STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUTCHER OF A DOCTOR!!! His office in Hemet should be condemned. The receptionist had a folding card table and a chair for a front desk. But it wasn't even a front desk. It was just sitting in the middle of the lobby of what used to be a bank. He did an outpatient procedure on my wife which ended up giving her MRSA. I really am just trying to get an appointment to see if I have skin cancer or not.. to wait 4 months is a bit ridiculous. If you are booked that far out, you should stop taking new patients and wasting their time. Why would you want your patients who could possibly have malignant lesions to wait months on end just for a diagnosis? If seen, how much longer would I wait for treatment? Dr Jacobs is okay as a dermatologist, but as a medical professional he left me feeling disrespected and disregarded, negating any trust in our doctor/patient relationship. After I politely corrected his use of female pronouns for me as a trans man, he bluntly asked me about the status of my genitalia (the rash needing treatment was on my elbow), then proceeded to continue to misgender me to the student he was training (hopefully not in bedside manner or humanity). I had travelled quite some distance for this referral and so bit my tongue and just took the single visit, but I will not be returning to either of his offices after that utter disrespect. read more

It amazes me that Doctor Randy Jacobs still claims to be a Dermatologist! He has left me with permanent scarring. When taking a biopsy of my skin on my neck he did not wear gloves or even wash his hands after. But he did answer his cellphone while twisting the cap onto the container he put my biopsy into. Dr.Randy is not only a highly skilled doctor, he is also kind and truly concerned for his patients needs. He has been my doctor for several years and he and his staff are experts and are very thorough in examinations as well as knowledge. I am so disappointed with this office. The office staff handled my situation poorly and was extremely unprofessional. Two different appointments and both were a disaster with the office staff. Completely rude, curt, and unhelpful. I would not recommend this office. In mid June, my dad was seen by Dr. Jacobs for dry skin and a mild breakout on his arms. Dr. Jacobs changed his soap and gave him a cream ointment. Several weeks later, my dad's skin was dramatically worse (red rash like). We took him back and Dr. Alpern saw him. He then prescribed oral steroids and more cream. We were told that after two days on steroids dad should be significantly better. He wasn't... he was much worse! They continued the steroids for another five days. Dad was miserable, in pain and the breakout had spread throughout his body. We called the office back two days later and they prescribed benadryl to dad. Last Friday, we rushed dad to an urgent care because he was getting much worse and in pain from the rash/break out. The break out was all over his back, face, arms and body. Dad has been miserable for about seven weeks. Yesterday, he saw the new doctor. This dermatologist did a skin culture and within minutes knew dad had a fungal infection. He gave dad pills for 2 weeks to treat the infection. The steroids and cream (with steroids) were making the infection spread and making it worse. We were told that the infection was very contagious and that's why it was spreading. Very happy to have found someone else that has treated my dad and getting him on the mend. read more

I took my teenage son to see Dr. Jacobs for acne. I must say that he helped my son tremendously with the problem, prescribing the correct antibiotics and skin lotions to clear his skin up very well and very quickly. Not only that, Dr. Jacobs was very kind to the fact that we were cash-paying clients, and so he worked with me to find the most economical solutions while at the same time wanting the best for us. But here is the BEST part. When I told Dr. Jacobs we were being hassled about the pledged price for cash-paying patients for certain products, he actually called the pharmacy right there and then to solve the issue. I mean, how many doctors in the world will literally call and do battle with the pharmacy right there and then while you are in his office?! That speaks volumes. In fact, the only reason I gave his office a four instead of a five is because the wait times. When we visit I always brace myself for a long wait in the sitting room, even though the gals who run the office are pretty nice. read more

