I am a brand new member so I can't say too much about a total experience but I can offer a first-hand new comer experience. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful in getting me started with my membership. This is one if the few gyms back open from the COVID-19 shut-downs. I am a YMCA Silver Sneakers member but of course they have been closed for several months so I looked into joining this gym. My membership is included with my healthcare but I can tell you that their prices are competitive with the other local gyms. Additionally, this location is offering 24/7 access with security for $5/month which can be a plus to some. For more details, I will include a picture of the handout I was given at this location. The women's locker room: The locker room has mirrors, showers, bathroom stalls, lockers, a sauna, and benches with changing space. Everything was very clean and tidy. Classes, equipment/accessories, and gym extras: This gym does offer classes but I have not attended them. There are towels and mats available for use, as well as tanning but at an extra cost monthly. There are post workout drinks also available with varying costs. The gym is quite spacious with lots of cardio machines and weight lifting machines, free-weights, balls, kettlebells, and other various equipment/accessories available. Spanning across over 100 acres of property, camp has a plethora of options of things that your child can do, so that they can make themselves at home. There is surely an activity for every kid, playing sports, doing arts and crafts, swimming at the lake, and much, much more! And, although Camp Weaver advertises themselves as an outdoor camp, their facilities are equipped with air conditioning and electricity to make your child's stay exciting, yet comfortable. The staff also do a great job promoting a sense of community at camp, and have a collective mission to make each child's experience at camp the best they could possibly have. I would like to highlight Camp Weaver's leadership camps. As a former participant of these programs, I can say that I grew as a leader via the leadership camps, and I can attribute much of my maturity and growth to these programs. These multi-week camp sessions throw campers into situations where they are forced to work together, which teach them valuable soft skills, which they could carry with them into the future. I would highly recommend the Leaders in Training program at Camp Weaver as a way to give your child a fun experience at camp, while also exposing them to a program where they can achieve personal growth. Overall, Camp Weaver is absolutely the best place to send your kid for camp. They will get to try new things, meet new people, grow as individuals, and truly have the experience of a lifetime.

The food was also reasonably priced and had large portions, which was a nice surprise. They provided free bottled waters to guests as it has been such a hot July. I attended on July 7 with 4 adults. I did pay for a covered chairs for 2 which was worth the price. A disappointment was the rides and pools closed abruptly around 3:30 p.m. due to the threat of rain. While safety always comes first, it ended up not raining at all, so it was frustrating to lose several hours. Also, the staff had no idea and provided little updates when it did close. I wish there were more indoor or covered seating areas to escape the sun and enjoy a meal comfortably and possibly an adult area.  I loved the lazee river was able to go around and around and relax. I also enjoy riding the edge it is so thrilling. Also note that on a normal day some rides (located in the back of the park) close an hour earlier than the park's closure and some rides open an hour later after the park opens (soak zone). You do have to pay to park.  I had a fun visit and would definitely come back. Hopefully next time the weather cooperates a little better. As most reviews I will be back it is too close to home to not enjoy and next time I will review the food a bit more.

Both of my older sisters also went to HPC. One of them was a cheerleader and got injured in a fall during a routine at Simeon Stadium here. I remember my parents and I were eating dinner at the buffet at Quincy's on Westchester Drive when it happened. The High Point Athletic Complex consists of the Ed Price Baseball Field (500-650 seats), eight soccer fields (the biggest one with 600 seats), a track and football field (1,500 seats), a multipurpose practice field, and A.J. Simeon Stadium (10,000-15,000 seats). The latter is home to both the Central and crosstown rival T. Wingate Andrews football teams. The City owns and operates the entire complex, except Simeon Stadium, through its Parks & Rec department. Guilford County Schools owns and operates Simeon Stadium so the football stadium is technically not city property. We made headlines my freshman year at Central because the kicker on our football team was female: Snow Brenner. She went on to play soccer for Duke and is now an orthopedic surgeon. Her younger brother, Wich, was my year (class of 2000) and he was the kicker our senior year when we won the North Carolina 2-A state championship. Central went 15-0 that year (1999). Wich went on to kick for Texas Tech. The year prior to winning the state championship, I recall the disappointing playoff loss we suffered at home to eventual champion Shelby. The year we graduated, the team we beat to win the state championship, Southwest Onslow, won the title. During that time, the PA announcer at Simeon Stadium was Larry Craven. I recognized his voice because he was the news director at 1230 AM WMFR (High Point). Simeon Stadium on Friday nights in the fall was the place to be for high school football. I took one of my cousins from California, who was visiting colleges on the East Coast at the time, to a football game here and she loved it. Parents liked to get tipsy in the parking lot/field too. I'm glad I got to experience it and I still like to tell people how my high school won the state championship in football my senior year. As for HPC soccer games, my friends and I had too much fun, especially with the opposing teams; Lexington City Schools being among them. Shenanigans were had and I'll leave it at that. :) Note: Depending on where you look, the seating capacity numbers for the complex's facilities can vary which is why I have some ranges listed above.

I liked the walking trail the most. The Clarence Smith Ball field is lighted. The picnic shelter is reservable. The pool is closed for the season which runs Memorial Day weekend through the middle of August. There's a cool looking slide too. Some of the picnic tables are in the shade and that was a nice rest for a bit to catch up on the Internet and figure out what's next in Asheboro. The air is fresh and it does have roof coverings. The only issue I ever had was going after several days of rainy weather and the road was slick. I really enjoy this range. It feels safer than indoor ranges because the range officers are right there with the shooters. I highly recommend.
