As we walked in, I started to get a little anxious. I saw the big heavy bags, gloves, and medicine balls...what was I getting into?! But Eric gave us a warm welcome. He explained the workout and get us going right away. 9Rounds is a boxing, kicking boxing, and circuit workout. Each stations is marked 1-9 and has a white board with an exercise listed. There's one timer for everyone that sounds at 2:30 and then at 3 minutes. And there's always a coach there, offering support. You workout individually, one person per circuit. One thing I loved: no set class time. Pick any time they're open and come on it. Now who can't make that work?! We made an appointment since it was our first time. But as a member, you can go in any time. You just hop in at the beginning of the next round and off you go. Since it was our first time, Eric spent some time showing us proper form. After two rounds, we put on gloves and got to hit the heavy bags. At 2:30 the timer sounds and you go all out. Then at 3 minutes Eric called out an exercise for everyone like high knees, jumping jacks or plank. We did that 30 seconds then moved on to the next circuit. Three minutes felt like eternity for some circuits. But I pushed myself and kept going. At the end, I had some a sense of accomplishment. Not only did I learn something new, but I got a great workout too. If you're looking for a challenging workout, personal coaching, and even nutritional guidance then this is your answer. Your first class is free! So there's no excuse not to go check it out.

Hopefully this review will change it up a little. I joined in January, 2018 and am able to visit any location. Polaris is closest, and I love their walking track and resistance weight machines. I recently started taking a water aerobics class on Thursday nights, and my dad and I also do some open swimming when classes aren't offered. I feel like for all that's available and the minimal monthly payment, there's quite a bit of bang for your buck. People keep mentioning how disgusting this place is. From what I see, it's the actual clientele who are to blame! Paper towels not making it to the trash can, machines not being wiped off after each use, etc. Pick up after yourself! But, this unfortunately happens everywhere. They do have a cleaning staff, but I'm pretty sure they are after hours. I, myself don't want someone cleaning up around me while I'm trying to workout. "Excuse me, can you move while I run this vacuum?" Anyway, they have shorter hours than other gyms, but still convenient enough. The staff is friendly and they have an app for the Apple Watch, which I think is very convenient for quick check in. There is a women's area with weight machines, for the more reserved. There is a complete schedule of fitness classes and tuition is included in your membership. There is a sauna in each locker room, and the pool is a short course, so 1/2 size to Olympic. Swimmers are always very courteous with sharing lanes to accommodate everyone. All in all, I love being a member here. I split my time between here and another gym because the amenities are different and it gives me the variety I need.

Last Wednesday, my friend and I signed up for the 3 day pass at your 2100 Polaris Parkway location, in Columbus Ohio. We went and were greeted by Tyler who at first introduction seemed very kind. My friend and I worked out and loved the gym. Tyler told us he would be sending up offer emails, and to expect prices to go up by Monday, as "the gym is switching back to LA Fitness." We saw this as a ploy to get us to sign up faster, but it didn't deter us from joining. The plan was to use our 3 day passes and then sign up. Tyler called me on Friday, I explained to him that I haven't had a chance to come in, but we were very interested and I would sign up through the offer email. Later that night, I attempted to sign up with my American Express card. I received an error on the next page. I retried with my routing and account information, signed the documents, and went on with my busy weekend. The following Monday (4/1) I walk in and attempt to give my phone number because I haven't received a badge. To my surprise I'm not found in their system. Tyler takes me and my friend back to his office and says that he told us to sign up within the timeframe, as prices would increase. I explain to him that I had. He then asks to check my browser history, as if I'm lying. I show him, which proves I was in fact on the website and received the error and continued to re-attempt. He continued to question my search history and stated that if my search history had shown thecorrect URL that he would have been able to honor the price. My friend and I both questioned the point of the browser history interrogation, and explained in detail exactly what happened: that I signed up, received the error, and retried, but something must have gone wrong. We asked that he please honor the price as it was a system error and not a human one. He continues to badger us, and tells me I should've come in if I had issues. Again, had I known the system wouldn't process the signup, I would've come in; it was a complete surprise that it did not process. This goes on for about 10 minutes. Where I feel he is completely chastising us, and accusing us of lying, and he offers the jump in price of $29.99. I tell him it's not about the $5 difference. It is about his treatment of us. That I'm extremely uncomfortable by the confrontation, and because of his conduct, that I'm leaving and signing up for another gym. As we are walking out, he proceeds to call us clowns and walks away. My friend and I are in disbelief. I have never in my life been treated so disrespectfully by a staff member, let alone a manager. All for voicing our concerns. I am dumbfounded and chose to walk out. Again, because I don't like confrontation. Because he called us "clowns", my friend asks to speak to the Gym manager who is on a phone call at the main front desk. She waits. All while Tyler is throwing a temper tantrum right there behind the front desk, in front of all the incoming customers, loudly complaining about the altercation and making snide comments about us, all the while my friend is still waiting for the manager and is standing right there, just two feet away, overhearing all of it. That it itself is unbelievably unprofessional. His manager, who is still on the phone with a customer, motioned for him to stop (multiple times), but he continued. This went on for 10 or more minutes. There were two other colleagues who were there and can attest to this behavior. I am appalled that someone like this is in a customer service position. A gym is supposed to feel inviting, and that's not how we felt. Our excitement for the gym quickly dissipated. I will never sign up for a membership here as long as Tyler is working there. As a gym in such a competitive environment like Columbus, there should be more thought into who you hire and who you choose to keep on. Especially with a planet fitness right across the street. My friend and I quickly crossed the street, signed up for planet fitness and had a great workout, contrary to how Tyler treated us.

Stay away from this place!…read more Unless you are comfortable with using never cleaned, variety of brand, only OK equipment and you don't need personal instruction from the apathetic trainers that always seem more eager to get to the end the session, rather than watch and coach members on proper form and technique. Oh yeah, $250 per month for the privilege and the owner refuses to provide copies of documents you signed and can't keep track of who you actually are as a person/member, even though he spends considerable time initially to lure a new customer into the program and get them started. Lots more gym options out there to invest in improvements your health without the expense, health risks, and aggravation of Fit Club!

The trainers here are great, but they work you. Mitch, Ron, and Elena all know what they are doing and give a good workout. I hate burpees, but unfortunately they are a must when working your core. I made a commitment to the 6 weeks of working out here 3 times a week, along with the recommended paleo diet (for the most part) and was able to lose inches. The hour long classes were made up of 3 parts, including a warm-up, a skill such as beginning rope climbing and learning the proper technique for lifting, and then the real exercise portion. Each session we were given a variety of moves different from the last session, so we didn't get bored. I chose not to continue at this location, only because a) cross fit is hard and I'm a wimp, and b) if I change my mind, there is a club close enough to home I can walk there. I highly recommend Fit Club. It's located in a warehouse across from the parking lot where the water tower, rock climbing, and playground are at Scioto Auduban Park.