This review is based on my experiences with Charity Morris who is one of the assistants in the office. She is very personable and I feel like she cares about me as a person. She asks how things are and remembers what had been happening in my life on the previous visit. My one complaint that earns her a 4 instead of a 5 is that twice I have had to wait a very long time to see her when she has gotten behind. Especially for a busy professional like myself, I expect to be seen within a reasonable time of my scheduled appointment. Waiting an hour does not fit within my schedule. I have been going to Dr Jacobs for 20+ years. He has always taken his time, totally listened to my concerns and thoroughly explained the options for treatment. He has treated my acne, removed many precancerous moles and handled all other skin concerns I have had in my adult life. Waited here for 2 hours and had waited for this appointment for about 1-2 months. If they are too packed, why don't they give me another day to come here? They had the time to do so in advance. My 1st visit was with the PA and I had to wait over a hour to be seen which I'm seeing with the other reviews. My appointment was for a possible biopsy on a lesion on my arm. She decided to freeze it instead of biopsy and froze it so deep there is still a hole in my arm. She also froze 16 other lesions in various areas and some of them still have holes. I've been to very reputable Dermatologists and not one ever did anything like this. I signed up with a HMO this year and I guess that's what I get. I absolutely love Dr Jacobs he has been my dermatologist for about 3 years now and he has helped me with my skin my beauty needs particularly my lips and other skin care needs and procedures I have needed them. Dr Jacobs is the most unprofessional doctor I've ever experienced. I made an appointment and have been sitting here for almost 2 hours. His initial "diagnosis" of my 2 year old sons skin condition two months ago was way off, and now his surgeries have to be postponed because they won't operate without his skinned being cleared up. Even the nurses and desk personnel keep apologizing for him, and say that thursdays are their worst day because he is here that day, and he is always behind. There's a waiting room PACKED full of pissed off people, so I know I'm not the only one thinking this. Update: just saw dr Jacobs. He said my sons skin is "like a car engine leaking oil," and suggested we read his book to seek treatment for the skin condition. I am beyond pissed Oh, and I forgot to mention that our room had loaded syringes laying around. AND Dr Jacobs didn't wash his hands after touching my son and leaving the room. I just had a return visit to Dr. Randy Jacob's office for another skin cancer removal. Once again, I found the entire experience productive and beneficial for the necessity of the procedure. The office staff is exemplary. Helpful and most positive. Very willing to assist in facilitating all facets of the process. Dr. Jacobs is always optimistic, insightful, and ready to proceed with a prompt treatment procedure. His PA was also most helpful along with a practicing resident. Took my son in to see Dr Jacobs for his "nail fungus" I was told by Kaiser many years ago that his nails deteriorating was because of fungus. When I walked in office staff were very friendly. I was seen about 10 minutes after my appointment time. (Not that bad) It has to be a good sign that they get so busy! My son was seen by Dr Phillips and right away he was able to diagnose my sons nails with Lichen Planus. He even went and brought me text books to show and explain a little more about the issue. I was referred to this office by my primary care doctor. I waited over an hour in the waiting room to be seen. They didn't have my referral, thank god I brought a copy. I believe that when a patient has a set appointment time (for which I was 10 minutes early) I should be seen at the time reserved for me. There were 3 other people in the office all with a 9am appointment time and they were all seen and left before I was even called. I don't think it's acceptable! But the PAC Charity Morris is amazing and very thorough. I will come back because of her but will make sure I allow an hour plus for my appointment. read more

He explained what he was seeing, things I should be looking for and doing and was very considerate about how to approach procedures from an insurance/cost stand point. I am sick of doctor's offices thinking their time is more valuable than mine. Nothing was said about waiting so long until I said something, then it was some bull. It really isn't the doctor's fault, sometimes, it is how these people schedule. I was in Medical office management for over 35 years, If a problem came up I explained it to the patients. And after working for the Doctor one would think one knows how the doctor practices so schedule accordingly. Now it seems like no one deserves an explanation or no one cares about the patients . Waited almost two hours for the doctor to show, but got tired of waiting and left. Totally ridiculous that the doctor does not care about his patients' time. During my check-in, two patients came in behind me to check-in, each having the same appointment time as me. This doctor is overbooking patients which creates long wait times. This office is absolutely filthy and disgusting! Upon being called to come back to my exam room I noticed the office was undergoing some construction as there was paint, drywall mud ect on the walls and carpet in which I was willing to over look that, however; I asked to use the bathroom and was told to have a seat in a chair that was sitting in the hallway until the bathroom was available, the chair had a large center area that looked wet, like someone had urinated on it along with other white stains! I asked the lady "what is that on the chair?" she replied we are under construction, I said "it looks wet, I would rather stand!"! Upon entering the bathroom I noticed on the seat protector dispenser there was yellow spots all over it, looked like urine! The floors had an accumulation of dirt around edges and corners and just plain filth! I couldn't believe it! I came out and showed the lady what I saw and she again blamed it on the construction! I told her "this isnt construction dirt this is filth that's been here a long time! I preceded to walk out in disgust and leave my appointment! Dr. Jacob's called me later and tried to explain they were under construction, I told him the same thing I told the lady, "this is not construction dirt, this is filth! disgusting and unsanitary filth!" He offered me to go to one of his other offices and I declined! I am in utter shock! I can't believe there are actual Doctors in business under these un healthy conditions! read more
