I have been coming to dr raoof for over 10 years and I must say his products work so I don't see why people are complaining . They used to be more stronger and they have changed them up over the years but I would think there was something wrong if they didn't improve over the years. First of all- this review has nothing to do with the professionalism of Dr. Rebecca Raoof- in fact I very much enjoy her services and think she is a terrific doctor. Unfortunately, this review is in regards to the staff. I called on Monday to make an appointment for Wednesday morning, and expressed on the phone multiple times I would need enough time to make the appointment at 8:30am and be done by 9:15-9:30am for work- otherwise I would need to reschedule for a different time. The staff member assured me that the appointment would only take 30 minutes- and the doctor was leaving on vacation until the end of the month so now was the best time to get in. Following the phone call I received an email with confirmation for a Tuesday morning appointment. This was incorrect- as I was scheduled to meet on Wednesday. I called back and the change was made with no issues. I arrived to my appointment only to find a semi-panicked staff asking around to see if Rebecca had been informed she had an appointment that morning. They told me she was stuck in traffic, and would be in soon. They took me in to get ready for my appointment, where again I mentioned that if she was going to be super late- I would need to reschedule. They told me that they had called her and she was only a few minutes away. They continued to come into the exam room- tell me they had contacted her and she was on her way. They suggested that I should call my work (which I had already taken time off from that morning) and inform them that I would be later than anticipated. They also said that the doctor would perform my procedure quickly once she got in. Finally, I ended up deciding to reschedule. When I walked out to speak to the receptionist, she pretended to be on the phone with Dr. Rebecca, and told me the doctor was coming up the elevator right at that moment. When I said I still had to leave- she then put her iphone down (where I could then see she wasn't actually on the phone)- and told me that the reality was nobody had told the doctor of my appointment and they didn't know where she was or how late she would be. Now, I am very aware that mistakes happen. However, every time I have gone into this office, I have been the only patient in the waiting room. And every time I call to make an appointment, they have open availability. So they don't seem to be an office that is overwhelmed or inundated with patients and appointments. The fact that there are THREE receptionists, and not one of them was able to inform the doctor of her appointments was concerning to me. Not to mention that it had been mis-logged to begin with. Then, instead of explaining to me the reality of the situation when they knew I was on a time restriction, they continued to lie to me until I had to go. I wish they would have told me from the beginning that there had been a miscommunication, so that I could have made a different appointment instead of wasting an hour.  I'm very disappointed with how things were handled this morning- and unfortunately despite Dr. Rebecca's expertise I will not be returning. read more

Dr. is a butcher - does not take his time and I question if he is really using " botox" the first time it didn't even last 1 month. the 2nd time he was so rough he bruised my forehead for 2 weeks, he said it was normal. the 3rd and final time, I looked like i was punched in the forehead - it going on 2 weeks and I am still black and blue. tried his fillers around mouth, NO DIFFERENCE, did not work. (just left me black and blue) I have since then gone elsewhere. I got 2 other opinions and both Dr's said this was NOT NORMAL. read more

His staff tries their best but Dr. Raoof doesn't care about his patients, is impersonal, and rude. when my pharmacists tried to get in contact he did not reply despite me NEEDING my prescription. The note he wrote me to take the pharmacy was not legible and I've been waiting for two days. He didn't listen to me, didn't offer much expertise besides his diagnosis (that took 4 minutes) and then wrote down four different things that I could troubleshoot. I've already been trouble shooting. Paying him for a specialty service was useless I could have gone to a primary care doc. Update just went to my pharmacist and was told dr raoof was yelling at her over the phone. So unprofessional. read more

I came to Raoof MD for a consult on a few skin concerns from the sun, and I was blown away by the phenomenal staff at this office. They were extremely friendly and welcoming. I was very impressed by the nurse practitioner, Rebecca. She is very knowledgeable, and up to date with the latest treatment options. I have sensitive skin and she gave me new creams to try. She answered all my questions and instructed me on how to avoid future occurrences. I'm writing this from an empty exam room, nearly an hour after my scheduled appointment. I booked a follow-up through ZocDoc, and wasn't worried because I had also used it to book my initial appointment with Dr. Raoof, which had gone well. They mentioned issues with my insurance, and I provided them with all of my information (again), and mentioned that there had been no issue at my first appointment. I was here at 3:30, and at 4pm a woman walked in for a 4:15 appointment. I was taken back at 4:15, and she came back right after I was. It's now 4:30pm, an hour after my scheduled appointment, and I have not yet seen a doctor. The women at the front desk were polite but not very helpful at all, and I don't really have any available time to reschedule (nor do I have a desire at this point). Like I said, my first appointment was fine, if not on the short side, but this is absurd. I booked last week and was not informed of any scheduling problems. The only upshot is that my current insurance is a PPO and I can self-direct to another doctor. I definitely won't be re-booking here in the future. Pro tip: if you absolutely have to visit this office, find a metered parking spot on the street. The parking structure for this building charges an arm and a leg, and there is no validation of any kind. read more

