Been coming here since I was kid! It's still the local go to spot for a properly made raspado in just about every form you can think of. The ice is perfectly shaved, flavors taste real not artificial, and the portions have gotten bigger which is pretty solid. This was our go to place for breakfast. The drive thru line is incredibly slow so we usually call in an order but, they run their walk up window the same way they do the drive thru, someone orders and stands there until the order is filled and handed to the customer. The food quality has been so so and the wait time has certainly left a sour taste in our mouth before we even eat. Unfortunately, 2 months ago when I went there, there were fraudulent charges on my card and the only place I had used my card was at Ruben's. Luckily I was contacted by my bank and it was taken care of immediately. Yesterday, I went to Ruben's and this am at 0500, I received a call from my bank regarding fraudulent charges on my card again. No longer a coincidence. Has anyone had this same issue? Came out here with a friend and decided to stop by this place on the way back home to SD. So glad we did. The ciruela (plum) raspados was delicious and refreshing. It had additional plums at the bottom of the cup so that was a nice surprise. We asked if they could add chile to the rim and they did. Balanced the sweetness with a little kick. I recommend you get a L/XL on a hot summer day. The staff was also helpful and friendly. If I am ever in town, I will definitely stop by again. read more

Although the food and raspados are good, the amount of time it takes them to do anything is ridiculous. Expect to be there at least 30 minutes waiting for your stuff. Well this place is usually a 5 star. Customer service is usually great. However, during this pandemic I Know we all take our own risks eating out and what not. We think and expect employees are being extra careful that was not the case here. What I saw yesterday was ridiculously disgusting and no regards for anyones safety. Everyone in there had their nose uncovered.Some were even taking breathing breaks without their masks. The worst was a girl with blue hair that was preparing someone's order, take her mask off,stick her finger in her mouth and continue to prepare the food she was preparing!!! I've only had a few of their food items and everything has been really good. My favorite are the burritos of chicharron con chile and the burritos de machaca. The service is good and fast. Prices are very reasonable. I recently tried their "munchies" and it was really good. It is nacho cheese drenched fries with hot cheetos on top and to top it all off , bacon.
