The Doctor is OK, not much communications and never really look you in the eyes, always seem to be in a hurry but gives me my referral and prescriptions. The problems I have is with the front desk personnel who need a lot more training, be a little more friendly, never smiled.The phone lines are always busy...sometimes I have to call up 10 or more times b4 they pick up the phone, sometimes 2 times. I think they need more help. I need help with an out of network appt and I went thru hell and back with the wrong information between sutter and this office, they could send you to the mental hospital. The energy in their voices are like non-existent, no clear English speaking voice, no understanding of what they say and clearly, I am given the wrong information. The Right hand do not know what the Left hand is doing and the patient suffers. We keep the office open by giving them our business and have to struggle just to get seen by a specialist. Every time I went into see her she only spent 5 minutes with me! She was always rude & yelled at me, a senior no less, for no reason at all. I was deathly ill from riding on the very filthy germ filled Amtrak train last June & I went in to get a diagnosis from Rashida Bohkari & she refused to look in my throat, and I had to ask her to look in my ears ..she did not give me a covid test, she was so nasty , angry & impatient & never kind & very incompetent! but she had the nerve to give me 5 prescriptions, because they get financial kickbacks from every prescription they give out , not even knowing what I was suffering from & not even knowing my medical history ... Worst doc I've ever had. Seems really burned out or something. I don't get the feeling she actually cares at all. Also, neither she, nor her staff, seem to ever smile and they are not very friendly on the phone. They never check their patient portal -- a very important form of communication, in my opinion -- and I have waited months for answers or Rx renewals that never came. It also took about 4 months for my doctor referrals to go through, which was not resolved until a nice person in my insurance service spent a lot of time,. calling around trying to resolve it and found out the fax number the doctor was using wasn't even correct. And they didn't even know it!! NO follow-through when the referrals didn't come together. Nothing!! If you want good service, go somewhere else. I am a nurse practitioner. I work with many medical providers on an ongoing basis. My experiences with Dr. Bokhari on a personal level have helped shape my own practice in the way I DON'T want to treat my patients. Short form of the story, I was diagnosed with cancer after I made her order an ultrasound for me when I found a lump. When she called me with the report, she immediately told me "Suspicious for malignant neoplasm until proven otherwise." She didn't ask me what I was doing before she told me, otherwise I would have let her know that I was driving down the freeway in storming weather. She referred me to an awful surgeon. The pathology report said cancer. She was copied on the report. He referred me to an oncologist after I did all the research and footwork. That doctor started me on chemotherapy. I have NEVER heard from her since she referred me to the surgeon. If I had a patient who just went through surgery and was diagnosed with cancer, I'd call to check in on them. Needless to say, I took my healthcare elsewhere and have been cancer-free for the past 6 years. read more

Have been a patient for several years. I have even referred SEVERAL close friends because she was located in our area. We all experienced the SAME horrible treatment from her. First be prepared for a quick visit for less than 5 mins. If being seen for pain in your leg due to injury, she blames your weight, runs several types of test for heart disease, diabetes, etc, prescibes you weight pills and blood pressure pills or antidepressants to perfecfly healthy people, then sends out multiple bills that the insurance provider already paid her in full for. In the end, you later find it was a dislocated bone or tumor. I have had incidents where the paramedics told me to go to the doctor ASAP. She's the last person I want to see. I run from her! I could have a knife in my arm and she's treating me for a heart attack! My friends and I avoid going to her because she does the same to ALL of us and we're all getting new doctors. She's never been rude to me, like these others have complained about, nor rushed me through my appointment. However, I feel my complaint is much worse. TWICE, within the span of two years she neglected to give me test results that were very important until 5 months after the test. The only reason I even got the results (for both tests) is because I came into her office for completely unrelated reasons. Both times a nurse said "oh, did we let you know that this test you took 5 months ago said this and this?" And, NO, they had not. After the first test result, which was fairly serious, she referred me to a horrible OB for a biopsy - and he was a complete jerk and not empathetic in any way. The office staff are never pleasant, other than one gal who doesn't even work at the front counter. They seem to have a camaraderie among each other, but it shuts down when a patient signs in. I don't need a hug when I check in for my doctor appointment and pay my co-pay for Pete sake. But how about a