My realtor referred me to a few lenders including Randall for a refinancing need. I made sure to share with my realtor my experience so that he stops referring Randall to others. From the get go my gutt feeling was telling me I could not trust him. I should have listened to this.. He was very talkative on the phone, vague with information, and his texts very confusing - barely could make sense of some of them at times (for instance: "are you a condo?"). I filled out the application and emailed everything. I was surprised that it was allowed to send confidential documents via a regular gmail account - not through a protected website. Second red flag! I was excited because Randall was promising the moon (i.e. preferential interest rate, low closing costs, etc.) When I submitted everything and filled out the application, Randy still asked the same questions. I was thinking why did I bother filling an app out if I need to repeat everything again. The surprise came when the first hurdle of the appraisal came. Another lender was able to waive it so was expected the same from him. That was not the case. Randy also told me he would gather all info but not pull up hard inquiry on credit until sure we'd proceed. The problem is that he was not clear, he promised things beyond what he was capable of offering, and I ended puling the plug and went somewhere else.