he misdiagnosed me, i had a rash on my neck that he told me was fungal. turned out it was eczema, the most common dermatological condition yet he couldn't even figure that out. by far the incompetent doctor i have ever experienced. i waited 30 min to see him and he spent 3 min with me. i had so many questions that he didnt answer and cut me off and simply told me to talk to the women at the front for a cleanser, toner, moisterizer, sunblock, bar of soap and acne cream. when i got to the front a women put 10 bottles of shit i didnt need in front of me with labels that said "dr raoof". she asked me to pay her over $250 for these products. such a scam. dont trust this guy. he also insulted me and was extremely unprofessional. any positive review on here is probably a relative or something. beware, he just trying to get ur money. read more

I came to Dr. Raoof after a reference from a friend who'd visited him and looked 15 years younger. When I called, I was told to stop in for a free consultation; not with a doctor, but with the woman on the phone--not a person with a medical or nursing license. Okaaaayyy... I was on edge but decided to give it a shot. When I arrived, I stood at the reception desk a good 8 minutes before I was acknowledged by the woman scarfing down her lunch and making reminder calls to other patients. Finally she sees me and the long line forming and points me to a room for my consultation (no medical information has been collected at this point). She asks why I'm there and I said I'm concerned about dark spots on my face from acne and I'm considering other preventive skin procedures. Then I said, "In your expert opinion, what do you think I need?" Let's just say if your confidence is lacking in any way, don't ever ask this question. I was lambasted with comments about every wrinkle on my face, the bags under my eyes (don't worry, there's just too much fat there and we can remove that) and that I am too young to be as wrinkled as I am. At this point, I'm like, is this lady for real? So I said, "What are you talking about? I don't even see half the stuff you're saying." And she says to me, "How old do I look to you?" Ummmm... "I don't know. I'm not good at this sort of thing. Maybe 50? 55?" (I was shooting low--I didn't want to offend her and it was clear she'd had TONS of work done.) Her response: "would you believe me if I told you I have 6 grandchildren?" Ummm... I'm not the most tactful person, "Sure! I mean, you could have had kids young and your kids could have had kids young." Then she told me about her daughter who has been getting botox since she was 16 and I was shocked--appalled. I wanted to report her to authorities, but it was neither the time or place. She quoted me on Botox ($450) and Restalyne ($1200) and I said that cost wise, Botox might be better, but it's still too expensive. "Don't worry, we'll give you the discount at $400." Are you excited yet? At this point my head is spinning. I finally sit back down in the waiting room and fill out papers. The only thing motivating me is my friend's positive results. When I've paid and submitted my paperwork, I go back in the treatment room and Dr. Raoof presents himself. Bedside manner is NOT his forte. He asked if I'd taken any aspirin. "No, was I supposed to?" Question ignored. "You need to use retinol and some of our other creams." "I'm not comfortable with retinol. I had a bad reaction when I was younger and I don't want my face peeling." And then he got defensive! "You know, you come to me and I'm a doctor and I'm telling you what you need. You're smart enough to know you need botox, I'm just surprised you don't want to fully take care of your skin." Now I'm offended. "Well, I'll just consult my physician about it before I take it. I'm just note entirely comfortable..." "What does your physician know about my expertise?" "Ummm... with all due respect, I just met you 2 and a half minutes ago." Well, the lovely doctor gave me my injections and I said goodbye. They tried to make all kinds of follow up appointments and one last push for another non-retinol product. This one had hydroquinone as the active ingredient. Didn't buy. When I arrived home, I found out that Dr. Raoof has a record with the California Medical Board (you can look it up and see what his probation was and for what he was sanctioned). I also found out that hydroquinone is banned in the EU and the FDA has warned it cannot be ruled out as causing cancer. Anyway, be aware. read more