smile? Something more than icy voice I'm always greeted with as if I'm checking into a morgue. I've found a new doctor where the environment where the environment is much cheerier and positive. My advice if Dr. Bokhari is your doctor, stay on top of your test results. I came from Kaiser before this - if you didn't get a call, you were fine. Dr. Bokhari has been my doctor for more than 12 years and I have been extremely happy with her and the entire staff. The wait time is more than reasonable and usually very short. She has always given me very good advice to help me stay healthy. I am close to 80 years old and I am still able to ride my bike with a group of younger riders. I can't believe how many poor reviews there are for Dr. Bokhari. Very different from my experience. I've been seeing Dr. Bokhari since 2007 and she's been a fantastic physician. She is serious and professional, but has always been friendly and willing to listen. As a fat guy, most physicians will just lecture me about my weight and aren't always on the lookout for other non-weight related problems. Dr. Bokhari tells me to lose weight too (which makes her a good physician), but she also looks at alternative diagnoses. I appreciate her thoroughness and willingness/ability to do more than the minimum diagnostic approach. Great doctor. Recommended. read more

Dr. Nokhari was my practitioner for quite a few years. Several years ago I left some messages for her and she never returned my calls. I evaluated her on line, she read the review and called me very apologetic. The problem had been that her staff had never given her the messages. I never returned to her practice. Yesterday around 3:00 p.m. I called her office thinking perhaps I'd like to make an appointment with her because I thought she was a very good doctor. I was told they don't let patients that have left the practice come back. I said if you tell her who I am I believe she will accept me as a patient. I was told the receptionist would speak to either her or someone else and call me right back. It's been over 24 hours and I've received no phone call. She has some very serious staffing issues. She's a very good doctor but her staff is dreadful. Apparently she has so many patients she doesn't need people that have perhaps moved or changed their mind about other practitioners; she doesn't need us to return. I wish her every success but her staff is not helping her. Obviously, even if they told me I could return, at this point there is not a chance. read more

Many people use the internet to get reviews of doctors. It was important to me to add this comment to Dr. Bokharis'. She is a no nonsense let's get you better doctor. I was running a fever and just feeling horrible. ENT Specialist could not get me in until 10/17. I walked into her office and she had just finished for the day. She took the time to see me and prescribe me antibiotics. Every time I have seen her she immediately wants to get to the root cause of the issue with referrals and tests. Dr. Bokhari is a great physician who listens and refers you to specialist when she knows it's best. I battled many years of an illness and my previous Dr. La* was inadequate. By the way, I've always been my own advocate but with Dr. La* no success. A friend referred me to Dr. Bokhari who said she is thorough and a good listener. I read reviews.....someone complained about not receiving test results. Remember that everyone needs to be their own advocate. Physicians have a high volume of patients and test results to read. If it is pertinent to you, be your own advocate. If a physician calls me, I take it as a courtesy call and great follow-up but I don't wait on a call. Just saying...... Also, I read reviews stating she is rude. I have never had that encounter with her and I do believe differences in culture some people may misjudge a person??? I have been a patient of Dr. Roshida Bokhari's for approx. 10+ years. I go every one to two years for a physical exam. The physical exam would include breast exam, feel my neck and throat for anything not normal, look into my eyes, and look into my ears, pelvic exam, ordering blood work, B/P. I had an appointment on Friday, June 13 w/ Dr. Bokhari for a physical exam. When the doctor's assistant checked my vitals, I told her, "In addition to the physical exam I need the doctor to flush the ear wax out of my ears (which she has done on several occasions), check out a toe fungus and that I wanted to discuss gender reassignment." The doctors assistant didn't want to note on my chart that I wanted to discuss gender reassignment. I asked that she please include it because I wanted it referenced in my file as I am considering gender reassignment. When Dr. Bokahari entered the exam room and read what the assistant had written as my reasons for seeing her, she asked me what gender reassignment was. I was a bit taken aback and asked, "You don't know what gender reassignment is?" The doctor's response was, "No." When I explained to her that I was considering changing my gender from female to male, she looked at me with disdain as if I were from another planet. Not once during my physical exam did she touch me. She referred me out to an ear specialist, referred me to have a mammogram, she referred me to a podiatrist and ordered blood work. That was it! Not once did she lay her hands on me during the entire physical exam. It was obvious she negatively passed