This is a review that I should have written 9 months ago but, better late than never. Caution, this is long! In October of 2019, I spent 10 days in the hospital in Southern California while visiting family. Having just moved to Northern California, I did not have an infections disease doctor and had never had a reason to have one. I was very ill and was very lucky to still be alive. In order to be released from the hospital, I had to have an infectious disease doctor close to home that would accept me as a new patient. This was no easy task and my wife spent 2 full days on the phone trying to secure a doctor. It was beyond measure what she was going through to get a doctor to take me as a patient. The red tape and road blocks that all of the doctors presented, made it look like we were going to have to spend 6 more weeks in Southern California while I completed infusions as an outpatient. This is where Dr. Kailath enters the picture. My wife found her on line and called her office. She was greeted by a welcoming staff that was sensitive to the situation and for the first time, we had a front office staff that had a can do attitude. After many phone calls between my wife and the staff, they had everything arranged including the outpatient infusions. In an age where doctors have less and less time for patients and seem to have forgotten why they became doctors to begin with, Dr. Kailath is the exception. From my first visit, it was clear that we had found the right doctor! She saved my life! She is a true professional and her knowledge is second to none. Her caring attitude and understanding for what I was going through, made my road to recovery smooth. To say I was in good hands is a huge understatement. She was everything you could ask for in a doctor! If you are reading this then, you are in need of this kind of specialist. Well, look no further! If you want unprofessional, rude and argumentative, go here. I walked out. Doctors need to remember, you're making a choice as to whether or not to work with them too. During my initial meeting it was very obvious this was not the office for me. Combative, literally telling me what I was telling her was not true. I'll continue to look for an office that treats their patients with respect and professionalism....not this place. read more

I recently had the misfortune of developing a bone infection.. Dr. Kailath has been treating my for nearly 2 mos. now and has been on top of every aspect of my treatment.. I've never seen any doctors office, including not only Dr. Kailath herself, but her entire staff as well, being so concerned about her patient & following up all the time. I feel so blessed to have her as my treating physician.. If u call the office, u actually get a REAL PERSON to answer, not having to press lots of numbers on keypad to speak with someone AND ultimately having to leave a MESSAGE.. It's like stepping back in time.. BOTTOM LINE: Dr. Kailath is awesome!!! BTW.. When my insurace would not cover the medication I very much needed, Dr. Kailath gave it to me from her limited inventory of samples.. Not many physicians care that much about their patients.. She REALLY cares about us.. God love u Dr. Kailath!!!! read more

I have an active wound on my heel (since 4/18) that became infected. I was referred to Dr Kailith & saw her 1/10/19. She did not shake my hand, her staff failed to send me the required paperwork ahead of the appointment, I had several pages to fill out & was unable to complete them. I was sent to a room, she came in & I had to bring my own bandages & wraps. Dr Kailith was with me for less than 15 minutes. She did not discuss my current meds or any of the antibiotics I am allergic to, of which there are many. I found her to be discourteous. She then took a topical swab. Her office never told me the name of the bacteria. I was called by one infusion center & I was told I would have a pique line installed for med 1) Vancomycin & 2) Cefepime. Dr Kailith NEVER called me to discuss these meds with me. She never called me with the results of the swab taken 1/10/19, today is 1/22/19. I looked up both antibiotics. Vancomycin has to be monitored as it is very strong. The recommendation would be to administer it in a controlled environment. The 2nd antibiotic, Cefepime would have caused me to experience anaphylactic shock or death. It stated clearly that if there has been a previous negative experience with penicillin to not take it, I am allergic to penicillin. I also have Crohn's Disease & Cefepime was not recommended to be taken for that either. It went on to indicate it could also cause death. Still, Dr Kailith never called me with the results of the swab 1/10/19. Because due diligence was not done on her part & she never discussed any of my meds or allergies, had I not looked these antibiotics up, I could have been given an antibiotic that could have caused me to experience anaphylactic shock or death. I had spoken to one of her office staff (not a nurse) who was rude & continually told me how long we were on the phone. I informed her 2 infusion companies had called me & I would not commit due to the lack of involvement of the referring Dr. & lack of discussion about the antibiotics. I spent less than 15 minutes with this Dr. I told her staff member that it was demeaning to me to continually remind me of the time spent on the phone when I had several unanswered questions. She (the office rep) was quite contentious & disagreeable. She refused to give me the name of the bacteria. I received a call from my regular Dr & I was told that Dr Kailith would no longer be seeing me. It's likely her staff rep gave untrue info as I was very professional & courteous. I have been dropped by this Dr in the middle of an "active" infection in which there is a possibility of loosing my leg or life. I find this to be a very capricious & arbitrary action by a Dr, not to mention unprofessional response. I do not even want to give "one" star to this person. She is unfriendly, inept & made no effort to discuss my meds or allergies, she did not review my file with me, nor did she ask me any questions. Her lack of "due diligence" could have caused serious issues for me had I not researched the antibiotics on my own. I would never recommend her to anyone for any reason. She wanted my weight & the scale was in another room already occupied by a partially dressed patient (a man) & I apologized to him profusely. If complications occur to me due to her lack of attentiveness to my infection, I will have no choice but to escalate the issue. I am now in a position to seek another specialist. This has been a very disgusting experience. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Kailath's for many many years now. I trust her completely and would not even consider switching doctors. She is wonderful at returning phone calls personally, sometimes even late at night. She is extremely thorough, proactive, and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this office. read more

She's cares about her patients I'd recommend her.She looks out for your health. Her Staff is great too Molly is the best she greets u by name & very respectful,everyone. this doctor is terrible she treated my father like shit! hes terminal so she didnt want to be bothered by him.she would not prescribe the medications he needed when asked to do so. she would not return phone calls, she charged a fee to pick up prescriptions!!! her demeanor and bedside manner are atrocious. everytime we went to her office she had no patients. now we know why..shes losing them daily! avoid this person!! read more
