I hired Jacob Hodge to grind two large tree stumps and the roots in my front yard. Upon sending…read more Jacob photos of the front yard, we agreed on a price of $500 to grind the stumps, roots and haul away the wood chips. Jacob and an employee were two hours late arriving which was okay, but then at 5 pm, the work stopped. The man doing the grinding left without saying anything. Someone else came at 7am the next day which disturbed the neighbors. Jacob was doing the grinding and without finishing the job at about 8:30am, he loaded up the stump grinder leaving a very large part sticking out of the ground where someone could easily trip and fall on to the sidewalk or my driveway. I asked him why he was leaving without finishing. He said the grinder had to be returned by 9am. He then used a chainsaw to remove part of the stump, but it's still there and could be easily tripped over. This isn't the worst part of it. They decided not to rake and remove the wood chips. They had another job to do he said. After I said that isn't what we agreed on, Jacob promised to have someone at my house by 9am Friday to remove all the debris. So, I trusted him and paid him cash. Friday has come and gone, and my front yard is a total mess. No one ever came or called. Before you hire this company, get everything in writing.
