His crew was very clean and minimized disruption in our house. They managed to remove and replaced K&T without creating new holes/access in our walls so we did not need to do any repair work after the project. It took longer than I had liked to get a response, but I did hear back from them. I was told to call the office or send an email; so, I emailed them a short description of the work with a picture. The entire process of getting an estimate took 2 business days. I requested an estimate via Yelp Sunday afternoon and received their bid Tuesday afternoon. I decided not to go with Bode's Electric because their estimate was on the higher side among the several estimates I received. In fact, their estimate along with a few others were significantly higher than a couple of bids from other companies in town (more than double). Note: Although they are listed as different companies, Bode's and West Mechanical appear to be the same company. Less than 5 minutes, Mr Sidney calls back said he can come by to look at it between 4 & 5 pm. He said he charge 1st hour of service up front. Sounds reasonable. Mr Sidney showed up as promised at 4:20pm and he diligently troubleshoot our circuit board and meticulously checked our kitchen outlets which was another source of problem of constantly popping the circuit breaker. End result Mr Sidney fix our dishwasher circuit and was even kind enough to explain to us how to minimize our problems of our kitchen outlets. He actually spent over 1.5 hours researching our circuit issues but yet he only charged us the 1 hr rate. Good honest man, Mr Sidney. Mills Electric made me feel like we are part of a team that was working together to get power restored to my home after a huge tree fell onto a power line and damaged the weather head on my roof. The power company came out and cut my power and told me it wasn't safe to have power hooked up to my home until 1) I had the tree removed (my dime) 2) had an electrician replace the weather head and check the meter and 3) have an inspector from the Dept. Of Labor and Industries inspect this very minor repair. Bellingham had just had a snowstorm with high winds and below freezing temperatures and we are currently bracing for another storm. I understood PSE's rationale but the fact was they left me without power and just expected $2,500 worth of work to happen immediately on my part to keep my family safe and warm. "That's part of being a home owner" is all they said. Challenge accepted. The tree was gone in an hour and Mills came in and did their work but also helped me get the permit going and left a copy with me so that PSE would have no choice but to reinstall power today. I am grateful for their help. I cannot imagine the alternative right now, while my toes are finally thawing. Everyone was nothing but helpful and respectful.
