All I needed was the old dishwasher taken out, and the new one installed, and a new sink faucet installed. When I asked him what he had come up with, he responded $600 or maybe $700. Might take him 4 or 5 hours. I called Joe ( I guess the boss) and said it was just a ballpark figure and they needed half down before the work was done. Joe talked 90 mph, talked over me, kept interrupting me even after I suggested he not interrupt me. I was about to tell him to cancel the job when Joe said he was going to tell James to move on..I told him that was a great idea. End of Walter Plumbing for me or any of mine. Online one can find clear instructions on installing a dishwasher---really relatively simple---should take less than an hour. From his behavior I would guess that he is not too sure on how to do the job, or it is possible that he was just running up the clock.

Get Uncle Sam to pay for it that's all I care about.

I own a property in LaGrande that had a pipe break and it is leaking everywhere. I'm personally out of town and can't take care of it. He said he will run right over there and get the water shut off so no further damage will happen until he can get in there to actually fix the issue in the morning. If things don't run as smooth tomorrow, I will update my post, but for now, I am very happy!

A receptionist who answers the phone and gives you attitude? Plumbers arrive but aren't willing to…read morego in and do the dirty work so they leave w/o saying "we don't want to do the work"??? Not sure how a company like this stays alive... Not a company I would recommend in any case. Look down the alphabet to W and you'll find better service.

Needed a cracked pipe at street repaired. John said we needed a new pipe all the way to the home…read more(that is still in question as far as two other plumbers that were consulted), and contracted to have that done based on John's word. John then advised me he would recommend that we put in frost free valves. John never said it is optional, might be nice etc. He made it sound like we needed these "valves". Turns out they were water spickets, adding to cost and not needed as he could plainly see w already had two spickets coming out of the ground in other areas. He charged us for rental of excavator to dig the needed trench at over $1,100. I searched out and contacted rental company & they showed me the invoice to John for $511 and change. The trench he dug was very wide and did not need to be. He left a huge dirt mound and rocks from home to street, and oh yes, told me when I asked him to finish the job, that the cost does not cover any more than filling in the trench. My husband, who is a heavy equipment operator himself, got home from big job out of state and spent 6 hours fixing the mess. John tries to say that he saved us as we needed the water on and he got there quickly (it is a rental income property), and he did get there quickly. He also thought we lived in Delaware, as my cell area code is still a Delaware number. As we discussed his lack of proper work it came up and I said no, we live in Idaho a couple of hours away. The call went silent, you could almost hear the gasp. We are taking legal action. Thank goodness we only paid 50% deposit, but this guy is to be watched. We only hope that the underground work is what it is supposed to be. Note, this home is in a very, very small town. I had few choices in choosing a plumber, and in my opinion, John plays that for all it is worth.
