One youswoop later, and a bachelorette gift for my lovely lady friend was set up. Julie is very easy to work with with respect to setting up the appointment. We communicated very well over email, and she answered any and all questions (without giving me the "duh, read my website response" because I later realized that I could've figured this info out on my own.) We set up the appointment at a chic hotel downtown, and were ready. Day of shoot, Julie arrived, and got straight to work. She is great at giving directions, which is really important to make you look the very best in your shoot. She also makes you feel completely at ease, again critical when you're running around in your unmentionables (and your friends are shrieking, "MORE SIDE BOOB.") Some notes: -She can accommodate hair/makeup. I recommend either going through her or having this done. It really adds to the experience and sets you off feeling pretty. -Have a trusted girlfriend or three around to make you feel at ease. I think our commentary really relaxed and helped our friend. (Plus, see above...side boob was critical for some of the photos. We were HELPING.) -Champagne doesn't hurt either. -Make your bed. (Or do as we did, have it in a sexy hotel that will make the bed FOR you.) If you have any interest in having this done, I can't recommend it enough. Julie was fantastic to work with and gave such great direction so you don't feel like an idiot as she's putting you in the most flattering poses for your pictures. I had all three of my bridesmaids with me which definitely helped make me extremely comfortable with the session. That, combined with a few mimosas, really relaxed me, especially as my friends were encouraging me that the pics were amazing while at the same time hilariously directing me to show more boob and booty. One of my other bridesmaids treated me to hair and makeup separately, and after seeing the pictures I'm glad I did it, it makes a big difference. If you want a fun experience that will capture some really hot photos of you, that, lets be honest--you will never really have a chance to get unless you're a model and are used to prancing around a bedroom getting pics taken of you in lingerie, then I suggest you use Chicago Doll Photography. We scheduled a shoot for later that month. The shoot was very comfortable and an overall fun experience! Being my first photoshoot, I was instructed on how to pose for the pictures that suited my body type and persona. I was able to see a sneak peek of the photos as we were shooting them. I would not change one thing. We worked with Kieffer and he was professional, calming, and inspiring every single time we met. We were on the fence about an engagement photo session. He recommended it so that we would get used to having someone in our faces with a camera. At first, never having worked with a professional photographer, that maybe it was just a nudge to an upsell. But it was included in the package we selected and it really worked!! My camera-shy wife was so much more comfortable on our wedding day because of it. Green Key came up with the theme for our engagement photos and they turned out so well! We still go back and look at the album. Kieffer also suggested making a photo book of our engagement photos with white space and using it as our guest book. It was such a great idea and everyone loved it! The wedding day was unbelievable. He took care of everything imaginable. There were fun pictures that I didn't even notice him taking, and he captured some moments that I will remember forever. Looking back at our photos helped me recapture some things too, because the day does go by so fast! I wanted some funny face pictures with my young nephews (because we always do them at every holiday) and he was totally up for it! Planning a wedding can be stressful, and the music can be one of the biggest stressor since it sets the mood for the reception. However, Nick's experience and knowledge helped to set us at ease. Nick is very adaptable and can give you as much or as little help as you require. We sat with Nick and we gave him an idea of the type of bands and music that we liked. From there he was able to start to create a playlist that he would use. After he shared the playlist with us, I could tell that he had a pretty good idea of what we like and it was clear he paid attention to what we discussed to create a solid playlist. Next, I worked with him to to give him a few other ideas of some songs/moods we would like to add to enhance what he had already done. The more information you share with him, the better things get. He is excellent at zeroing in on the information you give him to personalize the music to your taste. However, if you wanted to be a little more hands off, there is no doubt he can take care of you too. Like I said, even with a minimal amount of input he was well on his way to creating an awesome playlist that still would have been great. No matter what you want, Nick will be able to work with you to make sure that your reception will reflect you!
