Been coming here for a while, always long wait times. I had scheduled an appointment and left work early but when I arrived they had a sign on door "all appointments canceled due to power outage". No text or call to notify me. I then assumed they would call to reschedule but 4-5 months later no call from them. So i decided to call and reschedule my appointment. They said they are booked 2-3 weeks out for a 4:00 appointment. I said I am flexible this entire week (summer) and if I can be put on the wait list for cancellation. They said "No" I have to have a current appointment to be put on wait list. Making appointments should be easy and convenient for long term customers. read more

I have been to this dermatology office after being to 2 others in the area. I see Hailey Newberry, one of the PA's! She has given me skin checks, removed a few questionable moles, helped me with my adult acne and some dry skin problems! Today I had a microneedling treatment and it was so easy! My MD sent me to Macias Dermatology last year for just a skin check last year. There was a long wait in the waiting room and then in the exam room. Two women came in the room, the first one didn't say who she was or her name, she did introduce the other woman as a student, I don't know if the first woman was an MD, PA or what. The skin check was the fastest check I ever went through, I don't know how they could've found anything, and they didn't find the area under my arm about a week later. It was a soft wiggly mass, I went to a different dermatologist the next day and thy said it was a cyst, and they removed it, and sent it to be checked. It was negative, but it scared the heck out of me when I found it. My next appointment for a skin check is next week and I just cancelled it when I receive a text from them. I will go the other dermatologist I went to that removed the cyst. read more

I'm very unhappy with both the billing process and the quality of service at this office. At my first visit, their check-in kiosk was not working and did not capture my insurance information. The front desk staff never asked for my insurance card or verified my coverage and instead assumed the visit was self-pay. Later, I received a bill that should have been processed through my insurance. When I contacted the office, I was told my primary care physician needed to send an authorization referral. My primary care office confirmed that it was sent. I provided my insurance ID card and, most recently, even sent them the original referral directly to avoid any confusion. Despite all of this, I was repeatedly told I needed to pay out of pocket. Today was the final straw. I called the office again after sending the referral, and the person who reviewed it told me, "Oh yeah, your insurance doesn't need a prior authorization. I can schedule you now." This is exactly what I have been trying to explain to them the entire time. The lack of communication and understanding of insurance requirements has been incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. On top of the billing issues, I was also disappointed with the medical care. I did not feel that my condition was properly treated, and it felt like medications were being tried without meaningful improvement. Between the poor billing practices and unsatisfactory care, I will not be returning. This office seriously needs better communication, insurance verification, and overall patient management. read more

Hailey Newberry disagreed with my Medical Doctor's expert diagnosis and recommended an injection that wasn't going to improve my problem and was extremely impatient and rude when I asked for the indication for the injection. The visit did nothing for my skin condition. It's so very important to establish a trusted relationship with a provider who is knowledgeable and listens to the patients treatment goals. She didn't comprehend the reason for my referral. I could have been offered a much more effective solution if I was seen by a highly trained professional. Hailey Newberry made this dermatology visit extremely unpleasant. Have been dealing with a number of health issues since October 2022. My Oncologist wanted me to get in ASAP to a dermatologist. Since my son, daughter-in-law & family go here it was a no brainer to choose Dr Macias's Office. Called on a Thursday afternoon, the young lady on the phone said they had opening for next morning. How often does that happen? The young lady sent me a link to fill out a few things. Arrived about 15 minutes early for appointment. They had more paperwork for me to fill out. Wait time wasn't too bad before going to exam room and the Doctor Michelle Flores coming in. We discussed what's going on, she did thorough exam literally head to toe. Froze a 4 spots & small biopsy was taken. They even have their own little pharmacy inside the office, also have a large supply of products they sell. Everyone super accommodating & friendly. Stay far away from this place. They are very expensive and do not know what they are doing. You will get someone that is still training or has almost no experience. If they have any issues like they did with me they will over charge your insurance basically making you pay double out of pocket. See photo they will call it complex and charge double. I have been a patient of Dr Macias for years. Unfortunately, my husband retired from the Navy, was hired in Texas and we moved last year. I had to wait 3 months to see my new Dr in Texas. It was a TERRIBLE experience. They wouldn't renew my medications that I've been on for years. The skin check was rushed and I felt inadequate for what was needed and what I was used to. I left in a panic. I was able to quickly make a Telehealth appt with Dr Macias' office and renew all of my prescriptions.
