I brought my boat into the Shakopee facility to have a Ultrex, Mega 360, Mega Live, 2 lithium batteries, hooked up, and an electrical issue repaired. I gave them a detailed diagram of how I wanted the boat set up. They chose to set it up how they wanted rather than how I wanted it. I was lied to / conned by the maintenance manager. He said I couldn't hook both Mega's to the Solix. I ended up getting $1800 worth of equipment that I didn't need. I had to bring the boat back twice and the Mega's still don't work. Additionally, the work was sloppy. They did not run wire bundles through the wire cannels. They instead attached them to the outside. My boat looks terrible. I was met with arguments and a bad attitude because they screwed up. I paid $196 per hour for substandard work. They don't even respond to emails about the terrible work they performed or try to reconcile it. So far, only the trolling motor works (independent from the One boat Network). I have to bring my boat to another boat repair shop. I need to know the extend of their errored work and have someone else fix their mistakes. I will submit an updated post once the other maintenance folks tell me what else they did wrong. If you value your boat, time, and money, have your boat needs fulfilled elsewhere. read more

A year ago I wrote a check for 60 K to Rapid Marine for a brand new bass boat. I've had the boat in twice for motor issues. The first time was the fuel hose coming disconnected due to the manufacturer not attaching it correctly. Cut my vacation short because of that. Now with 30 hours on the motor the engine is alarming. Call Rapid Marine to see if we can figure it out? All you get is just bring it in. So I did. When I pick it up they bill me for it even though the Motor is still on warranty. They said the alarm was due to sand and weeds clogging the cooling system. They proceeded to explain to me how I shouldn't be running the motor in sand and weeds. I've been running boats and motors for 40 years in sand and weeds and never has this happened. Regardless, would Rapid Marine maybe show a little love to a customer and cover it under warranty instead of trying to gouge them? You already know the answer to this. If it was a different dealer, would they have done the same thing? I can't answer that. But I can tell you that Rapid Marine is not showing its customers the love. read more

I was in the market to buy a new boat. I narrowed it down to two dealerships. I received pricing from both dealers. The other dealerships purchase order was very easy to understand. Rapid Marine's invoice was very jumbled and I was a little confused. I had met the sales person, Harlan Perron when I stoped in to see the boat. So when I went back home to think about it for a couple days. I called him a few days later to ask questions about the sales order. He was rude and condescending and made me feel like I was an idiot because I didn't understand something about the pricing. As he was being rude to me on the phone I said "Well my decision I guess is a little easier now. I have another dealer that is $700 cheaper. So, I'll be going with them." His response back "Oh well not a big deal I could have match that price though." So selling a $30,000 boat to him is not a big deal? I would recommend not talking to him. If you stop in there looking for only a $30,000 boat. Well this idiot, in his eyes, just purchased the same boat somewhere else... for $700 cheaper. I have no opinion on any of their other employees as Harlon Perron was the only one I was unfortunate enough to deal with. read more

Went to ask a question about my $50,000 boat and the 2 parts guys gave me a deer in the headlight look. Would not walk over to a similar model and go over my concern. My only option was load it and bring it back. Furthermore, the only reason I went in to the store was because they did not return my calls! Never seen that much lazy at one parts counter. I was looking for a new Glastron last winter and this is the local dealer of record so I purchased it from them. They "sold" the boat I bought at the boat show, then ordered another which was to show up in April, but showed up on February? I guess early is better than late but geez, doesn't build my confidence. Then, I had a part that couldn't cost more than $10 fail within warranty. I called the parts counter. Took him a long time to see if they had one (they do) but said I need to come in a fill out a bunch of warranty paperwork and they wouldn't mail the part because that "comes out of our pocket." No kidding. I owned and operated a successful manufacturing company for over 20 years and shipped product all over the globe. I know it's difficult to find good and motivated people currently, but these folks wouldn't have made it at my company. Very short-sighted. read more
