You can't miss the big wolf out front...
    Alora M.

We were on a National Park adventure and had just come off the (freezing) boat ride around the Apostle Islands National Seashore. We'd had a nice lunch and just wanted to rest and chill for a while before continuing on to Minnesota. You can't miss the big wolf sculpture out front and when we saw the brewery sign we thought we'd stop in and check it out... so glad we did...! First off, there's an attached bicycle/hiker/camper outfitter right next door. Walk to the back and there's the brewery. After perusing the offerings board, I chose the apfelhaus... a little tart, a hint of sweet, a lot of goodness... a great brew to sip while sitting outside pondering our recent experiences and looking forward to the ones ahead. Staff was friendly and answered all of our brew questions. My only disappointment is they were out of the compass long-sleeved tees which I like to collect on my travels, but I know if I'm ever back in the area we will stop here again if only to taste some of their other offerings and maybe be able to stay awhile and have more than one...

I'm from NJ but a friend from MN recommended this place telling me it's the best beer in the state. I visited on a Saturday in August and it looks like a lot of others agreed because it was absolutely slammed my whole time there. They had three lines at the bar for ordering beer and all three were packed with people all the way to the door. The taplist featured a nice variety of beers including a Märzen, a lime lager, a cream ale, a stout, etc. Almost no two beers were alike. I had a flight and the beers I had were good, but nothing really wowed me. I've been to over a hundred breweries in NJ and I've never seen THC drinks on a taplist, so that was unique for me. They also had a nice variety of hard seltzers and hard slushies, plus a wide variety of NA options including NA beers. So something for everyone here. Overall a nice spot with competently brewed beers that I would return to if I were ever in the area again.

We just made a quick visit, had a couple Castle Danger Cream Ales and were on our way but we will be back this summer to soak up the patio.

My husband did the whitefish Cajun style. I did the whitefish broiled with light salt (hello, DASH diet). My son had the mac n cheese. We were all delighted with a delicious and healthy meal. The wild rice was especially nice as a side. We will back. Thank-you! Being here makes me feel right at home again!

We came specifically for the Friday night Fish Fry, which comes with one side, and they were out of two of them (our first and second choices, unfortunately). I ended up ordering Beer Battered Fish with Rice Pilaf, and the other two at the table ordered Deep Fried Fish with Waffle Fries. It was 8:17 before our order came out - a full 45 minutes after we arrived. The Rice Pilaf was barely warm and flavorless. I only ate one bite of it (1/10) but the fish was excellent (9/10). The fish portion was large - I could only eat half, and took the other half of the fish to go. I left the rice. I asked about dessert to go, and neither of the cheesecakes on the menu were available, but the server said they had some chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, which wasn't listed anywhere. I got that and had a few bites before putting it in the fridge - it was ok, but nothing special (5/10). I'm not sure I'll even finish it, and that's saying something because cheesecake is my favorite dessert. Ambiance was dark and kind of dingy. Things needed to be dusted and wiped down. It felt like there was a sticky layer of grease on them (chairs, columns, table edges, etc.). Would probably go back and give them another shot, but would likely try a weekday when it's not so busy and all menu items are available. Overall 6/10
