That location is closed. Two years ago I left my VCR for them to repair and when I spoke with someone over the phone they were rude to me.

horrible apathetic attitude. takes estimate deposit of $70 & quote that they will take that off the top of the service fees. but they fail to mention or list that you only have 90 days to get the money or they just take the deposit and keep it. so if u aren't prepared to pay whatever jacked up price they're charging, you're getting scammed out of $70. They said that they were going to have to charge $79 the new fee for the repair man to come back and complete the repairs, that I already have a written quote for. Unbelievable!!!! read more

The fan on my Big Green Egg BBQ Guru DigiQ DX2 stopped working, & I have 13 guests coming on Mother's Day this weekend expecting slow smoked, pulled pork, and I don't want to stay up all night watching the fire - I need the BBQ Guru to work! A brand new DX2 unit is $400, which I did not want to spend, and the very helpful BBQ Guru customer service rep unfortunately could not overnight a new $40 fan unit to me on Saturday. I then found Rapid Electronics through Google, called the shop, and Al did not hesitate to ask me to come right over. I have a big ole rear projection TV (although bigger is not *necessarily* better, I have not had any complaints... anyway...). One day while watching my brand new Batman Returns DVD, the colors abruptly went strange... Joker strange... the blues seemed to disappear just leaving red with a little bit of ghosting. Eventually, no picture at all. ugh. I mean, major "ugh". I basically knew what went wrong but hoped against it. I did some research on the net which confirmed my suspicions: the convergence controllers had fried themselves. According to message board posts, it seemed a common problem but the repair could range from $300 to $700. ugh. I mean, major "ugh". I called a few repair shops most of which stated that they could make an appointment for a few days later. It seems that it is customary for a fee for a service call which can be applied to the cost of repair. Rapid Electronics had immediate availability however and suggested repair at the lower end of the price spectrum. So, I pulled the trigger and tried them out and arranged a service call over my lunch break (albeit a long one). The technician arrived timely and was very professional. He seemed very familiar with the problem and did indeed quote a price on the very low end of the cost spectrum. (about $300 for my 51" Hitachi). After just over an hour, my TV breathed life once again. I was relieved. Now, after three months, everything still seems great. So, Rapid Electronics has earned my trust. They will be the first I turn to for any other problems (god forbid....). read more

I unfortunately have a very expensive JVC 3-D projector that stopped working. JVC said there were only two facilities in the US that could repair it: Chicago and Houston. I looked all over ATL for someone that would even attempt to work on it. RER was the only one I found. For half of what it would cost me to ship it - they diagnosed the problem and for a fraction of what it would cost me to have the authorized service center repair it RER had it back to me in a week. I would not recommend. You have to constantly contact them for updates on your television repairs and there seems to be no sense of urgency which is probably why it appears more like a TV pawn shop rather than an actual repair shop. read more

I went to this business hoping that I would find someone who was open to looking at an older-model, heavy duty paper shredder that would not power up. Only cheap, inferior shredders are on the market now and this was a damaged shredder (plastic housing cracked in multiple places) that appeared to be mechanically sound that had actually never been able to power up. After calling a few electronics repair shops who had zero interest, I brought the shredder to Al, who I believe owns the business. This is not the type of electronics that they advertise to repair but he must of been intrigued because he was willing to check it out, and his rate to do so was extremely reasonable. He gets 5 stars just for being so nice and willing to work on something outside his wheelhouse. I am really hoping he solves the mystery of why it won't power up. UPDATE: They FIXED it. I absolutely couldn't be more pleased. The rate they charged me was surprisingly cheaper than I anticipated and the the turn around was only a few days. I am a very happy customer. read more

I'd have to give them a zero. After three months in the shop, they finally called and said they could not repair my VCR. This, after I began to voice my frustration. It's one thing to not have the part, but another thing to hold the VCR for three months. That's right, three months. VCR repair shops are few and far between, so you might have to take a chance on these guys, but my advice: don't bother. There is nothing "rapid" and there is nothing "repair" about them. I called Rapid Electronic out to repair my refrigerator, and they sent out a repair person named Mike who had no clue on refrigerator. He looked at it for 15 or 20 minutes turned it off and on and said it was working fine and he would have to come back tomorrow to check the Freon. It was apparent he was completely over his head but he insisted on $58 before he would leave. I am very disappointed with his service and if you have refrigerator repairs Do Not Call this company. They may be good at other things but they have no clue on refrigerators. read more

Actually I would give them zero. Just read a below review and unfortunately victim to the same scam. Took my tv in., he never called I called...million times...didn't order part for over 2 weeks etc. he has the tv propped up and on when I get there. But can't find my brackets that came with the stand so since there were some on another tv that were similar. I have him on video jacking brackets from another customer tv. We get home put the tv back on stand and it doesn't come on using the remote which does have fresh batteries. We reach underneath to turn on manually And I'll be damned the whole manual control switch is missing. Contacted Police. They are thieves. Come to find out they also have a bunch of different operating names at the same address so don't take anything to repair shop located at 1690 COBB PARKWAY MARIETTA GA RIGHT NEXT TO THE BARBER SHOP. The gentleman working on the television is genuinely a honest worker. BUT! THE OWNER IS NOT! I was told the repair would take 3 days. 20 days later I do not have a tv nor do they have the part to repair it yet. I am forced to file paperwork through the legal system to retrieve my tv. Stolen part I was trying to find the tv repair shop that I had called earlier one day. I didn't realize there are 2 tv repair shops within one mile of each other, and thinking I had found the right place, I brought my plasma tv here (by mistake). It cost me a $50 fee to check in my tv. After a week, I called to check up with them and they quoted me the price of repair, and I approved it. After some time, they called and said my tv was fixed and ready for pickup. Before I was going to take it home I wanted them to plug it in and double check it. They did, but it still had the same problem so they asked me to check back in a couple of days. I called back and they told me that the tv has more problems, and is going to cost even more money. I told them I don't want to pay that price for repairs and asked them to put my tv back together so I could come pick it up. I got my tv and took it down the street to Cobb Electronic Repair which was the place I was looking for at first,but didn't drive far enough North apparently. Frank, the owner, told me the power supply in my tv was missing. I called back to Rapid Electronic and they denied having taken it out and told me to bring my tv back to them. At this point I had serious doubts with Rapid so I left my TV with Frank and asked him to order a new power supply, which is a very, very expensive part. I would not recommend Rapid electronics to anybody, especially if you want to get your tv back with all the parts in it. read more
