At some point they switched to this new online/chat-based appointment booking system called "Klara" and ever since getting an appointment has been next to impossible. They no longer seem to answer the phones and you are essentially forced into using the new system. You are told someone will call you shortly, but that never happens. The other fun thing about this system is that it literally tells you when your message has been received and read, which means you're absolutely aware of the fact that you have been frequently "left on read" when trying to make an appointment...for DAYS. I guess if I was trying to make an appointment for something cosmetic there would be no real sense of urgency required, but as someone with a strong familial history of skin cancer, this feels pretty bad. Also worth noting that this place is out of network for me but I chose to pay more to be seen here in the past because I was so happy with the medical treatment I received. No longer. I'll be getting a referral from my PCP and just pay my 20 dollar copay for my treatments and procedures now.

I decided to disclose my specific procedure because I could find no reviews by other patients who had the same surgery; which would have been helpful to me when doing my own research. Dr. Stevens was recommended by a friend who had multiple procedures under his care and was consistently happy with her results. Just a little background on me - I am a mother of two, who spent a solid two years of my life breastfeeding. Fortunately, I also have medical background that was helpful during this process. Surgery is a big decision and I consider myself to be a person with exceptionally high standards, which is why I researched everything in depth beforehand. After educating myself as best I could about the procedure and reading reviews online, I took the plunge and made an appointment with Kendel, the physician liaison. Kendel was friendly and knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and provided realistic expectations. I met with Dr. Stevens thereafter and was pleasantly surprised by his honesty and down-to-earth nature. He was very professional which I feel is important when dealing with a topic so sensitive and personal. After I met with him, I felt confident about the surgery and had a good idea of what to expect. The day of my surgery I was nervous, but after meeting with Dr. Stevens and the anesthetist felt more at ease. Dr. Stevens had a calm, "business as usual" demeanor that made me even more comfortable. Before I knew it, I was waking up in recovery and ready to go home! The pain was minimal, (nothing compared to a c-section for those of you who have had one). I was given a number to call if I needed anything at any time of day or night. Dr. Stevens called me himself the night of my surgery to make sure I was okay, which I thought was pretty awesome and accurately depicts the sort of person he really is - the caring, compassionate sort. On the third day after my surgery my bandages were removed to reveal perfect, perky breasts. I nearly cried because I felt like I was seeing what I should have been born with. My result was exactly what I had asked for and even exceeded my own expectations. I already knew to expect scarring, (there is no way around that with this type of procedure) but his suturing is wonderful and I expect the scars to fade significantly with time. I am physically more comfortable and overall a happier person! My confidence has been restored! THANK YOU Dr. Stevens from the bottom of my heart. You have changed my life for the better and I would not hesitate to return to you should I ever decide to have another procedure. I would recommend you to anyone considering a surgery.

When the receptionist asked what procedure I was interested in, I explained the situation and mentioned that my previous surgeon had retired. The receptionist immediately interrupted me and stated that my surgeon was not retired. I attempted several times to clarify who I was referring to and provide additional information, but I was repeatedly interrupted and was not given an opportunity to finish explaining my situation. The only response I was ultimately able to hear was, "We are not taking any new patients." I understand that a medical office may not be accepting new patients; however, I believe the way this information is communicated is equally important. I found the interaction unnecessarily rude and dismissive, particularly when I was simply trying to ask a question and provide clarification. I ultimately said, "Well, thanks for not letting me speak," because I felt I was not being given an opportunity to communicate. As a potential new patient, this interaction was concerning. It left me wondering how patients are treated when they have questions, concerns, or complications that require additional communication and support. First impressions matter, especially in healthcare, and I hope the office considers providing staff with training on professional and respectful communication with prospective and current patients.

He is warm, compassionate, takes the time to listen, and never makes me feel rushed. He's also helped me manage a recurring skin condition and my long-term skincare needs. Because Dr. Dehesa is so popular, appointments with him can book well in advance, but I've also seen his physician assistant, Dave, who is excellent. He stitched my forehead after my basal cell removal at the previous practice and recently got me in quickly for a new area of concern. He has a fantastic bedside manner, listened carefully to my concerns without dismissing them, and clearly explained what he was seeing along with my options. Have had nothing but problems since coming here in January or 2023. Originally came for eczema…read moretreatment and after my first visit the doctor "forgot" to send my prescription in and I was completely forgotten for 4 months until my eczema flared up so severely I had to contact them again and ask them to fill it! I went in again in June of 23 and was seen by a PA, Shawn, who was very nice and helped me get started with Dupixent's QuickStart program, as well as an emergency sample to help calm my skin. However, 3 months later I was dropped for some unknown when I moved from Visalia to Exeter even though there had been no change in my insurance. In addition to this I was also unable to fill my normal acne prescriptions as well. I was told the person originally running it moved so that patient volumes had increased and Shawn couldn't see me, no big deal. When asked if they could simply refill my prescriptions over the phone I was told I had to come in (even though I was already approved for the Dupixent in Nov) so instead I booked another appt with Dr. Lutzker who happened to be the next available. I left work early and when I showed up for my appointment I was informed he had left for the day and that the staff forgot to call me and inform me-thanks! Not only did I have to take off work, drive from Exeter to Visalia, but now I had to do it a second time because they forgot to call me?! Fast forward to my appt with Dr. Lutzker. He was incredibly rude and did not once let me speak or inform him of my problems or concerns. It was so bad that even his assistant apologized when he left the room. Not only did he completely disregard my request to fill my prescriptions, but he sent me home with 7 new ones! Why? Why is that necessary when 1) I already informed him I had tried them and they didn't work and 2) I JUST wanted a refill!!! I was told to come back in two weeks and if it didn't work I could have an emergency kenalog shot even though "it is incredibly bad for women." Then why prescribe it to a woman?! Having already received one from a previous doctor at another practice, I had no interest and instead asked for a sample of the dupixent, since I had received one at Luxe prior to getting approved for the medication from my insurance. I was told no. Fast forward to my next appointment with Dr. Lutzker again, and I was informed that I was approved of my prescription back in November, "and why didn't I say so?" I DID! He had just interrupted me so many times I couldn't actually say it! But at least I could finally get some relief and get my shot I knew that worked-or so I thought. So it was sent in to Walgreens for pick up. I drive there to pick up and was informed it was not sent. I called the office and they informed me that they would send it right over so again, I drive across town to Walgreens the next day because it's the only pharmacy that carries it but again, nothing. After going back and forth with them, I was finally put into contact with Devan, their patient coordinator. At this point I feel as though she knows exactly who I am because I have called with so many problems regarding my prescription during the first time when I was trying to get approved. I last spoke to her two months ago and she assured me she would take care of everything and help me get the treatment I need. Since then I have not heard a word. At this point I give up and am going to seek care somewhere else. I work for the state and have the best PPO plan they offer, my insurance is not the problem, this office is. Hopefully they can get their act together soon, a patient shouldn't have to beg for treatment!