judgment against transgenders. That is discrimination. First off, I just wanna say thank God for Yelp! Because if you really wanna find out anything about any business, Yelp is the best platform to come to, because how you feel can't be altered because businesses don't like what you have to say about them. Anyway I was looking for a new PCP because I don't have Kaiser anymore. So my husband was looking for doctors for us. And he found this doctor. But I hadn't chosen one yet. Anyway after a while he said he was going to find a different doctor, because he had gone in because he thought he might have a kidney stone. He's had em before, so he knows his body pretty well. Anyway when he went in to this doctors office, he said he had barely started explaining to her what was going on when she blurted out "you're in kidney failure! You need to get to the emergency room right away"! Well guess what? He had kidney stone. Okay so fast forward to when I finally decided to finally choose a doctor. I knew I wanted a woman. I knew I wanted her to be close to our home. So going thru the long list, I chose this "doctor". And my husband said "that name sounds like that lady doctor told me I was in kidney failure". That really bothered me. So I have been hesitant to make my initial appointment. But I know I need to see a doctor just because I haven't been for a while, and I need to get my mammogram. And then I remembered, I have Yelp. So as soon as I put in her name, the first thing I saw was that she was consistently given 1 star! (Well two people gave her 5 stars, but I just figured they didn't know any better, or didn't want to offend her. But 14 out of 16 reviews were 1 star reviews. So I started reading the reviews, and Oh My God! I was horrified! These reviews confirmed why I was so hesitant to make an appointment with her. I am in the process of looking for a new doctor. My gut told me something wasn't right about this doctor. And it was right! Thanks everyone for you input. I really appreciate it! Tried to make an appointment on a Tuesday after being sick for two weeks - her staff could not get me in till the following Monday! What good is a doctor if you can't get in to see her when your sick??!! Never had this problem with her office before - they always seemed able to fit you in - I guess no longer. My husband and daughter never cared for her, but I kept going to her because her office is very close to my home. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. First of all, she is rude and doesn't look you in the eyes when speaking to you. She seems rushed and it seems like she does not care about you as a patient. I went in with digestive problems and she sent me to get blood drawn, she then told me I had liver problems and that I needed to get X-rays which I am getting a second opinion on simply for the fact that they sent me to a hospital that doesn't accept my insurance. I called my insurance and they had to call the doctors office to let them know..it seems strange. I'm getting my blood results from them and I'm currently searching for another doctor because my gut feeling is telling me not to trust her. On top of that when I first went in for my physical and she asked me if I was scared, I told her I have anxiety and she chuckled. That made me feel humiliated. This was my experience, my coworker had her as well and also had nothing good to say about her. I have not been impressed with this office nor the care of my mother as her patient. I have called them and left detailed messages for the doctor to contact me with regard to my mother's health issues. My mother is a diabetic, has had numerous falls (again today), a stroke, and the doctor cannot come up with a reasonable plan for her care. I hold a durable power of attorney for medical and I should be included in my mother's health decisions. This doctor is horrible; don't waste your time seeing her because she does not care about her patients. This so-called doctor should look into another profession because clearly this is not the job for her. I am seriously concerned that my mother will die soon due to the poor care that she has received by this doctor and her office. read more

The Front staff are awful! I requested a refill and the pharmacy still has not rec'ed it after 5 days. I called twice, pharmacy has called twice. You can not get a hold of this dr. unless you go and see her in person. I have med's I depend on and had to visit an Urgent Care to get the Rx's and breathing treatments. She is one of the best doctors I have been to. I previously went to another physician and he was unable to diagnose my problem. However, Dr. Bokhari was very attentive and she listened to my issues and was able to diagnose my condition in less than 10 minutes. She does not explain anything she is doing to or for you at all. she has answered her phone while she was in the middle of my visit and then tried to have her MA come in and finish up my appt. I came in for a follow up on my labs and dr didnt even come in the room she passed it onto her MA and didnt even come in the room. I requested my medical records and she input things that I never said, for example, i am not married she says i am, i am a smoker she has im not. One of her MA's got my vitals and somehow got my pulse and resp with no clock and not even touching my wrist and then unput false info in my chart. The worst I have seen so far! read more
