We love all the Route 66 throwbacks and really hope they never change the Route 66-themed bathrooms or move the Mother Road show semi out front. It gives the whole place such a fun, nostalgic vibe you don't find at most travel centers. There are tons of food choices, a truck wash/tub, and even a barber on site which is pretty rare these days. They usually have mid price gas, and you know that your money is staying within the community so that is a big advantage. It's the street that you wouldn't really drive down unless you were coming in to Joplin for something or unless you lived here - which is why I say it's for locals. To get off the freeway and to get to the gas station took 25 minutes. And to get back on the freeway, took an additional 20 minutes. My husband was very upset.
