will never allow these people to take care of my family again they wil not take accountability for their mistakes ,they do not listen to your wants or needs , they also want to dictate your care to you and do not tell them you will have a say in your healthcare , then it becomes a ego driven angry experience from them to you as the patient and don't complain about their , behaviors towards your spouse or you as his family member , then its just a fight for any care because they show you good care isn't their goal its , do as they say don"t question , their choices ! You better question their choices because they make mistakes regarding your health without any concern for , how it will effect you ! This hospital allowed a RN to threaten my spouse at 11:30 at night ( youll sign this paper or youll leave said this RN after waking him up from a sound sleep) and then they, put her on another , floor to work , the next night after patient abuse to my spouse the night before) this is how they do not care nor address a very serious issue ! I complained to the head of nursing with no actions taken ,except wait for you to leave the hospital so it can continue ! I complained to the head of nursing about being conpletely blown off by a cardiologist when trying to ask him to run tests on my spouse per a VA physcians request from doctor to doctor to find out what was causing his Aflutter and he didnt follow through to help her or my spouse then I complained to the manager of , the cardiac unit about the physician and we told her we will not be using this cardiac physician because if he can blow off our requests then that is who he is when there is a emergency no thank you ! We then received dirty mad looks from the next cardiac doctor because we complained about her friend and we wouldnt just let them order whatever they wanted without looking it up on our own time so they didnt, get to run control over his care , his body his choice his health , patient rights ! It is healthy and smart to watch and always look into their descions regarding your health care, but they act like its a mortal sin to do so and thats concerning ! You have every right to have , the say in your care as a patient and they treat you like that ! it shows , that this has been going on for a long time , this mentality, its all about them not you ! It seems they believe you do as they say give your choices to them disregard your wishes ! They need to realize it is your choice and your right to question any care suggested for you because they are far from never wrong ! Things need , to change for the patient and their family"s , who worry and care what happens to them!!!! Its not patient focused its employee focused care !

They were supposed to be making an appointment for him at an Orthopedic doctor in Jonesboro to reset his arm. He sat at home with a broke arm for two days. He finally called the doctor in Jonesboro to see when they could get him in and turns out the Doctors Clinic hadn't even sent them the paper work or X-rays they needed. Their computer system is super slow and hard to work. The nurse taking the information literally had to pull up Google and search how to use their computer system and the name of a lower arm (wrist) so she could get an x-ray for my boyfriend. She them couldn't remember her passwords and had to go "find" them and left us sitting there forever with my boyfriends arm broke. It's a terrible place. We will not be using it again.
