I say worry as a member of our party has some hard-to- accommodate allergies (gluten, lactose, onion, garlic) naturally, we had looked for about an hour and a half trying to find something - anything that would work. We realized after a while that maybe just a burger patty would be okay because at least it was something... and maybe ask for extra lettuce to use as a bun (if you've been to in-n-out they do this) so we gave this place a try. After speaking to the kind woman to take our order and explaining the allergies, she immediately offered to go a lettuce wrap around the meat... without us needing to ask!! She was so kind and understanding of the allergies and was beyond helpful, going immediately to the cooks in the back to explain the concerns after ordering. Our meal was so delicious. I had their schnitzel as I don't have any allergies and it was incredible. My friend, who does have the allergies, said that it was the best food he's had in a while, quite possibly the best burger he's ever had. He couldn't stop talking about it all day - if you have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend going.

The dishes are clearly inspired by the local cuisine, but taken to the next level, and so it does not surprise that the Guide Michelin awarded this restaurant a star years ago, and the place has never lost it since. The chef trained with Paul Haeberlin and some other famous French masters, and you can immediately see the French influence anywhere in the restaurant (including some of the staff coming from nearby Alsace). Surprisingly, the food is rather on the affordable side considering the quality and the way of preparation, and compared to other Michelin-starred restaurants, you should be able to strike a good deal. I would recommend the set chef's menu which comes in 6 or 7 courses and presents a great overview of the owner's capabilities. Highly recommended !

I was the first customer to be seated, but soon after many other diners came in and filled up the main dining room very quickly. I later realized that there was another dining room as more diners came in and were ushered into the other room. There were 3 soup choices and I chose the noodle soup with beef. For entree I picked a small portion (I.e. 1 piece of meat rather than 2 pieces) of Schnitzel of pork that came with a side dish, and I chose the local home-made noodles. For drink I ordered a small local draft beer. The soup came very quickly and it was a very generous big bowl of soup. My entree came with my choice of sauce and I was very happy with the chunky mushrooms in my mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was quite a big piece of meat so I was glad to have ordered the smaller portion instead of the full portion with 2 pieces of meat. The noodles tasted very good but I could not finish it. The only surprise was that they did not take credit cards so I was glad to have some Euro cash on me. I was happy with the overall experience and a very hearty meal in a very homey setting.

The germans call it Pfanne. Maybe a mix of steaks in the pan, pork cutlets. If you know some german you can bargain for different sauces on your meats, and then go for spaetzle, pommes or a mix is ok with them too. The Familie Bosch team is relaxed so you definitely ask for things and they will do it. It is a big team so ask anyone on the team for help if they are too busy to see your need. Decent wine list, good schnapps for afterward. It was the best real german on our trip through Frankfurt, Baden, and Berlin.
