Great service. Had a great flight with a good variety of options. Loved the naming conventions of the beers and the ambiance of the place.

Bent Paddle Brewing Company is a family-owned and operated craft brewery and taproom in Duluth, Minnesota. The brewery opened in May 2013 and uses Lake Superior water to brew it's beers and hemp beverages. Bent Paddle's mission is to create a unique craft beer experience while also being sustainable for the business, employees, environment, and community. And they deliver on it all. I got a flight to enjoy some of their more limited offerings. Munchin Pretzels: An Oktoberfest beer brewed with traditional German Malts and Hops. I get toasted bread malt character with a bit of sweetness, but rounded out by a hop bitterness. The malt profile is definitely the forefront and I wished I had a pretzel to go with it. Infinity Stuf: An Oatmeal Stout that they went all out with 100 pounds of Oreos. Nutty oatiness, chocolate, and medium fullness. I appreciate it not being a Pastry Stout, but still get lots of Oreo character. A Beer of Their Own: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed in collaboration with a Bar Of Their Own in the Twin Cities. Tropical fruit forward - primarily melon and cantaloupe, with a nice finish. Stratarado: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed with Strata and El Dorado (get the name?). Tropical fruit, pineapple, some sweetness on the tongue. Liked this one a lot. ______

I'm from NJ but a friend from MN recommended this place telling me it's the best beer in the state. I visited on a Saturday in August and it looks like a lot of others agreed because it was absolutely slammed my whole time there. They had three lines at the bar for ordering beer and all three were packed with people all the way to the door. The taplist featured a nice variety of beers including a Märzen, a lime lager, a cream ale, a stout, etc. Almost no two beers were alike. I had a flight and the beers I had were good, but nothing really wowed me. I've been to over a hundred breweries in NJ and I've never seen THC drinks on a taplist, so that was unique for me. They also had a nice variety of hard seltzers and hard slushies, plus a wide variety of NA options including NA beers. So something for everyone here. Overall a nice spot with competently brewed beers that I would return to if I were ever in the area again.

We were yelled at and told to move, even though there were plenty of open tables. Later, the guys went up to the bar to get drinks and were again told to move out of the walkway, despite the bar being busy and us simply trying to order. Then later in the evening, three of us sat at a table while the rest of our group played slots, and we were once again yelled at and told to move. There were over 10 open tables throughout the night, so it's not like we were taking up space that other customers needed. We understand it was busy, but being repeatedly yelled at and told to move when we were not in anyone's way was completely unnecessary. It made the entire experience uncomfortable and left a really bad impression. If making customers feel like an inconvenience is your idea of good hospitality, you might want to rethink who's actually in the way.

Waitress Riley was outstanding -- professional, personable, and our orders were perfect. She was so attentive. Appetizers came out very fast and hot. Burgers (unexpected double patties) and chicken sandwiches were tasty and delicious. Lettuce, onion, tomatoes and mayonnaise was on the side which is a great touch to keep them all crisp and not soggy/wilted. Huge orders of fries. Boneless wings had so many that others ate a few and still had 8 to take home. Super atmosphere and great service.