I had really bad acne so I was a bit desperate for a fix - - in our first session I dropped $300 of his products most of which I did not need and none of which made any difference (after 1 year, I was finally prescribed acutane which cured my acne). This doctor is not a dermatologist and he advertises as one. His license was almost cancelled because one of his patients almost died because of his carelessness. I went there and he told me I had a skin disease I did not have. He gave me a cream that made me look bad for 3 weeks since it made the spots look much worse.. This office is honestly a nightmare, and I put up with them long enough because I thought Dr. Raoof was a decent enough doctor I could handle the hassle. Then he didn't even know what a condition I had was, and I gave up. On the office: the ladies here are all very friendly and kind, but I often question if they know what they're doing. Every visit was an arbitrary charge amount. There always seemed to be confusion on my insurance, and what I was paying. Later on I received bills when my insurance would show what went to my deductible. After paying I looked into it, turned out they overcharged and owed me money. The billing department is a sham. They've only given part of the refund I'm owed, because apparently math and statements are hard for them. And it's a nightmare to get ahold of them. I get the medical billing system is a tough one, but I didn't think it was this hard to understand. I've had other offices do this to me, but they were quick to handle it: efficient and correct. This place? Not so much. Get a better biller PLEASE. On the Doctor: my first visit I'd been dealing with a nasty sinus infection, and after two other doctors/practitioners (a minute clinic and a doc in Beverly Hills) couldn't resolve it, I turned to Dr. Raoof. He got me a z-pack right away and I was great in two days after months of suffering. I also had a mole removed under his care, and this went rather smoothly. But then I came in to renew a birth control script from my previous doc, and then I got fed up. I explained my last doc had determined I was suffering from vaginismus, and I could not complete a pap smear. Every doc I've ever seen has tried but ultimately waived it, as I'm not active, have all my shots, and am gay. They've also all been women, and so apparently understood the female body better. He demanded a pap smear before writing me a script, had never heard of vaginismus, and basically stopped listening to me. "If you're gay why you need birth control?" Are you a real doctor? Seriously? AND a dermatologist? I was shocked and appalled. I'm never going back, got my birth control for a year from planned parenthood with no exam and no hassle, and I'm not done dealing with this office until I'm fully refunded. Get another doctor, don't bother with this mess. Two stars for the z-pack and mole. That's it. read more

Let's be real, no one wants to talk about their excessive facial hair so maybe some others are more sensitive when hearing the truth about their "imperfections". I have been going to Dr. Raoof for a few years now and I am always pleased with my experience. I live on the other side of town and have gone to dermatologists in my area but none are as good as him - he is professional, cares about his patients and takes the time to listen to all of your concerns. I've also had his daughter treat me once for a skin concern and my experience with her was exceptional as well. If I'm getting microdermabrasion I go to Irina, she does a great job and really takes her time, my skin always looks flawless right after and my makeup applies more nicely too. As for the front desk, Zhilla is a lovely lady but I think there are some new girls working there since my last appointment and they are just okay, to put it mildly. read more

Started using Raoof MD products a few months ago. Recently turned 33 and have begun to notice sun spots, fine lines and dull skin. Was also not happy with my current sunblock, as it made my skin white and greasy. Was referred to this skincare line from a friend. I decided to give it a try. Purchased their Vitamin CE Serum and their Tinted SPF. After a few weeks of using the Serum (I use it 1x/day in the AM), I noticed my skin starting to brighten up and my sun spots starting to diminish. It gives a nice glow complexion to the skin and I like that it boots the effectiveness of my SPF. The tinted SPF I also really like. Goes on smoothly and creates a nice primer for my foundation. I visited Raoof MD and met with Rebecca to asses different options to treat my skin that has been scarred from a series of hormonal breakouts. Rebecca is extremely knowledgable, and presented various options, the pros and cons of each option, and while giving me her recommendation for treatment, never pressured me into a decision. Photos of my skin were taken with the state-of-the-art Visia imaging machine which gave both a useful and objective assessment of my skin - I loved seeing the different layers of my skin (wrinkles, sun damage, etc!) I received a chemical peel that day, and it was quick, easy and effective! Just as promised, my skin peeled and layers of scaring and pigmentation faded and evened out.
