I love the concept of this place. 5$ and you get to try out any board game you want with friends. We tried Jokes de Papa, L'osti de jeu, a jenga lookalike with wiry metal sticks, and Marrakech a sort of monopoly type game with money and rugs. Jokes de papa is about making your opponents laugh with lame dad jokes. L'osti de jeu is cards against humanity but in Quebecois. The jenga lookalike is that you have to balance metal rods until you have no more rods left. Marrakech is about putting down rugs and trying to make your opponents land on them so they have to pay you money. We all really enjoyed ourselves. It's just fun to play games as a group and get served and explained the rules. However, the food does fall flat. There's nothing really special about it and it's small portions to protect the games. Same goes for drinks, no pitchers to share, only large format. Make sure to get there early as they don't take reservations and the lineups are insane!

Fun place for board games. Foods r not the most essential here a lots people just ordered a drink to be able to play. Recommend this place for a group of friends who want to try out new games. We didn't finish our nacho in the end as the portion was pretty huge.

With over 1,000 different games to choose from, your time at Randolph will be anything but boring! Their staff is friendly, welcoming and - super important - knowledgeable about every game in the place! If you don't know what to play, they'll gladly give you some suggestions, will take the time to sit down with you and explain the rules, and will answer any questions you may have throughout. The drink prices are average and their menu is also getting better. Since they opened last fall, they've already added on a number of nibble items and are now equipped with a full bar. Make sure to try one of their freshly baked cookies; they're sinfully delicious!!! Oh. And here's a tip for the social/group game lovers: every Wednesday evening is their big Loup Garou game (werewolf). Starts at 7pm and is played on the top floor. Just keep in mind that most players will be francophone. But seriously, don't be intimidated. It's an absolute blast!

What an interesting concept for a bar! For a $5 you can play board games to your heart's content. Not a board game person? Nothing to worry about as there are consultants on hand to make recommendations based on your interests. If you are an avid gamer then you'll be in heaven as the walls are lined with tons of board games. Drink prices are on par for Montreal bars. They also are adequately strong. You could really taste the whisky in my Irish hot chocolate so I felt that I got my money's worth. There is also a decent food menu. The prices are very reasonable but I do wish the portions were slightly bigger. I had the bacon mac and cheese and while it was tasty (and cheesy) I still wasn't full when all was said and done. It is popular and since it is small it gets crowded very early. I came for happy hour and by 7 or so it was full so come as early as you can. My guess is that weekends are way worse.

So it's raining and you're really in a mood to meet up with friends and play some board games? Then it's a perfect place for you! This is a great place to meet up with your friends and have some food and drinks and pass the day/night playing all sorts of games. The service is great and the friendly staff members are happy to recommend some cool games for your group, whether it's only 2 of you or 10. Definitely a place I'd visit again!

OMG, THIS PLACE IS THE BEST EVER!!! Board games and drinks. They have over 1000+ unique games to choose from that are sure to fit anyone's taste and style. Even as a board game collector and enthusiast, I'm blown away by their collections! You don't need to know how to play to come here. The waiters are extremely knowledgeable and they can suggest games that suit the group. They would teach you how to play the games and even play a few rounds with you if necessary. Oh, and make sure to try out their Irish Hot Chocolate! There's a $5 cover fee per person but there's no limit to how long you stay or how many games you play. Apparently if you come after 8pm on Friday or Saturday nights, there'll be a line outside. If there was a store like this where I'm from, I would come here every weekend!

A board/card gamer's heaven and an awesome place to go to have drinks or hot chocolate during the winter and play a few board games with your friends. The staff were attentive and friendly and I really enjoyed myself. I had the apple cider and it was delicious! And when I say board games, I literally mean libraries full of them with many additional copies of them too in case someone else wants to play with that same game you plan to. The selection is amazing in both English and French. There's an entry charge but let's be honest, if you didn't pay to get in you'll just come here and free load these free games won't you? Buy a drink, maybe three and have some fun.

