Bathrooms not clean as they should be in a hospital setting. Tiny emergency room. When you arrive to the ER there are guards on the street checking you go into the hospital parking which is $12 an hour, meanwhile there's free parking for emergency room patients. The guard are a bunch of geniuses trying to figure how to let you in. The nurses are hit or miss as far as being good, we had a good one so shout out to Stephanie on the first floor because she was the only one that was golden, the rest dwindle between mediocre to plain done w nursing so their goal is doing the minimum. The doctors were in that same wavelength, the ER doctor was supposed to visit and when he did he wasn't that informative as to what was happening. They did a CT scan and never came back to let us know the results. The day doctor for sure didn't read the chart because was giving us different info, the chief Dr Jerwyn was despondent, condescending and leaves much to be said about bedside manner, she is truly the example of being too smart doesnt equal being right to lead. I dread to think how her staff suffers. No case worker came to give us the whole picture of whats happening so we had to piece together the puzzle. Overall it served its purpose on an emergency but long term care is not recommended.

Dr. Schlofmitz performed a needed angioplasty as a result of my diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure, requiring three stents on February 18th of this year. The results were outstanding, with no need for a defibrillator at this time ( age 74). I unreservedly recommend Dr. Richard Schlofmitz without reservation and feel blessed to have had his expertise!

I got the results back and I'm not a dr so when things come back looking not normal, it worries me. I had to call the office to follow up and left a message but didn't hear back for weeks. weeks! Took my 12 year old to this doctor, the doctor seemed at first to be very confident and…read moreknowledgeable...but of the 5 sessions we had with him, both he and his office were surprised at our (scheduled) arrival at his office..We were seen each time...... but others were either cancelled last minute or made to unexpectedly wait the entire length of our session to be seen.....I was kinda surprised since his fee was kinda expensive $600 first hour and $285 for 20 mins sessions....and he took no insurance...so I expected a business professional....after about 3 months of treatment ...a negative result with the medicine or dosage that Doctor prescribed occurred with my child...a phone call was made to him (he stated this is a problem he had seen before) and an appointment was given 1 week later.....I assigned No blame, medication is tricky..... at this appointment the doctor refused to discuss his treatment plans at any reasonable length.... or the reasons behind the negative results or future plans for treatment, he just cut off all medications and we were to follow his directions (well, we always had)...I agreed to follow all instructions, that is why I was paying him, but....when I nicely...and calmly...pressed to find out any plan or options for the future, the doctor became arrogant and inpatient, as if "how dare I question him"...I apologized and explained I assign no blame and my question were not a sign of my resistance recommendations...I just want and needed information ti insure my child's safety... he suggested If "I" was not satisfied I should go else where...well I explained I was confused by his reaction and that my satisfaction was not the issue, but I needed an explanation or plans for treatment....and additionally I wanted him to confer with the Physiologist my son was seeing.......the doctor got argumentative and stated "The other doctor will do his job and he would do his, there was no reason for their conferral" and I that had increased my sons medication, well I did, as we had previously discussed would be required in next session a few days later....AND spoke to him about it... the next day on the phone, he agreed completely with my assessment, stated the new increase would take about a week to take effect and then....few days later even increased the medication officially to this level permanently and told me to keep old medication so we could "tweet" the dose if necessary...The conferral was eventually agreed to when he was challenged on it, but his mindset was upsetting... In 46 years I have never had any such issues, with any other doctors..I am not sure if the doctor felt he had made an error and was at civil risk (which he was not) or his personality did not allow him to explain to a mere mortal, what he was thinking or maybe his cat died earlier in the day...I have NO idea..BUT I informed him, that previously I had been satisfied, but apparently he was not.....and for this reason I removed my child from his practice...I DO NOT RECOMMENDED HIM..SAD to say..He recommend 5 times during my respectful business like...attempt for information that ..I take my previously suicidal child, who was having MAJOR safety and impulse issues due to his prescribed treatment and... go elsewhere, because of his pride !!!..I had such high hopes and desire for desperately need help !!

There were only 4 people in the waiting area. Only 1 couple wore masks. They all seemed fine to us. The receptionist kept asking us to make an online appointment, which is 7/8 hours later. When my daughter told her that she is having fever and coughing with blood for a day or two, she still insisted we made appointment online, because they were busy, appointments were lined up for 15 minutes apart. I totally understood that Urgent Care must be very busy, especially at this time of the year. However, what is the point of having a "Urgent" Care Clinic, if people knew they would be sick ahead of time. Also, turning away sick patients on the spot is such an unprofessional act. Shame on Northwell Health!

The ER care and attention was good and most of the nurses were young beautiful women. Processing was somewhat quick. What surprised me was the lack of room in the ER and then the lack of rooms. It made me wonder if the rooms were reserved for the wealthy. Don't get me wrong I was glad to be there and get help, but I have never seen anything like it. I was received to a bed in a spot in a hallway. I'm not kidding, I spent the entire night in a bed in a hallway. The good thing was that I was glad to be near a bathroom, that is, until others began using it and not just for number one, if you know what I mean. How is it that such a wealthy and well known place has no rooms for those taken in. I'm just in shock, and I would have left if I were not in such need of care. Well, the hall was at least clean. I felt like I was in some South American hospital that lacked funds. People can speak bad about the Bronx or Westchester hospitals or even Putnam county hospitals, but I have never visited one of these places and been placed in a bed in a hallway. I really don't know what else to say, except I can't wait til the morning sunshine to move on from here. I am so, so grateful for the Westchester, Putnam and Danbury, Connecticut hospitals. I will never complain about them ever again. Follow up: While there I engaged in conversations with other patients. They were more familiar with the Hospital and they had nothing but good things to say about St Frances Hospital and Heart Center. They all said that the hospital is always busy and the doctors were very good and responsive. I guess as always we live and learn. Who would have thought that beds in the hallways was a common thing in this area for this great place.