Even those with more casual interest in beer probably know that DDC makes really great drinks. And yep, they were excellent. I wasn't there to do a long session, so I got a couple tasters, one including Peche Mortal and the other a NEIPA. Two very different styles and both extremely well done. Beyond that, the space had a very old-fashioned look. Really nice wooden fixtures and a very warm, welcoming vibe. The server was also attentive and friendly, but also knew when to let people sit back and enjoy their drinks. You probably don't need me to tell you, but yes, you should go.

He expressed interest in hitting up some breweries, so I did some research and compiled a few we could potentially visit. Brasserie Dieu du Ciel was one of them, and it just so happened we were in its vicinity after our Mile End food tour concluded. That being said, we made our way over. While I am not a beer person myself, I'll have a round or two if I'm with a group, and can appreciate a good brewery. My first impression of Dieu du Ciel was just that - the vibes were on walking in. The space is pretty large - kinda separated into semi- compartmentalized spaces with tables throughout. There's not much decor, but medium-toned woods throughout which gave it a sort of upscale feel. They offer a food menu, but we were just here for drinks. They have a really wide selection of beer - again, I'm no connoisseur, but I could tell that the selection was way more than other breweries I've been to. I ended up getting a cider for the first round and a stout for my second round - both very good. Service was great, and overall we enjoyed our time at Dieu du Ciel. Their selection and comfortable setting made it a standout brewery for me out of the ones I've visited in Montreal - I wouldn't hesitate to return.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

Review for their Quartier Dix30 location, 2025…read more.. Horrible ending to our night, false accusations by their staff... My friends and I went to this pub as a portion of our celebrating one of their birthdays this evening. For context I and my friends are in our late 30s to early 40s, and we had beforehand gone to another establishment but the temperature was unbearable as they did not have air conditioning so we sought out an alternative and chose Mckibbin's. Funnily enough, Mckibbin's didn't have AC either but we ended up staying for a few drinks regardless, mostly to appreciate the live music which was quite good. The waitress was good as well, quick and friendly, we had a minor snafu with a couple of the drinks which were not to our liking but the bar graceously replaced them which is yet another solid point in their favor. Why, you might ask in that case, would I be rating this establishment one star then? Well it all comes down to how we ultimately exited the establishment. We all paid our tab at the table, and finished up the rest of our drinks, still enjoying the music playing. It was a great band by the way, I just have to say. We all ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and all seemed well, except it was only once we're outside that I found out that apparently one of our group who had gone to the bathroom had been victim of a rather apauling scenario. He had been in the stall for 10 or so minutes (he was doing what he had to do .. sometimes nature calls), and was interrupted by a knock on his stall only to hear the bouncer tell him he had to pay and get out of the bar immediately. The bouncer aparrently had heard him "sniffing" his nose in the stall, and found that to be appropriate reason enough to accuse him of doing cocaine in the stall, and to force him out of the bar. Of course it did not cross his mind to think that perhaps it had something to do with the bar being at approximately 29 degrees, perhaps my friend simply had a stuffy nose, or perhaps he had allergies, no he heard a few sniffles and that was all he needed to throw out allegations. Needless to say, I'm completely and utterly disgusted having learned this. Ultimately we left and let things be, we weren't about to bust back in there and cause disruption for no reason we were already on our way out anyway, but to think that this man, employed by this establishment, could be so outlandishly shortsighted is a true injustice. Suffice to say, my friend has never done cocaine in his life, we quite literally made jokes about this man's accusations the whole ride home. Still, I will never go back to this place, because I shudder to think of myself in his situation and what I might do, how it would make me feel to be on the bad end of this kind of person's shortsighted and unfounded accusations. That said, I urge anyone and everyone to beware of the types of people this establishment has working under its payroll. Most of their staff (everyone else in-fact) were excellent, but unfortunately it only takes one completely rotten apple to ruin the bunch.
